~::Hetero's Gambit::~ ~::The Fox's Shrine - Downtown District::~
In the Downtown District of Inaba there is a shrine that had been mostly forgotten, abandoned and run down, until the efforts of one small fox and an overly generous high school student raised its notoriety and gave it a reputation as a shrine that could truly answer prayers. Since then it has been renovated into a full-sized shrine, complete with the most ornate adornments, but even with that it has yet to receive the services of a full-time priest, leaving the inside mostly abandoned save for the fox's small family. However in recent days that has changed, a darker force taking up residence inside the small shrine. The fox family has been pushed out of the main building, the donations have begun to fund a different sort of purpose, and late at night, if you are walking by the Downtown area, you can sometimes hear strange sounds from the area inside.
Here, Hetero awaits the return of Kazuma and the other Messengers with the 'packages' that he ordered...a drastic effort to strengthen his advantage over the town of Inaba and the other groups that attempt to besiege her.

Kazuma Koroko I wonder if it’s w e a k to let you know when I’m feeling “sad” Finally Kazuma made it to the rendevous point with Kusuri who was still being dragged by her hair. Once the two entered the Shrine the blond released her. He couldn't bring her any further for she was still naked. If Hetero saw her in such a uncivilized manner he would be disappointed in Kazuma, and disgusted at that. So Kazuma ventured into shrine to find something that was similar to clothes; what he found was just old rags. Taking them back to entrance where the girl was Kazuma dressed her up to make her look a little presentable. Now she must be contain, luckily there were supplies within the shrine to do just that; a chair and some rope. Kazuma took Kusuri to the center of the room where he placed her on the chair. Next Kazuma tied her up to the chair tightly with the rope, that would hold her for a long while. Now his mission was officially done; all he had to do now is wait for further orders from Hetero. Sadly Kazuma wasn't a waiting type of guy, especially if he didn't have anything to keep him busy. In effort of killing time he paced around the room, but that prove to be a fail. So to find entertainment he turned to Kusuri; creeping over to her Kazuma began to wonder why she had hair covering her face. Wasn't like she had anything to hide, so out of boredom he lived her hair to see her face. When he did however there was a brief pause, what happened next was Kazuma screaming and Punched the girl in the face. That was just a reaction that Kazuma had when startled like that. "My God it was like....it was like someone replaced her face with a beach ball or something." said the boy still recovering from the sight. Now he had that image stuck in her head. Kazuma had to supress it, and what better way to supress a memory than to cause mindless violence. Kazuma lashed out Kusuri with a kick the side of her face; followed by another kick to the other side of her face. He gave her a hard push kick to her chest, and another kick to the side of her face. Kazuma continued his assault by kicking three times in her torso, followed by another high kick tot he side of her face. Stepping back a bit to create some distance Kazuma rushed in, leaped forward, and gave Kusuri a flying side kick to the face while yelling out, "RIDER KICK!" Which knocked the chair over with her along with it. Towering over the girl Kazuma began to stomp on her face repeatedly, but the bad apart about this was that he was stomping on the scareface....it felt squishy. So he stomped on the clear side of her face only this time he added extra force in his stompings. "Supressing.....Supresssing.....Supressing..." Would it be alright to r e v e a l when I’m “suffering?”

'Good Lord, this guy's heavy,' was pretty much the only thing going through Ichiru's mind as he trekked through Downtown, with Dan slung carelessly over his shoulder. "If tubby leaves a bruise on my shoulder, so help me God...'" His mumbles were widely lost on the breath of the wind, however, seeing as how there wasn't an audience to... Er... 'Sympathize.' Taking a sharp breath largely out of annoyance, it was clear that this Dan fellow was totally about to wake up. Totally. So Ichiru did the only thing a sensible person in his position could do; slam Dan's head against the wall of an empty building.... Seven times. There was a pause as Ichiru shrugged. One more for good measure. Now that, that was out of the way... To the shrine!
After a couple of minutes he arrived there, and more or less (some emphasis on the 'less') mimicked Kazuma's actions until the target was tied up and contained. He had noticed Kazuma, but had also noticed the severe beating of his captive and decided it best not to initiate a conversation while the man was in the mood he was in. He sighed. And so the waiting game began.

Dan Sekohara "Ugh" Dan groaned loudly as he roused from his unconsciousness. 'What the hell happened?' Dan thought to himself the pain in his head making the very act of thinking a difficult process. Dan raised his hand to his forehead, or at least he tried. His arm was caught on something... or rather something was wrapped around his arm. Dan tugged hard on his restraints his eyes still not fully open because of the pain in his skull. Dan pulled and wrenched and rolled his shoulder in different directions trying to escape but the knots were well tied; He struggled until he could feel he was about to dislocate his shoulder and stopped. "Dammit" He groaned to himself the very sound of his voice rattling his brain. What had happened that could land Dan in this position? He struggled with the thought, the last thing he remembered Dan was sitting on a roof looking out at the beautiful little town and then nothing. He thought he could remember the sound of footsteps but it wasn't much of a memory.
After a couple moments of thinking and the pain it caused Dan opened his eyes slightly. The light hurt but it wasn't too bad. Dan moved his head trying to get his lay of the land. He was tied up, in a room...for no apparent reason at all. Dan felt the hard crusty blood drying on his forehead and he could feel a dampness on the back of his head. It seemed like the blow to the back of his head had made some sort of damage as the white hair was starting to stain red with blood. With the blood on the back of his head the blood crusting on his forehead was no surprise, the seven strikes of his head on a wall was definitely enough to cause trauma; Dan was lucky he hadn't died.
Pulling hard again with his arms and struggling with his legs Dan tried to get free. He tried everything and with his intense struggling came imbalance. After some struggling and kicking Dan's efforts had an effect. The chair fell back and Dan landed squarely on his shoulder. "GOD!!!" Dan yelled in pain. "IS SOMEONE OUT THERE!?!?! UNTIE ME NOW!!!!" Dan struggled and kicked trying to break his restraints so he could lay some justice down on whoever decided they were gonna mess with Dan Sekohara Defender of Justice.

Naomi Fujiyoshi
Naomi rested kneeling next to the unconscious Kusuri gentle prodding her. "Hey~ Wake up sleepy head." she said laughing alittle after Kazuma had finishing stomping on her. "We won't be able to play with you if you're asleep." she said swaying from side to side clapping her hands together, small bursts of flames erupting from her hands with each clap. Letting out a sigh with Kusuri showing no signs of waking Naomi stood up and started to pace back and forth her heavy boots creating a solid echo on the wood floor. "What will we do if you don't wanna wake up?" she mumbled to herself slowly starting to play with the fire she had created in her hands. Hoping Kusuri would wake up soon

Yoshizo Yoshimura My arm is the arm of the dark oneMy shield is the power of the shadow
Yoshizo sat in the corner of the hallway a gloomy look plastered on his face. He wasn't gonna get to have fun was he. The prisoners were already divided up and he wasn't on the VIP list. He had a special treat for his prisoner and everything; 14 Fresh toad legs, uncooked ready for his party. He also brought his best knife and some coarse salt with him. Yoshizo tugged at his hair as he starred at the wall. Rocking slightly side to side as he tugged on his hand Yoshizo bit at his lip. "I want to play with the toads too...I promise I will care for them..." Yoshizo took out his knife and quickly nicked his finger and began to rub the blood all over his face. It had been over 24 hours since he had blood on him, that was a little too long for the pyscho to bear without the sweet smell of copper on him. "I promise I will hurt them a lot...make them wish they were never hatched..." Yoshizo stopped rocking and began to suck on his finger the sweet coppery smell filling his nose and mouth as he sucked on the cut he had given himself.

"Your voice is trembling, have you already realized that you're alone? You have nothing to go back to, only the chains that will enslave you to your fate..." The solid voice was probably the first hint to let fear sink in for Dan, an unwavering maliciousness that showed just how callous evil could be in the face of justice, least of all a feather light resolve like Dan's. The metallic sheen could draw eyes as Raiden slowly lifted the hard metal casing around his sheathed blade, so that Dan could see that he was fully armed and yet completely calm, lingering near the door for a moment to let the captive absorb the tribute of information, that he was so unpleasantly prisoner. "It's better to free yourself than to be a prisoner of fate. Let me help you take destiny into your own hands." Raiden walked forward and stretched down for a moment, long enough to drag a long knife from it's covering near his ankle, before reaching Dan and touching the tip of the blade to his chest powerlessly. "You have to escape your shackles, or you'll always be nothing more than a tool." The knife drug along the skin, floating over the surface of Dan's body for a moment before finding itself on the right side, beneath his shoulder. Then the blade sunk in, as Raiden stabbed Dan harshly. If he continued to expound on Dan's own weakness further, it wouldn't sink it. Only some of what the 'hero' was about to learn could be taught, the rest had to be felt. Pain was the best assistant to learning, as man could surely tell. "Your atonement starts here." Bright bolts spouted off Raiden's body for a second, before a thread of that power shot into Dan, shocking the soldier of Justice and as Raiden helped him learn, as creatively as only Raiden could.

Dan Sekohara Dan's eyes flicked to the door when he first heard the voice at the door. The person...or part person part machine as it seemed to be gave Dan a moment of pause. For a moment he stopped his wild thrashing and just starred. There was something so...off about his captor. When he pulled a blade from his ankle Dan's eyes opened wide. He hadn't quite begin to panic yet. However when the blade was put to his chest Dan stopped breathing so as his chest wouldn't get any closer to the blade. When the blade was put into his already hurt shoulder however Dan cringed and gritted his teeth hard. He knew if he kept struggling he would just make the wound worse. The white haired hero was not expecting what came next however; a bolt of lightning shocked him in the chest, the electricity making every single muscle in his body contract and spasm with pain. "AGH!!" He yelled in pain as the shock ran through him. For a long moment Dan didn't move he just waited for his muscles to stop their locked in position. "I... have nothing to atone for...get outta my face." Dan turned his head to the side and spat in his captor's general direction hoping it would land on his boot. Any Atonement this man was offering would definitely not interest Dan.

"Can you really say that you are free of guilt? Wasn't your power already too weak just recently?" Almost as if he had eyes in all of Inaba, Raiden was capable of conjuring images of the building that burned, the people that Dan couldn't save even though he had never been there. Could the so called Defender of Justice really accept that he couldn't move on to the higher floors so easily? "Their sacrifice wasn't of your creation, but that doesn't mean you weren't responsible, either. You should fear the destiny that forces these miseries on you..and wish for the power to change your fate." Raiden let another shock run through Dan, keeping track of the power that ran through Dan. Electricity when managed could be one of the most painful, and non-lethal ways to torture someone. The side-effects, the loss of control over one's own nerves, the feelings of helplessness that accompanied it...could only serve to induce fear in Dan, a fear that while unnatural, could be engraved in every fiber of his being and never be forgotten.

Dan Sekohara The white haired hero's eyes were blank and his face was nearly comatose for a moment. How did this man know...how could he know about that? Looking to the side to avoid the mechanical man's gaze he thought for a moment. He had been too weak...but could it really be his fault? Dan looked away for a long moment while he thought and suddenly he could feel every muscle contract again the veins in his neck popping out hideously from the pain. "AGH!" Dan nearly screamed as his body just cramped into a ball of pain. As his muscles loosened slightly a slight line of drool spilled from the left side of his mouth. Huffing loudly Dan turned his head back towards the man who was so expertly torturing him. "It is" Dan huffed in pain trying to get the air in and the words out. "My responsibility" Another long painful breath was taken before Dan could continue. "But I accept the outcome" Every muscle in the teen's body hurt, even the movement of his eyes caused him extreme discomfort. "I will get stronger so it will never happen again...and I will do it without you." Dan groaned in pain and kicked one last time trying to get free... get free so he could do something. He was nearing his breaking point but he knew he would not accept this man's "help" if he wished to call it that. Anyone who would torture you to convince you to join them is not someone Dan would ever align himself with.

"Very well then. Since you insist on forcing your own way of living, I shall do the same." Raiden let go of the knife and turned away, looking up without any clear target or focus of his gaze, only the wandering determination within it. Then Raiden spun, twisting his muscles intricately as all power was driven into his leg, which swung with lightning speed and connected with the butt of the knife in Dan's shoulder, driving onto it with the same focused power, like a hammer to a nail. Without problem the weapon shot out the back of Dan's shoulder, a quick popping sound signaling that the knife had went through fast enough, even the air was attempting to fill in the void of the hole now through Dan's shoulder. "Your problem is that you do not have enough fear. Fear the time you have left. Fear the sins weighing upon you. If you gather the power of the fear in your soul, then you will awaken the power you so desperately need, 'Hero'." Raiden turned, leaving the lingering sound of his feet on hard wood as his only reminder to Dan, stepping outside for a bit of fresh air. The knife that had went through Dan, was embedded in the wall thoroughly, the entire blade hidden in the wall and stuck with the power of someone inhuman, unlucky to be pulled out without someone else's help. Well, if Dan was the hero he chose to be, he could probably think of something. But even then, escaping from Raiden's grasp would be impossible...

Faustus Necromonium
Faust, albeit a little out of breath (Fast Fox was fast), made it to the area the fox had directed him to, the Shrine.
Being what it was, Faust wasn't sure exactly what was going on, but got a bad feeling in his stomach about it. If it was enough to get a fox to seek him out, then it must have been bad.
Kusuri Keiraku
The poor girl had to take the savage beating she was getting, losing conciousness again as Kazuma repeatedly attacked her. So, she was right. Her scar was just like back in her old school. Had she been able at the moment, she would have cried. She.....she needed someone to help her. Her father, Eo, even that stupid Robot Wynn would be a sight.
Though, there was one person she didn't want to see. He always had seen her in peak form. When she was in charge, so to speak. Not tied up and being beaten by someone. She didn't want to look.......weak..

Hetero, the Despondent One
"That's enough," a cold voice came from the doorway to the shrine, and though the door hadn't opened, there was a black energy swirling about there...and in the center of it stood a man who hadn't been there moments prior. His green eyes shone brightly in the massive, dimly lit shrine building...and his pale skin was clearly visible against the faintly-lighted backdrop of the white sliding door. Moving forward, he glanced at Raiden and Kazuma once, expecting nothing less than for them to step away from the wrecked bodies of their captors and allow him through. He hadn't wanted to do things this way...but he had been left with no choice. It was time for drastic measures. "Dan Sekohara...Kusuri Keiraku..." he spoke their names with a strange familiarity, as if he knew them from somewhere...little did they probably know that in another time, a past life before he was 'Hetero', he most likely did, "do you fear death?" It was a simple, loaded question; everybody would eventually meet their end, an inescapable fate that all living things one day came to experience. The end of everything...the end of their lives...who wouldn't fear what awaited them in the great beyond...if there was one of those at all? Still, there were those who didn't; for those, there were other things in this world of which to be frightened. Things like Raiden, and Kazuma...beasts who lived to inflict pain.
"Do you fear pain? The pain of ridicule for a circumstance you cannot control?" he asked, walking around the back of the fallen Kusuri, his empty tone not at all threatening or violent, but not quite as understanding as his words might have seemed, "Do you fear failure, suffer with the guilt of knowing that if you had tried harder, been a little stronger or faster...in the bitter watches of the night, whether you understand that there was nothing that you could have done...do you still hear the screams of those who died? Feel the heat of the flames? ...Do you fear them? And the way that they consume life?" Walking around Kusuri, he passed by Dan and then came to stand in front of them again, his measured pace having brought him full circle by the time he had finished speaking, leaving him standing in front of the two weakened souls...and then, in a rare moment, he knelt down before the two of them. His hands, powerful and pale, extended out to the two of them, a friendly, welcoming gesture.
"You don't have to be afraid, anymore...you can be free. It is my wish...to give you the power to grasp that freedom," his expression didn't change, but he had reached out to the two of them, offering them a chance to be raised up from the suffering they had endured...and the pain that wrecked their bodies, "soon, this world will descend into chaos...or it will devolve into worse. We seek the power to resist that change, to bend the chaos to our own will, to take control of it and ensure our freedom...we do not wish for death, nor a chaotic future outside our control...and we want you to stand beside us, Black Messengers as we are. And together, we can be rid of the chaos and the fear that this wretched world breeds. Together...we will stand together, fight against chaos using chaos as our weapon." His hand extended to the two of them, Hetero waited only a few moments...his eyes shifting slowly, back and forth between the two of them. This was the moment of truth; for all they had suffered, for all they knew and feared, he offered a way out. Certainty amidst chaos; a future in this hopeless town.
"I will only ask once...but the choice is yours. Will you help us? Will you be free of your fears, free of chaos, free of uncertainty...will you accept this power and take your life into your own hands, once and for all?"

Kusuri Keiraku
Kusuri's head was hurting. Very much so, with the beating she took. She listened to the words of the cold leader of the black messenger, though her mind had trouble trying to comprehend it.
It would have been a lot easier without all the throbbing from being beaten, but either way, her awnser would have been clear. She wouldn't.....She couldn't. Why would she want to trust someone else, especially after what had happened to her. Being kidnapped, then offered power. She didn't think that was the right way to go about it, but at the same time, wanted to be the tough girl she always acted to be.
She hesitated, as she managed to find her voice. "N......No..." she called, weakly. She couldn't.....

Raiden looked towards the outside for a moment, knowing that the next move Hetero would likely employ was to remind her of the vulnerability of her fear, the fire she hid from in her heart. The armor he wore did more than simply enhance his physical abilities, and as a small outline sprung to life on his visor, signaling someone outside, he recognized an uncharacteristically feminine figure. There were fears rooted much deeper than trauma, things which neither he nor Hetero could ever fully feel themselves...but he felt that one of them had just fallen into the palm of their hand, a better way to manipulate the girl than what Hetero had designed. "Then what if I snap your boyfriend's fragile little neck? I suppose you're satisfied letting him be a victim of the chaos that's arising." Raiden's arm reached over, his hand clapping onto Hetero's shoulder for a moment as a signal that he'd seen something, which the other could easily deduce was her ill-begotten boyfriend. Raiden turned towards Kazuma, holding up two fingers towards his eyes, before motioning towards the side of the room, leaving him to guard the location in case anyone came inside. "Looks like your Hero has already arrived. I can remove your suffering now if you want, and show you that relying on others is a sin." Raiden said, the Wicked One's caustic view of friendship and bonds shining through again. He drew his sword, preparations for the boy's funeral already underway. The fear that could seem so insignificant to him, which surpassed even her trauma...that was what he would awaken in her, to force her to aid their cause.
