No special duties have been noted for the 10th Division.
In the Bount and Arrancar arcs, whenever there is a problem in the human world, Captain Hitsugaya is the leader of a squadron including Lieutenants and high-level seated Shinigami dealing with problems in the Human's world; this may be the 10th division's duty. However, this may only be for investigative matters due to all prior matters of Karakura belonging to unranked Shinigami of 13th Division. (including Rukia Kuchiki and Zennosuke Kurumadani)
In omake chapters, Hitsugaya is usually seen doing office work, signing papers and filing reports, a job actually intended for his lieutenant. Hitsugaya takes the trouble in doing so, however, as his lieutenant is usually lazing around and nobody is more adept at doing the work. Hitsugaya is also the one who took charge of looking into the records Aizen searched prior to leaving Soul Society.
