I'm curious about your opinions. For the past year or so, I've tried to make a solid group of friends. I'm generally and outgoing and friendly person. Since I'm very involved in my school's music program, I've become friendly with a bunch of people in the program. We're pretty much together the whole time. But I've noticed a somewhat disturbing trend that just continues even outside of the program.

My girl friends end up ditching me or backstabbing me. There's always drama whether it be leadership position, boyfriends, or she said he said. There's ALWAYS drama. And if there isn't drama, it's the calm before the storm. There are also some girls that just ditch me. And I know that there are flaws on both sides (I'm not saying I'm perfect), but it's happened continuously throughout my time in the program.

My guy friends, on the other hand, have remained my true blue, loyal friends. There's drama, but it always blows over in the end. Unlike my friendships with other girls, it never really lingers. We all get past it. Some of my best honest to God friends are guys. Only one of my female friends have that special bond with me after three years.

So, I'm curious ladies, is this the same for everyone? Do you tend to have more male friends than female friends? Do you think a girl having more male friends is acceptable? Or is it the opposite?

Wow, that's such a big post. I'm sorry. I'm running on caffeine and ice cream.

I have a few more girl friends then guys... But I get along better with guys. The girls that I hang with. We tend to like more things that guys would like so I think that is why we get along better with them.

Most of the girls that I have hung with usually ditch me probably out of a fact they may feel threatened by the fact I get along with their boyfriends.

I'm not bragging... I'm not pretty or anything. I think they just fear that I might take their guy from them.

But that's just my situation.

Man its been a while since I've been active, I apologize for being seemingly unfamiliar. ^_^;

I wanted to share something I noted about myself. As of now I'm a sophomore at college, and I always wondered my first year why more of my friends were guys. I mean, I always felt SO awkward when meeting girls, and had a lot of trouble establishing close and trusting friendships with girls, whereas with guys I could pal around with a lot more. Like, my best friends are guys, and I'll feel very comfortable talking to them about anything. Periods, sex, religion, and family stuff. And its really weird cause I never saw myself opening up to anyone about that sort of stuff in high school.

But in high school I was heavily bullied by girls. After much thought I realized that is the reason I find it harder to establish friendships with my own gender, its practically instinct at this point. Luckily, I've found some exceedingly nice girlies this year that have broken through my trust issues. smile I still have more guy friends, cause in general I have more fun hanging out with guys xD

So yes, I find this very acceptable. smile Coming to college, I've met people I know will be my life long friends, both male and female. But I will say I am the most comfortable with my friends of the masculine variety, and tend to have more heart to heart talks with them.
