Serene.

That would be how she would describe the meadow in which she lay. The sun beat down softly through the trees, and bees whizzed by her on their way to find honey, occasionally landing on the white rose adorning her head. All was quiet, allowing her a moment to rest her weary ears, for one who could not see relied almost entirely on what they could hear and smell.

Lalania sat up, ears perked as she listened to the chirping of soft bird calls far in the distance. Sometimes, she found herself wondering what those birds looked like, or how the sun looked or the flowers in which she lay. It was a dark mystery that had no embodiment.

Shrugging away the old pain, she rolled in the flowers, allowing a smile to spread upon her muzzle, a laugh echoing from within her. Why be sad when there was a whole world of imagination?

Icarus was searching, looking for the female. She had always been on his mind after their first meeting in the clearing. He put the constant thoughts to worrying about her well-being. Her being blind didn't ease his mind. The orange wolf feared that things would happen to her whenever he was not present. Even though wolves did not rely on their sight as the strongest sense, it was still one of the senses that provided the most warning for caution.

He had caught her scent a little ways back and had followed it in one direction for some time, but had lost it on his way. His pale-blue nose twitched as he sniffed the air, trying to grab at the scent once more. Icarus let out a sigh as he realized that the path was lost. Frustrated, he sat down and began to swivel his head side to side searching the horizon.

It was then he spied a warm meadow through the trees ahead. A light bell-like laugh tinkled through the trees and caught Icarus' attention. There was no mistake, it belonged to the white femme with the white rose. With a grin Icarus began towards to the meadow, he padded towards the green expanse with a bright smile on his face. He broke through the edge of the foliage, purposely creating noise so that he would not startle her. "Lalania." He said in his regular voice, knowing that although he was still on the edge of the meadow her heightened sense would hear it.

A twitch was the only movement as she heard the voice. She went still, her paws lazily hanging in the air. She slowly rolled over and tilted her head in the general direction of the voice. "Icarus?" She said, quite shocked to think the male wolf would come out here.

She slowly stood, not quite realizing she was covered in petals, and looking quite ridiculous.

"Why are you out here, Icarus? You should be looking after your pack!" She said with a laugh, knowing full well that pack included her. But it was a silly statement. "You're such a bad puppy, you know that?" She said, with a soft bark of laughter and a smile that was equally as silly as her appearance. True, she may have been a handicapped wolf, with the inability to see and experience the world like most wolves would, but this did not hinder her rather lackadaisical personality. But of course, she could be fierce if necessary.

Icarus padded forward towards her once the female recognized him. He had watched her roll for a bit before he had spoken, her pause made him chuckle. She seemed so youthful, a puppy herself, almost as she played in the meadow.

As he neared he let a guffaw burst out, her appearance was adorable. Clearly she had been rolling around in the flowers for quite some time because he could see petals, leaves and stems poking out of her once-perfect white fur. Icarus smirked as she called him a puppy and replied with, "Lalania, you are part of my pack. I was... checking to see if you were okay." He said, neglecting to mention the gnawing worry that nipped at his thoughts.

He lay down in the grass beside her, whacking her with his white plume of a tail to ensure she knew his position and glanced at the remains of a bed of flowers. "What have you been doing so far into the forest?" Icarus said with a light tone, smiling although he knew she couldn't see it.

Lalania huffed a soft sigh of disapproval. "You worry too much. You'll get grey hairs and become an elder before your time!" She said with a laugh. She shook out her fur, scattering the leaves and other debris out of coat, before she turned her attention directly to Icarus. She smiled softly. "You don't have to be worried about me. I'm quite capable to take care of myself, even if I lack vision." She sniffed at him and nudged her shoulder into his with a wag of a tail.

"I like being away from all the hubbub. I can hear myself think. Isn't that a wonderful thing?" She said, nosing him happily.

Icarus looked away for a moment, realizing that he did worry quite a lot about the white female before him. But it wasn't like that with the other wolves... "I still worry that something's happened." He mumbled lightly looking back at her closed eyes. For a moment he wondered what colour lay under those lids.

Icarus chuckled at her words and in response laid down in the flowers, rolling onto his back and showing his white underbelly. "Yes, the peace of the forest is calming, especially when there aren't too many disrupting it." He rolled onto his side and grinned at Lalania, "The grass is comfy, too." Icarus playfully hit Lalania with his tail and laughing lightly. He had missed the chance for much fun when he was young, as the Alpha Tournament had taken up most of his youth, so in some ways he was still immature.

The blind wolf allowed a grin to spread across her muzzle at his unconscious worry. She sniffed out how close he was to her, and let one hind-leg kick him lightly in the side. Of course, her aim wasn't very good, but she wasn't looking to leave even the ghost of pain with her "love tap".

She poked her nose toward his, smelling him with a happy smile on her ivory face, hair splaying to each side with a haloing effect. "You, my Icarus, are as silly as a puppy, but that's your charm, I think. You aren't always serious. You know how to have fun. That's why.." She allowed her sentence to fade off as she gulped back her words with a shock. She laughed quietly, blushing softly beneath her fur at her stumble.

Icarus's tail wagged side-to-side instinctively, just happy by the presence of the femme before him. He rumbled lightly as he felt the touch of Lalania, finding his face heat up as well. At the same time he marveled at the grin that she held on her face for the moment, wanting it to remain there always.

His cerulean eyes watched her brightly, glad for the moment that his stare was hidden from her. As the white face of the fae came closer to him, he unwittingly reached forward and nuzzled her in return. Icarus surprised himself with such an act and turned away embarrassed for the moment. Still, he felt his eyes urge his head back towards the beautiful wolf. A smile overcame him as she spoke of him, feeling the heat rush to his cheeks at the same time. "Why...?" He asked at the sound of her voice trailing off, cocking his head to the side teasingly.

Icarus gave a light chuckle, allowing the topic to switch from her. He knew putting her on the spot would embarrass her. "If only I knew how to have fun like you do. I..." He said, looking around the meadow. "Wish I could have thought of coming to a meadow to roll around in flowers." The smile in his voice was evident, and he gave her a warm grin.

Lalania was rather startled, and felt her heart beating like a small drum within her chest. It took her several quiet moments before she was able to make a coherent sentence. She was clearly flustered at what she had been wanting to say, because it was horrid! She had barely met this wolf, this male with such a calm ego, yet he had sincerely stolen her heart and wits. She wasn't quite sure what to think.

When she had finally calmed herself, she found herself laying her muzzle across his back, somehow comforted by the warm fur. "But you are here now. You could be as much of a puppy as you would like. Play in the flowers! Be king of the rock! Be you, Icarus. Be who you want yourself to be, when the eyes of no one can watch." She laughed loudly at her own statement, for her eyes could not witness it either. This, she could not help, made her rather sad. Though she had grown with this great deformity, she still longed to see things as the world was. She wanted to see the sunlight as it was, and the flowers she could only smell instead of see. She knew the names of the colors, but she did not know the difference between them.

"Icarus..." She muttered after a moment of hesitation, " What is your world like?"

Icarus watched with amused eyes as the silver-white wolf fretted for a bit. Something inside him tightened as he found he was glad he could affect her in such a way. Still, like a newborn pup, he had no idea what kind of feeling this was. He felt drawn to her, but in a way different than with the rest of his pack.

Suddenly her warmth was upon his back and it took all that he had to prevent his back from bristling in surprise. Heat pulsed out of him instead, almost matching the constant beat of his heart. White ears swiveled at her voice, Icarus found her words wise and unique. He grinned at her, his tail swishing side to side, barely brushing against the thin blades of grass. Tempted to reply, he stopped at the sound of sadness in her voice. Icarus twisted his body so that his head could turn to face her without moving her head too much. Cerulean eyes watched her in silence for a moment, white eye-lids blinking over his eyes as he thought about her question.

"It's green, green like the grass smells. Brown too, like the rough bark." Icarus's brows furrowed, wondering how to describe the forest to a wolf who knows no colour. "Ah, don't forget blue. The sky above us, that goes on forever, is as cool as the water. The blue of the Lux Lake." He rumbled lightly, hoping that somehow a picture could form in Lalania's mind. He white-tipped tail curled around him, trying to brush against the ivory fae in a comforting way.

Lalania laid quite prone against him, a smile forming on her muzzle as Icarus tried to explain what the world was like outside her pit of darkness. She found herself imagining the world lit up with the coolness of the water, little sleek creatures moving just out of her view of imagination. Perhaps they were fish of some sort. She let out a small giggle of laughter, a rumble in her throat against Icarus' back.

She sniffed at Icarus' ears with a smile, laughing like a small pup would at a good treat. "Icarus...you are very silly to indulge me. I am but a laughing stock to many a wolf for not being able to see...thus not being able to hunt. It makes me...not a wolf!"

She rolled onto her side, her tail thumping ever-so-lightly, smiling, "But...would you indulge me always? It makes me happy." She found herself feeling halfway between sad and hopeful, unsure what she had asked. She was, in a way, lonely.

Icarus chuckled as he felt the light giggle of the fae that lay on his back. He was glad about it, it likely meant that she was matching his description to something, at least. His lips curled up in a wolfish smile as he felt the connection between himself and Lalania grow. He didn't understand it fully, but for a wolf he had known for such a short period of time, he was surprised how attached he had grown. Of course, this was something he would not readily admit.

White ears flicked reflexively as the light air passed by them into her nose. Icarus suddenly had the urge to scratch them, but he suppressed it. "You are still a wolf. We rely more on our smell than our eyes." He said in a soothing voice, stating just a fact about their kind. Still, he felt bad for the femme. Lalania wouldn't ever be able to see the flowers she rolled in, or see the patterns of her pack, or even his own for that matter. Icarus sighed quietly, knowing that he would one day describe himself to her, hoping that she would have at least a vague image of him somehow.

He turned his pale-blue eyes towards her and looked at her for a few moments, basking in the comfort that she and the forest around them provided. "If it makes you happy, then I promise to." Icarus said in a smooth voice, only then noticing how true his own words were.
