I plan on starting a roleplay guild revolving around the aftershock caused by the Apocalypse and how the survivors cope.
But it came to my attention that someone who is helping me create the guild had drawn up an anime character to use but my original intention was to use real-life pictures.
So, now I have a dilemma because I want to use both anime and real life.
While reading, keep in mind that I want the roleplay as realistic as possible.
Pros of Anime:
Easier to find.
More variety.
Usually automatically attractive.
More people are accustomed to anime pictures.
Cons of Anime:
Unrealistic.
Too perfect.
Bizarre eye colours.
Bizarre hair colours.
Too many species.
Pros of Real Life:
Realistic.
Each person is unique.
You tell what ethnicity the person is.
No one has cat ears/tails or fangs.
Usage of celebs is allowed.
Cons of Real Life.:
Hard to find good pictures.
Not as much variety.
Judgement.

Anime, more people tend to like anime due to the way they look and what they can do. Plus because of the wide range of pictures there is less likely to be twins or fights over the pictures. Also anime is more fun to use and people won't judge the pictures you put up there.

I like the points you have there, no one will judge and racism is less likely, twins are less likely too.
But with real life, I've given the option to use celebrities or all around normal people, and there are a lot of humans out there.
And the people in the roleplay are just normal humans with normal talents.

Yes all true and accounted, but many people are scared of posting their pics and taking others is just wrong. Plus finding love is more of a hassle because all the boys want the hot girls and all the girls want the hot boys. But in anime most of the boys think most of the girls are hot and vise versa.

Also another good point.
But I'm not necessarily saying I want the users pictures, I hate giving my picture, too. Usually, people don't mind taking other peoples pictures, it happens.
Finding love will be a hassle but you don't need love, ne? I also see this as an action thing so romance will probably be at a minimum but the depends on the players. It would be hard to find love with real pics.

Yes, but that's another thing, most people will want to find pics of people with guns and such so we'll have a bunch of cosplay pictures or a bunch of adults. and anime is better to fine those pictures. (also in the open grassy field topic I changed the text only to something better, I feel it's appropriate now.)

For some reason, I don't see guns in it seeing as natural disasters destroyed almost everything and wiped out more than half of the human race, I do see them getting re-created, though.
I see more swords or knives.
(I noticed, I like it :3 I'll try to post but I'm a little tied up.)

But you don't need a picture of your character with a sword, eh?
Plus, with anime, I think they look too alike.

your guild sounds like my favorite show on discovery. The Colony.where seven people are put in a location to rebuild and wait until the virial outbreak protection agency comes back for them.

Hmm... Personally, I would give them the choice. I was in a CHB guild where users were allowed to use RL or anime pics and it worked pretty well. Of course, all the mods used RL pics, and overtime, everyone sorta switched over to using RL pics because everyone was using them.

Go with anime pictures, but have it so that they must follow a guildline. For example, no anthros (animal people) and they must follow a realistic colour guide, or have to dye/wear contacts.
