Yes, it's called kitchen witchcraft and it does exist . I don't really know a whole lot about it myself. I believe the idea is that different foods and herbs have various magical properties that can be used and consumed for the purpose of your spell (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong). Like I said, I'm no expert on it. My mom bought me a book called "The Kitchen Witches Cook Book" a few years ago, but I still haven't even touched the thing and I believe Scott Cunningham has a book on kitchen witchcraft as well, but I can't vouch whether or not it's any good.
I've always wanted to try it, but cooking is so much work as it is sweatdrop Hopefully, someone else here has more experience in the topic, but YES it definitely does exist at least.

Ziekara has it right. Kitchen Witchery has to do with using the magical properties of various foods to craft spells. I like A Kitchen Witch's Cookbook by Patricia Telesco for recipes, she sometimes includes folklore and stories explaining the dish better. Cunningham's book is decent if you just want a quick reference for what food is associate with which type of spell.

Maybe I should actually give that thing a read instead of letting it collect dust on my book shelf xp

Cunningham's book has no recipes, as far as flipping through it told me. And, since I indulge in immaturity occasionally, the sex foods section made me giggle while I skimmed it.

I just bought both boooks mention earlier and am excited to get them. ♥ I love cooking and baking, especially since Iève been doing so since I was 8. Well that and I've always watched cooking shows since I was 3 I think. (no joke)
So kitchen witchery sounds right up my alley. ♥

I just have to say I was so happy to find this thread! I have been very interested in learning about kitchen witchery lately, and the Patricia Telesco book mentioned here just went to the top of my wishlist. Just looking at what you can preview from it at Amazon, I like it so far and I'm really excited to see the rest of it. Thanks for the suggestion!

Hm... Someone should throw some of those spells up in the guild. I'd like to give them a try.

Kitchen witchery is like crafting magical jewelry. You can look up the ingredients and how they correspond to your goal, you can pick a time to cook the meal the corresponds with the goal, you can cleanse your space. What you really need is will and intent while making the food though.
The other stuff helps to focus (and personally cleaning your space is as much sanitary as it is magical in my mind) but like any other magic, will is the most important bit.
I do some informal kitchen witchery from time to time. I make hoppin john on the first of the year because it's supposed to bring good luck. I make sweet bread with colored eggs in the center for spring time. I sometimes add certain herbs or swap to certain teas to help with luck or memory or other little things.
I've never cooked a whole meal with any intent beyond enjoyment for the moment, but I guess where my faith is all about focusing on the now, that might be all I have in me anyhow.
