How do I?Post an image:After you upload your image onto the internet, copy the images url address and use the following code when posting your image: Upload an image:Upload an image by either using a free service such as www.tinypic.com (requires no registration.) or by signing up with www.photobucket.com There will usually be a button marked "browse." Click that and then find your image, click okay. Wait a little bit while the image uploads, the larger the filesize the longer it will take to upload. Put an image in my signature?Well, theres a rather spiffy guide if you follow this link! http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=1211946How do I... (anything not mentioned above)Well, there's a rather spiffy guild JuneBerry mentioned that you can find literally oodles of how to guides at: http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewforum.php?f=7537

What is the...?
What is the difference between vector images and raster images? Raster images are the usual images you will find, they are made up of lots and lots of little coloured blocks called pixels. If you resize them or zoom in very close you can see the individual pixels. Vector images use mathematics to create the image area so you can resize it as much as you want and not loose details. If you zoom in close you'll see smooth lines. Vector images require alot of work to get lots of effects such as soft transitions and gentle shading, so it is best suited for inking and hard cell shading.
What is the best graphic software? That's not an easy question to answer. First, ask yourself, what do I intend to use this software for? This might seem simple, but there's alot of programs out there and you don't want to spend alot of money or time getting something not suited to you. The usual ones that are good for raster images are: Photoshop (cost 700$+, can get free demo from adobe website) Paint Shop Pro (cost 100$+, not easy to learn if you're used to programs such as photoshop, seems better suited to photo manipulation.) Open canvas (ranges from free for 1.1 up to 31-72$ for the latest verions) Gimp (FREE) If you intend to do alot of avatar editing or pixel art the ones you can get that work include: Photoshop (700$+ you need to switch everything to pencil mode) MSpaint (should already be on your system if you have windows, you cannot use layers.) If you're more interested in doing crisp clean lineart and your work involves alot of hard shading then you'll want vector software. Good ones include: Adobe Illustrator (cost 700$+ free 30 day trial available from adobe website.) Macromedia Fireworks (cost 299$ free trial available from macromedia website) Or if animation is your thing, there's some very good ones out there: Macromedia Flash (cost 699$ free trial available. The most common animation software that allows you to have sound, interactivity like buttons, and even create games.) Adobe After Effects (cost 699$ can also be used with digital video) Toon Boom Studio (cost ranges from 399$ for Studio, to 2999$ for solo which is basically the ultimate animation package from them. Used in professional studios.) Microsoft Gif animator (free! Used to create animated GIFs, you'll need to use another program to create the images for your frames.) ((I'm still reviewing and testing a number of other programs, so please be patient. They will be added to the list as I go.))

Why wont it work!?
Why won't my image show when I post it? Is your image a .bmp .gif .jpg .jpeg or a .png? Certain filetypes will not display on gaia. Did you accidentally put a space or invalid character in the url? Check and make sure that you have the image address exactly. You could be out of bandwidth. Some hosts such as photobucket will stop displaying your image for a preset amount of time if it's used too much bandwidth.

Uncategorized FAQ
Answers for questions that don't really fit anywhere else go here. First I need questions that won't fit in any other category to answer!
When dealing with shops, is there a limit to what theme they could have and what they could sell? Of course, I'm aware that all Gaia TOS and Guild rules apply, but is only manga/anime-themed art allowed since this is manga guild? No, it doesn't have to be manga-styled art. We don't have a problem with you selling whatever kind of art you want so long as it's created by you.

You could put the "How do I draw manga?" and "I need a tutor!" in there to. I know they're a bit obvious, but they seem to be popular questions. sweatdrop

Katriana, I would like to add something to the animation list.
There is a plug-in that GIMP users can get that allows them to make .gifs, but I'm not even sure if it's quite necessary. The plug-in, though, can be found at the official GIMP website, www.gimp.org.
