Quellar Arab l'valDaughters of the Silken Weaver Fifth {5th} House of Ulorbbath There is one motto, one saying that remain with us, in us, and bound to us. The weak are born to be devoured by the spiders.Beneath the layers of rock, among the winding maze like stalagmites, hangs an order bounded in black and draped in daggers. Selective of those among them and scarcely few come out. They are few in number, outnumbered by they're own schemes. Vibrant in designs and craft, they draw you further in. Should you hesitate once, join the weak. And be devoured. They are the Daughters of the Silken Weaver.

The Tale of our Founding Let us go back. Let us open our books and tell our story.
We started as a small clan. A house that others both large and small envied. They were blessed despite their small size. Lolth had come to ever one of their ceremonies, praised them, and many believe would have made them her chosen. It was not to be. For as the Spider Queen guessed, our foolish ancestors became over confident and sloppy, they spent more time gloating of their new found glory and praise than worshiping. They hadn’t know it was all for their own demise. The wise and cunning Goddess of our people knew that they were not true believers. They merely acted as this to gain her favor and power.
She waited, as she put our ancestors at a positions where power were mere inches away from becoming the crowning family of the city and then let them fall. In a move that stunned and excited all the other houses, Lolth ordered that they destroy the house. The whole city came down upon them, since even without the magical back up of the Goddess they were still strong. This didn’t change the result and though the city was never the same, the Goddess had weeded out the weak and disgusting non-believe weaklings. Leaving behind our clan’s creators and truly devoted subject, Illiamlaraoyss. She knew what the Goddess wanted and that she hadn’t end they’re Qu’ellar for not. The cunning Goddess of our people had purged us of the unworthy wretches and whores. She had cleansed us in order to create a stronger, better Qu’ellar. This is what our Qu’ellar founder set out to accomplish, she desired to create a Qu’ellar worthy our Goddess. In order to complete this task, she gathered the best, brightest, and strongest females the city. Many of you might be from their blood or even direct descendants. Illiamlaraoyss shared the truth and power of Lolth to them, letting them bring their knowledge and families to grow they’re forces. Yet even in this time of perfect chaos and harmony our founding mothers, there was still a single cry of warning. This warning came from the young mouth of the Illiamlaraoyss’s 7th daughter, Shrinidia. She warned that the system, though full of wonderful rules and loop holes, would not last forever. These wise words were direct at how they ran the house. Elders leaded by our clan’s founder Illiamlaraoyss, controlled the Qu’ellar together. The wise 7th daughter could see the coming chaos and while it would please the Goddess greatly, it would kill off her and our people. So she prepared gathering those members she thought worthy. From the Order she took on the best weaver, the soldiers the warrior, so and so forth. While the Elders fought for power, she prepared to take the true power of clan with her in what we now call, The Great Spinners Trails.
It was not in till the death of our founder that the chaos of full destruction came upon us. Quickly the house attempted to consume itself. Mother’s killed sisters without thought or planning, daughters sacrificed each other for false praise, while other killed and fled into the shadows of the tunnels. In the midst of all the chaos, there stood the wise 7th daughter calm and ready. As the last stone tower fell, she called out to the remaining mothers, daughters and sisters telling them to follow her; she promised to bring them to a new home and that they would keep our great traditions while creating new ones. Before our founding mothers set off on the Great Spinners Trails, our cunning 7th daughter knew that they’re travel would be hard. So she performed a sacrifice that none who saw it could forget. The city that had turned its back on our ancestors and ignored our founding mothers claiming they knew nothing of the Goddess’s words. She, our Matron, sacrificed them all. She and daughter slaughtered them all sacrifice all them is a rite for our protection and good travel. She even killed the Matron of the disgusting first House, they allowed their males luxuries and pleasure that were truly disgusting. A First House unfit to rule by all standards and our Matron lead them into chaos they deserved.
So we began our trudge forward to a place our cunning Matron knew would hold House worthy of Lolth’s blessing. A whole city that was layered with her many blessed minions. The trip was hard and long; each step we took, we robbed, stole and killed those unworthy and revolting to the Goddess’s eyes. I shall save you the tale of our passage, little ones. That is a tale for another day. I will say this though, our journey lead us to these ground so that we could spread Lolth’s word. We are her daughters born to conquer and control all. That is our Goddess desire and must accomplish it. ~Story told by Sinonia Venorik Arab l'val (age 300) Except from: A Tour Guide's Journal
Mirtul 1st 1372 D.R of Wild Magic
Today I had the incredible honor of guiding a new member on a tour. Yeah…At first I thought it was going to be fun. However it turned out quite differently. The only good thing is that they didn’t try and kill me…I feel like I should count the fact that I didn’t kill her either as an accomplishment.
To start off the tour, I was to meet her at the gate area of House. Now, you have to relieve that when you build you fortress into the side of the plateau, it makes it hard to have an impressive from door. So it was no surprise that the stupid and late little ssindossa, would have a unimpressed and almost smug look to her face. I know our gates aren’t much, they’re just a group of large stalactites pushed together around one opening. Our gate is pretty big and I know that some of the stalactites are hallowed out so that our guards and archers can defend the area. Still, it is all grey and misty, I almost got cold just stand out in front with the meat shield guards. At least I wasn’t alone, my brother guard stood with me. Anyway, when I first saw her I knew I should have followed my instincts then and lead down on the paths in our stalactite and stalagmite maze where I could kill her with ease. Oh, well…a lost opportunity.
So it doesn’t take long for her to start ranting to me about the impressive front gates of other Houses. As if I cared! Stupid nek, didn’t get the hint. So I shut her up by tell her about our maze. I told her about the cool false stalagmites that were really dangerous fungus traps, while others were the hiding place for archers and others were created to look like the front gate, but was really just traps. I was happy to see her skin pale a bit, though it didn’t stay that way for long. She was about to start up when I figure I should tell her that only members know the way through the maze and are taught all the hidden routes in it. She went silent, I figure it was from the subtle hint I gave her about leading her down a dark part of the maze. We walked through the beautiful garden that is the huge indicator that we’re nearing the house and she ask about the Stalagmites and stalactites above us. I tell her that it is where the Xuruth family keeps some of their members, along with the temple to Lolth.
Finally we reached the door. I’m proud of it, since it shows my family’s symbol. My visitor was less than impressed, she was about to say something snide I’m sure when I told her that we crazed the door ourselves. Luckily my Brother guard opened the door before anymore words could fly. Since it’s the second day of the festival honoring a new home, the front hall was sprinkled with daughters and members from different houses. This actually seemed to impress the stupid nek. I guess it has something to do with the elegant Faerie Fire light fixtures, the long rug that flowed down the Main Hall Stairs and the elegant craved walls that seemed to pulse with real blood. Though, I’m sure that is just a spell or something. Due to the party, the side torch holders were also light, though they were a special blue Faerie Fire. She was so awed she stayed silent as we walked past other family members and I explained that the doors lead to other parts of the fortress. Each flight, we have nine do to the paranoid Qwe family, has two doors. That makes about 18 doors. First few doors lead to a maze of corridors that will eventually get you to the storage rooms, while other will take you the meat shield barracks, dorms for newcomers, magical training and summoning rooms, and a few libraries. Some are trap doors that lead to more traps. The last three flights, the 7th, 8th, and 9th were where the family’s sections and areas were stationed. I explained the family as we went up and I was enjoying the fact that new seemed to make her more nervous. Nothing causes me greater joy than seeing see a weakling shrivel up in fear.
I think that is why she asked about the statues that appeared on each floor. I told her that those were important figures in our history. She noted that they were all females; I asked her why we should honor lowly servants. She changed subjects when we reached the 7th floor. This floor was where the Belgareth and Venorik families were. The doors to they’re sections were really here for convenience; since all the families had their own exit and they’re own way to reach the lower levels of the fortress. I didn’t tell her that, I just told her that the door were decorated in the clan’s symbol, the statue above their doors were to honor the founders of their family and the shroud that hanged at the statues feet held they’re family mark.
The next floor was the Skikudus and the Qwe family. The finally floor, I told her was for my family and the path to the temple. When we got there I enjoyed the gasp of awe and slight horror. The dripping blood like veins in the walls was more visible here thanks to the large over head Faerie Fire holder.
I was so proud of this floor, then again my family had designed it. It was large enough to hold several members on it and wider than the stair case down, which was designed to fit two large lizard mounts going down or up. That is two on either side and four in total. Our landing to hold about six lizard mounts. However that isn’t my favorite part, it the door to the temple, it carries a beautiful mix of my family symbol and the symbol of our Goddess. Sadly the stupid nek, didn’t see this in the blue light of the Faerie fire. No she was too busy looking at the door to the throne room. It too seemed to pulse with blood, was it real blood, no of course not it’s a spell. Stupid nek! So I take her in the large airy throne room. It doubles as a conference and discussion room when the higher ups want to meet with my grandmother. The walls pillars were carved to give the appearance that the room is curved outward and in-between each pillar is glass. Yeah, I know we rock. We have glass! Behind the glass burns purple Faerie Fire, though I wish it was blue. The stupid nek, walked into the center to find the spider motif on the floor and the same on our carved ceiling. Then she attempts to walk over to the other side of the room. Where my mother’s and my aunts chair sit on floor level slight shadowed by the small balcony where my grandmother sits. Of course the stupid nek ssindossa has weapons on her and is knocked back. She asked what the heck happens and I tell her that only stupid people would think that the thrones to our three most powerful people in our whole House would be unprotected. My high priestess aunt’s sit is shroud in blood red, while my mother’s sit is covered in black and my grandmother is shrouded in a shifting mix of red and black. All have protection spells woven into they’re fabric. It is one reason why our cloth is so popular.
The stupid nek gets anger and start bombarding me with questions. So I walk out, sure the next place with silence her. I open the door to the pathway to the temple. The Spider Walkway, we call it. I like the name, since I’m the one who came up with it. I’m sure I got props for that. Anyway, she doesn’t shut up instead she just changes questions. So I continue to ignore her and walk down the arch pathway towards the temple. There are two golem guards, a rarity I know even I was surprised by them. I guess grandmother didn’t trust mortal ones. Anyway the opened the door and I finally got to see the new temple. It is wonderful. Simply beautiful. You step out in to the hallway. Faerie Fire lit with two stairs on either side. Though the one you step though leads to the main balcony. That right, members get the right to sit in a balcony. I don’t sit in the main floor though. I sit in the higher level, which is where the stairs going up lead to. That is where all the higher members sit. Lesser daughters and son’s sit on the main level, with lowest level saved for the slaves, unworthy and pathetic weaklings we use to get things done.
Opposite us is the largest statue of Lolth I’ve ever seen. I nearly bowed there and wanted to slit the stupid nek’s throat offering her blood. Though I knew I couldn’t so I just explained where everyone sits. It was then that I noticed the alter space it was balcony embedded in the wall. Already the lesser Priestess were working to put a disgusting looking elf like creature on to the vertical post. I have never seen a pale skin elf before and it was rather disgusting to see. I’ve heard stories of them and they’re weakness, but never seen one. I can’t wait in till tonight’s ritual.
It was then that the stupid nek pointed up above the statue. I wanted to slap her so badly; had she not a brain? Did she not respect the Goddess to point so casually in her sacred temple? I sighed and listened to her question. I explained very simply that above the statue was Examples area. Where unworthy female are placed and humiliated. Then they are tortured and the blood from they’re tortured moment is burned in front of the statue of Lolth. At least that what I assumed, it was like that when we were on the road.
I was about to explore the temple more when I heard a very loud scream and two very loud gasp. I and the nek, both rushed out to see to lesser priestess staring in shock at a Brother guard. Not mine, mine still stood out on the walk way his head bowed as is his place. This Brother guard I knew, he name is Tebhrys, however this didn’t matter nearly as much as the fact that he was attack his sister. He hacked at her and of course being stupid Xulle forgot that she was superior and could have just blasted him. I’m just glad the little weakling is dead. How?
She fell off the pathway. The Pathway is the bridge that leads to the extra rooms of the Xuruth family. Stupid nek just laughed as Xulle fell off, it was then that I hated her. She a stupid commoner was laughing at a noble of my family. I already have an interesting plan for her. I will write of the plan here, but first I must find out what is going to happen to Tebhrys, where Xulle body is, and all the other good rumor and murder attempts of the day. Then I write them here and then prepare for the rituals. After that I will plot out my plan for the commoner.
As for what I told her at the moment she stopped laughing. She looked like a lizard with a good piece meat, so I promptly told her, “Well that is the end of lovely tour. I hope you enjoyed it since it will be your only one of the entire fortress. You now have the to make a quick decision die here or join us.” Did I mention the fact that I love to watch weakling wither from internal fear? Oh did she wither…I can’t wait to cause more. The lesser Priestess seemed to enjoy it too. I guess it runs in our family. wink ~ Dirzdiira Xuruth Arab l’val (age 65); 3rd daughter of Felynrae Xuruth Arab l'val.

The House of Arab l’val:General Information:The Qu’ellar of Arab l’val is different from most other Qu’ellars. The Matron decided to placed her “sisters” as leaders for each “family” of the clan. These “families” would then handle one section of the Qu’ellar needs. Many believe that the Matron did this, in an attempt to keep her power hungry "sisters" busy or complacent while under her rule. Though others argue that is really because she created a system that was so complex that each "family" would be stuck in a web of dependency. Its many folds making it hard for outsiders to find a weak point, while forcing those inside to become dependent on the Qu’ellar. The only family that can break away without too much damage is the Ruling family.
Each of the family’s operates rather like a smaller house; the leaders will usually be a cousin or distant member of the Xuruth family giving them, noble status. From there, each leader chooses those who will be handed control from either their own bloodline or those adopted into their family. Those from the bloodline are given three names, they’re first name is the one given by birth. The second depend on birth can either be the family name or the Qu’ellar’s names. If they are nobles (aka from the bloodline), they add on the Qu’ellar name at the end acting as a third name. Those adopted or brought into the family who don't perform a great service for the family usually aren’t given the family names, though in rare occasions it can happen. Those that aren't accepted into a family, through adoption or being added as a helper of the "family", upon joining are often forced to be one of the many "servants" of the Qu'ellar. These "servants" are usually at the beck and call of the Xuruth and Skikudus family, though other families might call on them as well. A "servant" must show skill and loyalty before a family can even consider adopting them. Most "servants" are sent to monitor the farmlands, which the clans has far from the fortress in an undisclosed location. There they watch over the farmlands, oversee the slaves work, and guard and carry the goods back to the Fortress.
Those adopted often spark outrage from lower nobles. Though most noble born are treated better. Adopted daughters often kill rival sisters in hopes that the leaders will grant them the family name. Just as noble daughters of one family kill another in order to gain a different higher family name. However gaining the second name depends on the mood of higher ups. The leaders of the family must believe that the killer is worthy of gaining the second name. If she doesn’t then the killer is simply given the dead daughters position or she is killed. If she is worthy then she is added to the ranks of the nobles.
Each family is run by a female, no male is allowed to hold a position higher than a female. Unless the female has done something that in the eyes of the entire qu’ellar or simply one family that justifies a position lower than a male. If this occurs the clan gives the female a choose, they can either work to regain they're position (unlikely) or kill themselves publicly in a manner of they're choose. It is rumored the blood of those females who choose to die are used as dyes for the wall hangings.
These events play out within the corridors and tunnels of the House; turning high ranking daughters into bottom feeders. While other raise or fall depending on the whims of those higher in rank. Despite all the constant upheavals and dangers, noble daughters are instructed in all the fields of the House. If the daughter is alive at the end then she is given a place higher up in the family or is given a chance to display her skills. This display usually means killing off one of her sisters.(^ = Those profiles that haven't been accepted by the crew, yet.) <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <>
Xuruth ╚Core╝ Family

The Xuruth or Ruling family manages, checks, and controls the outside interactions of the House. They are also Priestesses of the clan. They’re family holds all the secrets of the old ways, along with all the teachers of the Priestess-hood. They control the sales, the income, and materials of the clan. They are then head family. Males in this family are not completely thrown away. The adopted males and Matron's sons are trained to act as masked guards to the Matron’s daughters. This training is overseen by the Caretakers, a selection of the Matron's daughters or adopted members, who have shown great skill while training under the Skikudus and Belgareth Families. These guards are then paired with another daughter, priestess, or even caretaker acting as they’re guards against the schemes and attempts of the other families. Sometimes they are loyal, other times they’re not. If a daughter is killed by one, she is considered a failure, and the son isn’t "harmed" for killing her. The son is merely tortured for nine months and then turned over to the Skikudus family to become a Meat Shield. If he fails to kill her, then he is sacrificed in the Temple as being disrespectful to females. For more information on this family, click here.

 Skikudus ][Steel][ Family
The Skikudus family was given control of the army and the general guards. This section of the house is divided into ranks, with movement only happening it is believed that you have shown yourself worthy or if you come from the right blood line. Because of this is it slightly large then other families, though it is dependent upon the goods and tools available in other families. They train the house members, guards, and archers. Since the house isn't known for their strongly built members, the family device a method of training that would emphasize speed and agility, rather than brute strength. Qwe }{Needle}{ Family
The Qwe is the family that handles most of the clan’s poison, medicines, and clothing. The second smallest family in the clan, they are strict and very selective of who is adopted or even allowed into they’re section of the Fortress. They are insidious weavers, who train from birth to create amazing and complicated clothes, which the clan either sells or uses. These clothes vary and depending on purpose can be made of different material or are dipped in certain mixtures. Most wear hooded robes, since they believe that since the Goddess is an unseen force of chaos that they must do the same. This is an old way of thinking that even some people outside the family still hold. Spindles are those who come from outside families to train under them. Belgareth )(Maze)( Family
The Belgareth is a family that is considered even the clan to be slightly unstable. They are the smallest of the all the families and even seem proud of that. They oversee most of the magical studies and hold some of the hidden history of the clan. They’re wing of the fortress strangely enough happens to be the second busiest, due to the need for magical understand. They’re area also holds direct routes to the libraries. There are other ways to them, which are used more often since the halls and stairways of the Belgareth part of the fortress is rather dangerous. While professors handle different subjects that the family focuses on, such as the Professor of Magical Execution oversees and manages all those who with preform magic for the rest of the Qu'ellar and during war times, Teachers are those who teach and keep the history of the clan, along with magical studies. Pupils are usually those who have achieve a certain amount of understand and are used by other parts of the clan for magical needs. "Good Morning, Ilharess." The two masked guards knelt heads down as she stepped out of the torture room. The area lay just above the throne room, so that the sounds of the tortured person would fill the throne room and they're blood would drain down the sides of the doorway outside. Shrinidia didn't reply back as she glanced down at her blood soaked white shirt and breeches. She smiled as they took the hint, they had been specially raised to serve her and she was please with her latest pair. I might even keep them longer then the last pair, she thought as one knelt holding up a large bowl of water so she could clean her hands. Meanwhile the other knelt presenting her with the change of clothes she requested. Once she had washed up and changed, she took a set of stairs down stairs to her throne room. Along the way, her personal slave appeared handing her notes and holding up a goblet of mushroom wine for her. She took a sip of wine, before reading. "Have you heard, Mother? I'm sure you've heard of the latest death," came a voice ahead of her. Looking up Shrinidia noted her first born, T'rissymma, leaning against the door way in her spider silk gown. "If you are speaking of Xulle'zyne's death, then yes." She said as she passed her daughter. She knew that wasn't the biggest set of news, but she wanted her daughter to fill like she knew everything, it was easier to stomp out a hubris filled fool, then a humbled one. "Mother, mother...always so busy with other stuff, you miss out on grand news. Words has it that Elvquirl, the leader of the Venorik family, was found dead last night in her own room. Everyone wonders how it has happened, and several family members have come forth attempting to claim the position of leader already. Then when you add the death of a Xuruth family daughter, so soon after we finish building our home. Well, it no wonder that the family are calling for this House meeting," T'rissymma tutted under her breath at the family leaders eagerness to put Shrinidia on the spot already. "Well they want to assure they're people that they had nothing to due with the deaths...Also they also want the chance to influence me into whom they think should hold the position of Venorik family leader," Shrinidia looked over her shoulder at her daughter who had taken her position in front of the guards. Her daughter shook her head, "They're causing more problems then there needs to be. Though watching all this chaos is wonderful...we don't have time to deal with this silly nonsense. They should know better then to attempt this while another house is busy battling another. When they have stopped we will offically be the fifth house." She sighed as she considered the arrangement of things. "Though I guess that is one reason why you have allow this meeting to take place. It should cement your strength, while clearly displacing they're weakness as leaders, well as except Jhuleyl'yl who demanded that we not hold this meeting." Shrinidia just smirked as her slave prepared to open the door to her throne balcony seat. Already she could hear the sound of ranking family members milling and muttering together. Letting out a sigh, she glance back at her daughter who was smirking. "You know mother, I really don't envy you your position, despite the ease with which you carry it. I know that this meeting will just one of many...I hope I never gain the throne. I want you to keep it." That caused her eye brow to raise, "Why is that?" "Because if I get the throne then I will have to deal with this mess. I can handle lesser Priestess and trainees, but I don't even want to contemplate the mess you sort through with each of these meetings. If someone else gains it then I lose my lovely status, which would be disastrous. I don't look good in rags," With that her daughter disappeared down the short hallway and down the stairs. Shrinidia wasn't sure if she believed a word out of her first daughter's mouth. She didn't have much time to contemplate them as the herald announced her first and second daughter's arrival. There was pause to allow the members to bow and then the female herald stated clearly over the silence, "All stand and honor the Matron of the Arab l'val, mother of the daughters of the sacred silken weaver. Matron Shrinidia Xuruth Arab l'val" Shrinidia let out an excited breath as she walked out and took her seat, she would love it if she could believe her daughter's words. Since they would allow her to hold onto this power forever.

Xundor's knelt beside the double stone doors listening for the slightest motion or sound. Once he had judged that there would be no sudden surprises, he gave the door a gentle knock. "Ussta jallil, qualla natha guuan. Ol zhah draeval whol dos ulu guuan phor, 'zil quarthen a l'Ilharess' ilstaren."
Xundor paused and then opened his mouth letting his lips brush against the smooth interior of his mask, but before he could gather enough breath to speak louder Zarinil clear voice called out, " Stop with the formal speak and enter. I am already wake...and curious. "
Xundor stilled as he went to open the door, his hesitation was greeted with a sigh. Her mumbling hadn't carried which raised his caution flags, but he knew his duty and opened the door anyway. "Jallil Zarinil," he said and bowed.
For a while there was silence, but he knew that never lasted, especially not on a morning like today. "Xundor, is the news true? Was not only Elvquirl of the Venorik family killed, but also sister Xulle'zyne?"
Xundor had walked through the archway that lead to her bathroom and had placed her clothes on a bench in behind her changing screen. "It appears to be that way."
As he reentered her main room, he took his place by the archways entrance.
Zarinil walked past, her long red night gown flutter around her feet. "Is that so? Tell me everything you know."
Xundor didn't move to look, he had made that mistake once and had been stuck in place for an hour. "I do not hold much information on the death of Jallil Elvquirl, however it was said that she was found in her bed, her throat cut. As for Jallil Xulle'zyne, I was told through the rumor circle of slaves and lower members. According to they're accounts, Xulle'zyne had been in the middle of the corridor leading to the bridge. As need Tebhrys, her guardian was present by her side. From the evidence Tebhrys struck first, blasting her with fire. They were close to the bridge, before she could recover, he slashed her with his blade. She fell through one of the small arches into the wisp lichen below. Two lesser priestess claimed to have been witness to Xulle'zyne fall."
Zarinil rinsed her hair under the small waterfall, when she came out from under it she chuckled. "Of course they would see it. Who wouldn't want to see that farce of a noble daughter fall. To be overcome by your guard, pathetic!"
Xundor didn't argue or even speak. He listened. He heard Zarinil step out of the water to patter over to her clothes. Once he heard the slight scratching of the divide being shifted in place, he walked in and gather up her sleeping gown and slippers. Zarinil waited awhile before saying, " I presume, from you're late arrival that you were there when they came for him."
Xundor took his place before saying, "Yes I was present. I know that you would desire as much information as possible without having to interact with a Venorik Quite One."
Zarinil patted her hair dry, "I'll ignore the fact that you stepped into the putrid place. Though, remember you could also be sleeping in and with that filth at anytime...Anyway...continue."
Xundor did as he was told, though he was smirking underneath the cover of his mask, "Of course Jallil Zarinil, I stood close to the doorway where the guards were stationed. Tebhrys was sitting on his pallet, acting as if nothing had happened. It was as if he expect not to receive punishment. In fact, he dressed in his spider skin robe as if expect a reward or to meet the Ilharess. It wasn't in till the Ilharess personal guards arrived that he showed any signs of worry. When they announced that he was to be take to the Ilharess as for acts against her family is when he ran. However since it is our duty we stop him from using the other ways out. If you leave now, we should be able to hear his screams in the main hall." Zarinil walked past heading for her desk, in front of which was a window. Her room was placed in one of the stalagmites, which gave a view through the wisp lichen of the distant city lights.
As she stared out, Xundor came up from behind aware that if he moved too quickly or too slow she would strike him. Once he was kneeling at her back, he began to braid her hair and then add the end pieces to it. Silence reigned between them in till Zarinil said,"Where is Mother now?"
Xundor tied off her larger braid before he began to split the ends with they're heavy barbs,"I have heard there is to be a Ranking Family Meeting, the Ilharess will probably be there."
"I would presume that mother is displaying her strength, since I know that this kind of issue wouldn't be handled by ranking members, but clan leaders only. The fools must have planned for one of they're deaths to try and position Mother in a uneasy place. Ha! Well, They'll learn they're mistake soon enough." She chuckled darkly to herself and gathered up her weapons and counted the coins her pouch making sure she had enough to do as she wanted.
Xundor didn't say anything, though he was thinking the same thing. Finished with his task, he stepped back and took his place by her front door. Zarinil walked over to the web covered wall, "Zesyl, come we're leaving."
There was a scuttling sound and then well-sized spider appeared. It climbed up Zarinil's outstretched arm and onto her shoulder. Once her spider was settled, Zarinil walked towards Xundor, who quickly checked the hallway and then held her door open. "Jallil Zarinil, are we going through with the plan we had from yesterday?"
Zarinil didn't reply, she simply walked out of her hallway, down the three flights of stairs passing her fellow "sister's" rooms and then out onto the bridge that would lead her to her family's personal space. Once on the bridge she said, "Yes, I believe that it is a wise course of action. I have no studies today since we are still celebrating the completion of our fortress, plus all the drama about the deaths will keep my teachers busy for awhile. So it would be wise to take advantage of the situation and get better acquainted with the city...plus we might meet some interesting nobles while we are out."

Shrinidia leaned back into her throne, the throne hall below her was empty. Only the shuffling of her spiders and the faint sound of her own breathing stirred the air.
Her thoughts could have filled the room with more then enough noise to break the stillness. Deaths and the riddle of the fools who had wasted they're breath over and then fled back into they're family whole. No the thoughts were echo of argument, an argument that had plagued her since the House's Fortress was completed. Alliances, were such a pain.
The Weapon's Mistress, Jhuleyl'yl of the Skikudus family, had requested time to speak with her alone. This request was followed with a similar one from Sinaraema, the Head of the Qwe Family. Both had filled they're requested time in the hoping to flex they're influences on her. Spearing her information that for all she knew was but rock; when she need gems.
Her pretense of taking they're painted rock had been good, however that didn't solve her problem. She was almost wanted to ask them if they're precious contacts could even spare time for they're actually clan, since they seem to spend so much of it on sharing they're blessings with them. Yet, this contacts and guides had so nicely informed them of this....yet hadn't spared the time to talk to her. Nevertheless, it was clear that they brought up the one valid point on her lack of time. In no time the battles would be over and everyone would attempt to get to know the newcomers.
Maybe I should wait for they're eyes to turn our way...No, they bring up valid points...HA! I'm surprised that this knowledge could get through Sin's drugged brain. Laughter now, won't solve my problem later though. However they're fluffy words can't be fully ignored like those fools, She thought slouching in her throne; trust wasn't a strong suit of hers.
Then she stood suddenly, Why don't I test those fluffy words! "Ghaunerin! Come here at once!," She called out. A moment later a young male, his face covered in a mask of black with red diamond in its center, opened the throne room door and then entered the throne room. He knelt, his head touching the floor.
"I have left my post outside to serve you Ilharess."
I want to you go fetch my daughter, Zarinil. She should be in the stables picking a worthy mount to carry her into town. Inform her to come here at once, " She paused as she thought of something and then smirked. "Once you have escorted her here. Go to our storage room and pick up the item mark for trade. Then return to me, with the items. I will have more orders for you then. Now go, I'm not in the mood for delays."
"Yes, Ilharess," the male bowed and then scurried off as quickly as possible towards the stairs under her balcony throne.
As the door s**t behind him, as she called for her personal slave. It was only when he too slipped from the room that she allowed a smirked across her face. Leaning back she waited.

"no no no, don't get me wrong, i love finding the snack in the cave, but sometimes there are too many!" The drow speaks in an excited, melodic voice, his form crouched in his cave, his red eyes locked onto a fist sized spider. "one goblin is more than enough food for me, you don't have to kill three or four every night, just cause they come in here looking for me...." he sits there for a second, his face blank before a wide smile crosses his full lips. "oh, i understand! they were after your stuff! so you had to protect it! okay, i will clean up the mess, do not worry, after all, this IS your cave." He chuckles, and the spider he was speaking too....who absolutely had no idea what the big gray thing was doing, just sits there, knowing that it meant her no harm. This was the spider's cave, she was here first...however, the big gray thing brought it food, so she allows it to stay, however, she WILL kill anything else that comes in.....rare indeed is a drow like Ushdui....who was immune to the spiders venom....it was even more rare for a goblin, and the spider had not found one yet.
Ushdui leaves the cave, and all of the other meat shields scatter...in a world of insanity....Ushdui was considered crazy. The goblins, orcs, and even most of the giants avoided him, knowing him short of temper, even shorter of mercy, and always on the look out for food...and every non drow was on the menu. He moved with the grace of a drow, the beauty...but not the silence. The bones in his hair constantly clink together, drawing a smile from the man, who wore them JUST for the sound....and he was also hard not to SEE, the massive axe on his back drawing attention to him.

"With you allowance, my mother. I will take my leave," Zarinil said as she bowed her head.
Glancing up, she noted her mother's nod of allowance. As her feet carried her out of the throne hall using the door under her mother's seat, Zarinil could just imagine her mother smirking above her, At my position or her scheming...I guess its a mix, which is similar to the mixture of admiration and hatred I have for her.
Stepping outside, she closed the door behind her, just as a soft, male voice said, "I'm glad to see you well after your meeting with the Ilharess. Since that is done, without a lose of limb, I presume we are off to the city?"
"We are. However we are making a side trip," She waving the small black envelope over her shoulder as they started off down the stairs. "It appears mother wants to reach out to our newly ascended neighbor...though they don't deserve it. They didn't kill those they planned to replace. It is, however, mother's will and I'm not interested in dieing so...
She trailed off as group of young Priestess passed, muttering about some tournament and they're possible bet going sour. Quietly, she, Xundor and her pet rounded the corridor they had just come down and then walked down a flight of steps. Passing another group of brothers and sisters who appeared to be discussing the latest play. Fools, wasting they're times on this foolishness. There is a city outside out doors and they are so busy looking inside they yet to see the danger of the outside.
That thought gave her pause and her hand shifted subtly to her pocket, where the letter lay just they arrived at a hallway that lead to a well guarded doorway. Xundor opened the door, which lead to the bottom level to the Xuruth family private stable. He walked through checking it quickly, thus leaving her to her thoughts, This time I will admire you, mother. Let us hope that you stay there.
"Ready to proceed, Jallil Zarinil, Xundor held to the door open for her. He held the door open as she walked through and stated, "Good. Then lets get this greeting and meeting over with. I want to relax in the sauna for a bit before coming home. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ [These are all NPC's...cause it would be boring without them...]
"I hope the Matron isn't sending us on a death mission. I've heard nothing pleasant about this house...and I would hate to miss the battle I have planned for our little Meat Shield. I set it up, so that we could be entertained," Zarafae said as she watched the slaves packed the small wagon with the last crates full of weapons, poisons, mixtures, finely woven clothes and magical items.
Zara didn't flinch as two lean arms wrapped around her waist and a soft breath tickled her neck as her friend Brizeyl'thrae Xuruth whispered,"Calm down Zara, we will be back with plenty of time. I'm sure Grandmother wouldn't send us out to die, not after the favor I preformed for her. In truth, I figured you would like some time outside the fortress. You've been playing with our little Fool for some time, some time away will do you good. Plus, I sent our Fool off to do as he liked for awhile. I figured we could have some time, with out the thought of the Fool to preoccupy you. Just think once this is done, we can come back and enjoy some time here before you send our fool off into another death battle."
Zara rolled her eyes, but before she could reply the soft voice of Briz's bother Ghaunerin interrupted, "We're ready great Ladies. Your mounts and the two slave driven wagons are prepared and ready."
Zara could hear Briz sigh before she said, "Fine brother. You will lead us out. Remind the guards to keep watch...there might be runaways from the fallen Alaenduis blood hole. Killing them should be fun, nothing like moving target practice, eh Zara?"
Ghaunerin nodded before moving away, leaving the two to mount they're rids. For a moment neither said anything. Zara broke it by saying, "I guess that this outing could be interesting. We can see who kills the most wondering scum. Winner gets to choose how we 'celebrate' our return."
"Excellent! I'll start planning our 'celebration' now." Briz chuckled as the slaves pulled the wagons up and the ten meat shields took they're place around them. Once Ghaunerin was mounted he gave the call and they started out of the main Arab l'val fortress stable, trailed by two slave driven wagons.

Ushdui would give a soft hum as he exits the slaves quarters through the stable, suddenly stopping and hitting the ground, bowing his entire body to the two priestesses passing, his body shaking in excitement....it...it...it was Briza and Zarafae...daughters of his beloved matron...oh how beautiful they were..how beautiful the ground they stepped on became...the scent that drifted from them was enough to make him wiggle in extacy. He dares not look at them, but OH how he wanted too!!!! all he could do was bow as they passed, and pray to the goddess that they turn their eyes to him...for through their eyes, the eyes of his true love may gaze apon him...his only true love....Lolth...
He blushes hard, pushing himself lower to the ground, the bones in his hair rattling lightly as he moves, the massive axe on his back not seeming to weigh him down in the slightest. His bare stomach is coated in dust...but why should he care, he could wash it later...it was a worthy sacrifice to have the honor of BOWING to his priestesses.
