Nawat padded through the forest, the crow familiar Kyprioth with her. Kyprioth at times took to flight to find the shiny objects and trinkets that she could perhaps take for herself to trade or keep.

She wasn't heading in any one direction but she was hoping to find someone, some wolf that might have similar interests as she. She wondered if there were other thieves like her. Who had certain ideals. The right way to steal and act.

Was there such a thing? Was there such a kindred soul? Or souls?

Nawat didn't know if she was headed in the right direction or not. But she needed to find some place soon so when she did steal she could do so and hide them efficiently.

User Image "Please! Please, anything, just return her safely to us!"

Loud pleads reverberated off the mounds and rocks that surrounded the rocky riverside that Verdauga had decided to haunt for the time being, before making the last leg of the journey towards the designated meeting place. The morning was a blustery one, wind brushing his brightly hued coat as he peered down his current perch, a high boulder carved by years of wind and rain. A small pup sat behind his legs, her natural creamy fur an odd contrast to his own. She was completely oblivious to her current situation, thinking it all a game. To her, and to her "captor" it was, he had no intentions of harming or keeping her and, no matter if her parents gave him what he wanted or not, he planned on turning her loose in the end.

"Ach, a 'ard bargain fer the lil' 'un, but I'll take it. Fer that." He pointed his dark nose in the direction of the creamy father's mate, who carried a horseshoe with her.

"Yer dau'er fer that, 'n we'll call et a deal."

"Fine, anything, just hand her over safely!" The darker female tossed the hefty trinket forward, it landing with a thud in the soft, moist earth.

Nawat raised her head as Kyprioth took flight high above her head. It must have seen something. She smelled others near and so it wouldn't surprise her if others were near.

She heard the cries of another wolf, and one suave voice getting something it wanted. She decided to find this suave guy and see what was happening.

As she crawled closer she saw the purple coated male with a small pup behind his own legs. She saw the pup's mother and father a way's away, throwing a shiny two legger trinket to the purple coat.

Once the pup and its family left she drew closer, remarking on the trade that just occurred.

"Nicely done." She tilted her head back in the direction that the family had left in.

He placed the pup down from his perch gingerly, taking care to be careful with his precious cargo, and watched her scamper towards her worried parents. They had a right to be worried, as a stranger had hold of their little pup and he mentally praised them as they bolted, carrying their youngster by the scruff.

If only his own mother had worried half as much, perhaps some of his siblings, her second litter, would have survived his warnings and the floods that swept them away.

He was on alert as Nawat approached and was not surprised by her sudden voice. In fact, he didn't even bother glancing at her, yet. Instead, he regarded her with a tilt of his ear and a grin as he watched the young family disappear.

"Ya thinkin' so, ain't too cliche? r'gardless, got me what I were wantin' an' all."

"Cliche? I'm not sure about that. Whatever gets you what you want."

Nawat hoped that the wolf wouldn't have really hurt the pup though. That wouldn't have been nice.

"So you like to take things or what?"

Nawat was curious. Was this wolf like her? Did he take what he wanted? Did he prefer not

"The name's Nawat. What's yours?"

"S'true, s'true, so longs it's within reason, I'm guessin'~"

He chuckled lightly and turned his bright eyed gaze towards the stranger, and while doing so, he placed a hefty paw over his prize. He wasn't about to have it taken away, not when he had just gone through so much trouble to get it. Tricking little ones, that's the easy part. The parents can be, however, unpredictable.

"Oh, aye, I loooove t'take things, s'good fun. Why, y'gotta 'ankrin' for it, or ya wantin' t'fight?" He seemed unworried by the older wolf, though her intentions were not quite clear to him, yet.

"Nawat? Pleased 't meet 'ya~ I'm Verdauga."

"I like to take things, when they suit me," Nawat replied. She decided to ask him. Maybe he knew of a good place. Or he might know of other kindred wolves.

"Nice to meet you too." Nawat grinned. "I won't be fighting you. I too like to take things. So we seem to enjoy the same things.

She decided to take the chance and ask. Worse off she'd just find herself moving on quickly. "You know of any place that likes wolves like us? Maybe a place to put loot or maybe a pack?"
PostPosted: Thu Jul 08, 2010 10:53 pm

She was very straight forward and to the point, something the young, southern wolf was unused to. In nearly every situation or run in he had had since his naive days, when he fled the pack that was destined to fail, banter and chitchat was expected in some sort of roundabout fashion. Her bluntness was almost endearing to him, he liked a creature that was straight with him.

"Oi, I be takin' we're a like-minded pair, then?" He approached her assertively, but not unkindly, sniffing and taking in her scent. He smelled nothing wrong, no illness, sickness, or falsities. She seemed trustworthy enough, and if not... Well, he was confident that he could deal with her on his own.

"I'm gonna be lettin' ya in onna wee bit 'o a secret, dear~ There's gonna be a pack fer th' likes 'o us."

Nawat didn't see the point of being sly or clever unless she needed to. This didn't seem to be the case so Nawat wanted to know. How did Verdauga know of the pack? Was he going to be in it? Was his father the beta? The alpha?

She grinned, her eyes lit up. "So this pack. Is it near? Do you know who the alpha is so I can talk? I'm looking for like-minded wolves like us but I've gotta make sure they're not wrong."

"I don't steal from others what they've stolen except for a very small exception and I don't take kindly to those who take from me what I have. I have my standards."

"M'dear~" He chuckled lightly, secretly gladdened by her response, yet at the same time curious in her meaning, "yer lookin' at 'im."

It wasn't too terribly far, now, though not at all close by any means. Far out west, were he knew by word of maw that few traveled. Near a water source, out of harms way. It would make for a lovely home base, a place for times of rest. His body shuddered with the thrill of the thought of it. His dreams were coming nearer to realization with each passing sun.

"Ain't nothin' wrong with what I'm all 'bout, if ya get my meanin' an' all. We got codes what all members're 'spected t' foller. Y'don' steal from packmates or th' ones what are worse off 'n yerself, lil 'uns ain't t'be 'armed, an' y'don' kill lest yer life depends on et Them's my rules, plain as day."

Nawat blinked but didn't show much else to show her surprise. She wasn't surprised by his age, but by the fact that fortune had practically shone upon her. She found the wolf she had been hoping to meet!

She quirked her lips, and told him "Sounds mighty fine to me."

She looked him in the eyes and asked, "Any chance you're willing to accept me in this pack of yours?"
