The Masters

Xenos was born into a family that did not care too well for him as he was the last born hound of his brothers and sisters. Having had no attention paid to him but learning what all hounds learn, he ran to Zanzibar looking for something to do for himself. He found himself fighting meaningless fights and one day nearly lost his life for it. In the life changing experience, Xenos was saved by an unnamed slave kitten out on an errand for its master. Xenos realized that there is merit to all life, and was resolved that though there are slaves some can do something for themselves. In his realization he found himself wanting to build a pretty well semi-safe haven for other kittens. A place they could build a bit of their health and a stronger bond with their master if they showed they were useful. That is how he came to the idea that he would make his home a fighting ring. One where slaves could train to help their masters and gain some sort of bond without getting killed.
Xenos treats his slaves well, only hurting them if they are incompetent or did something that would look bad on the household.
