It was a hot, muggy summer at Camp Vetus Gaianus. Campers from every walk of life were coming together with their camp counselors for a week of fun and games. Everything seemed to be going well until one night at the campfire. Elli from the theatre bunk would sometimes go silent during the camp songs, and nervously glance towards the woods. No one really paid much attention to Elli's actions because everyone knew her to be a drama queen, and try to attract attention to herself whenever she could. Everyone just thought it was another one of her ploys. The songs ended, and the campers started walking back to their respective bunks. Elli started to go to one of the counselors, but at the last minute, changed her mind, and walked silently back to her bunk. Everyone slept soundly in their beds that night, oblivious to the outside world. The next morning at breakfast, everyone was enjoying their pancakes and sausage, and not worrying about a thing---that is, until the camp director started the morning roll call. Everyone's name was called in order, each of the campers responding with a sleepy and half-hearted "present." Then, the director called Elli's name. Silence. She called her name again, and there was still no reply. Everyone started looking around the dining hall for Elli, but she wasn't to be found. After breakfast had ended, the camp director and a small group of campers and counselors walked to Elli's bunk to wake her up. However, her bunk was empty, and none of the campers recalled seeing her since the campfire the night before. After a thorough search of all the bunks and buildings, it quickly became apparent that Elli was nowhere to be found. Then, one small camper piped up and asked, "Has anyone checked the woods?"
Thus the story begins. Where is Elli? Why did she disappear? What happened to her pancakes and sausage that she didn't eat at breakfast? All of these answers and more will be answered in Trouble at the Theatre Bunk! This RP was begun in the Camp Vetus Gaianus event, but it didn't get much participation then, so I'm giving it another run in the lobby. To begin, make a post or an OOC comment telling your character name and which bunk you are in. I will add your character info to the list of participants. You may begin RPing as soon as you give your character info, and you do NOT have to wait for me to update the list. You can choose a character like yourself or you can branch out and take on an entirely different personality. You do NOT have to dress like your character or do anything special. Just make sure that you have fun!Rules---You may not god-mod, meaning you may not find Elli on your own. She will be played by the guild mule, so no one should take her role. When it is time for her to be found, she will appear, but not before then. Also, no one may kill off another character, turn another character into a monkey, etc.
---Do not use foul language or insult anyone in this thread. This is all in fun, and everyone needs to respect each other.
---Keep with the storyline. Don't change the plot to something about dinosaurs or something like that.
---It is preferable, but not required that you write in past tense. It makes the story easier to read if each piece is written in a similar format.

Ms. Lil stood outside the Theatre Bunk, biting the tip of her tounge and tapping her right foot. Something was up. Campers didn't just disappear in the middle of the... no wait.. That Alvin kid got himself lost that time he decided to go sleep walking into the woods alone. Seriously, these kids don't have a lick of sense on then. Back in my day, we learned to..... She stopper her reverie before it could get any more out of control. Was Elli a sleep walker? Honestly she didn't know. Her tongue was starting to get sore from her frustration. Something had to be done.
"Campers! Counselors!" she called out in an authoritative voice, "Which of you are friends with Elli? Which of you talked with her last night?"

"Mad" Alvinette, the ever-so-slightly eccentric counselor from the science bunk, was in line chatting with a couple of other counselors, who didn't seem to mind her frizzy hair, her sarcastic T-shirts, her tie-dyed lab coat, her obsession with cartoons, or even her incessant jabbering about chemistry-lab mishaps. They cheerfully joined in her joking about how the camp food that morning looked and smelled like something growing in a petri dish. But when Ms. Lil announced that a camper was missing, everyone in line went silent. Alvinette didn't recall which camper was Elli, but she knew that some of the kids in her bunk had come to her about being teased by some of the theatre-bunk campers, and Elli's name had been bandied about during some of those discussions. She hated to think that one of her campers had something to do with Elli's disappearance, but she knew that she and her fellow counselors had to investigate every possibility. At the thought of even the possibility that one of her campers might be involved, Alvinette felt ill. She knew what it was like to be an outcast as a kid, but she also knew that there were appropriate ways to deal with bullies. She believed that all of her campers were innocent and that Elli might have just gotten lost or something, but still, the right thing to do was say something.
Alvinette strode over to Ms. Lil and said, "This may be nothing, but a couple of the kids in my bunk have told me that Elli and some of her friends have been giving them grief all week. I'm sure they had nothing to do with Elli's disappearance, but you might want to talk to them." Then, she leaned in and whispered the names into Ms. Lil's ear.
((Oh, crumbs! I didn't realize until after I made the big long post that everyone was out of the dining hall and by the theatre cabin. Doo-doo. This is why I should not RP when I am sleepy! I shall fix it tomorrow. xp ))

((I'm rather surprised you didn't come up with an original character name. Now, I'm going to have to play with you. twisted And, you don't have to represent anyone from your bunk. You can make up characters from your bunk, give them names, and tell about what they've said or done, but you don't have to rely on them too much.))
Ms. Lil listened calmly as Alvinette whispered names into her ear. She understood that Alvinette wanted to be discreet, but there was something always awkward about having someone's hot breathe in your ears. It's a good thing that ears can't smell, or else I would be in a heap of trouble. Then again, Alvin, no AlvineETTE, always had been one for giving her a hard time. Seriously, what part of her sleeping-walking brain could have thought that she could find the bathroom in the middle of the woods? When the toilet was only..... Oh, dear.... I seem to be rambling again, she thought. Sometimes her ADD tended to kick in at the most inopportune moments. And, that probably wasn't the best characteristic for a camp director to have, but since her uncle had stuck her with this crummy job, everyone would just have to deal.
"Thank you, Avlin.....ETTE," she said to the eager counselor. Alvin might be a cook, but at least she was a caring individual. "You say that she was bullied? What happened?"

"No, I think she might have been *A* bully," Alvinette corrected. "I don't have all the facts, but apparently she and her friends..well...kind of, uh, 'hazed' some other kids. It might have been innocent pranks, and my kids were too embarrassed to give me any real details. Maybe they just blew it all out of proportion. Sorry, I don't really have that much information to give you. I just wanted to make sure all the possibilities were investigated."
Alvinette silently berated herself for not pressing the campers in her bunk for more details. One of her little-known obsessions was detective stories, and detectives were always observant and got the answers! They didn't have their minds a million miles away. Stick to the lab, Alv, she told herself. Things are a lot easier when you work with chemicals and with people who understand you.

"She was bullying and hazing other kids?" Ms. Lil bit her lower lip and let her eyes wander. She would seriously have to do something about biting her tongue and lower lip before she bled herself to death one of these days. But, today wasn't that day. She stared at the faces of each of the campers. She hadn't know Elli to be a bully, but there was always so much that adults miss when kids are by themselves. Sure, she was definitely a diva, but would she actually bring harm to another kid? She shrugged and continued. "You don't think that anyone would try to take revenge on her, do you?" And, without out waiting for a response, she got an idea and turned around.
She looked out the other campers and councilors and asked, "Does anyone else have any info that might be useful? Once we get enough people with ideas, we can start looking for her, but first we have to figure out which way would be best to go."

((Just for the record, anyone is welcome to join in. You don't have to wait to talk to me or my character or whatever. Do your own thing! The more characters we have, the better! We can't move the story along until we get people playing with us. You don't have to be an expert RPer to participate. You just have to pretend to be a character at camp. Be spontaneous! There is no mandate that says that you have to take nice, even turns in RPing. Life is chaotic, and so is RPing!))
