No matter how many times it is said, this rule is ignored. Please have some courtesy and actually follow it. If you don't, you will have to pay gold to have your Signature restored after it has been disabled.
The Signature Limits are an Area of 500 by 500 Pixles, (This is everything in the signature. Nothing in the Signature may extend by the 500 by 500 pixle line.) and a Image Size Limit of 100,000 bytes (This is all of the Images added together.)
1. Go to www.Photobucket.com (requires you to register for an account) or www.tinypic.com (does not require registration). Hit the "Browse" button and find the image that you want to use in your signature. Hit "Host Picture" to upload it.
2. When you hit "Host Picture", a set of boxes will appear near the bottom of the screen. The third box contains the image with the coding that you will need. Copy the coding in its entirity.
3. Click on the "My Gaia." tab
4. Select the "Signature Option of the beta profile.
5. Paste the coding that you copied from the block into the signature block area.
6. When you have added everything that you want in your sig, click "Submit."
REMEMBER: The signature that you have can be no larger than 500 by 500 pixels and 100,000 bytes in filesize. If your sig is bigger than this, it will be disabled by a mod. (and you will have to pay gold to get it back)
Make sure to save the Image to your Computer. Tinypic sometimes Randomly stops hosting some images.
Also, if you need to resize your images, you can consult this guide (by Clay West): http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=2029445
If you want to make the image link to a thread:
Use this coding.
