My mom played me the disk "We're Only In It for The Money" and I love it. It's so wierd and funny. The lyrics make fun of the fake hippie culture that existed in the late 60s and early 70s in places like SanFransisco("hey my hair's getting good at the back!"). I particularily like FLOWER PUNK and WHAT'S THE UGLIEST PART OF YOUR BODY? Any Zappa fans here?

Zappa is good stuff. I recomend "Billy the Mountin". The song is about 30 minutes long and involves the story of a mountin named Billy and his wife Ethel (a tree growing out of his shoulder) and thier adventures in travel.

Absolutely amazing guy.
Can't determine what my favorite Zappa song is. There's so many of em! He put out like 100 albums or something!
"Inca Roads" off One Size Fits All, that's my favorite studio Zappa. But a bunch of it was cobbled together from live stuff. Just goes to show how intense he was.
Of course, I like the extended guitar soloing and whatnot. A lot of his live stuff was similar to "Willie the Pimp" off Hot Rats; craziness.

I'm listening to "Peaches en Regalia" right now. smile I haven't checked out too much Mother's stuff yet. I'm really into his 70's work.

My mom saw him live in 1973 doing that stuff He had a helicopter drop him off and pick him up outside the hall Stonybrook,NY Think he was touring to raise money for the movie. She says he seemed a bit jaded with performing.

I saw Zappa years ago. He was very good, live. I wish I saw the other two shows he played in the run I went to.
