Feel free to lay out your battle with the Pokemon Master Red in HG/SS.

My Battle vs. Red

My Pokemon (In team order)

Sandslash lv. 70
Item: Focus Sash
Role: Stealth Rock/HM Slave

Vaporeon lv. 71
Item: Mystic Water
Role: Water STAB/Absorb

Mewtwo lv. 80
Item: Twisted Spoon
Role: Special Sweeper

Lugia lv. 65
Item: Sharp Beak
Role: Also Special Sweeper

Gallade lv. 70
Item: Life Orb
Role: Physical Sweeper

Dragonite lv. 60
Item: Dragon Fang
Role: Physical Sweeper

Battle Start

Red sends Pikachu. I send Sandslash
Pikachu uses Iron Tail and misses. I set up Stealth Rock and begin to pound out with Strength until Iron Tail KO's Sandslash, leaving Pika in the deep yellow. Sent out Mewtwo for revenge kill with Psychic.

Red sends Snorlax. I send Gallade.
Snorlax takes a small chunk of Stealth Rock Damage before feeling the fury of Close Combat. OHKO.

Red sends Charizard. I send Vaporeon.
Charizard takes 1/2 max HP damage from Stealth Rock. Charizard uses Flare Blitz. Not very effective. Vaporeon uses Surf. OHKO.

Red sends Venasaur. I send Mewtwo.
Venasaur takes a small hit from Stealth Rock. OHKO with Psychic

Red sends Blastoise. Mewtwo remains on the field.
Blastoise takes a small piece of damage from Stealth Rock. Mewtwo strikes with Thunderbolt. Blastoise barely survives, uses Blizzard, and is KO'd by hail. Mewtwo at just under 1/2 HP

Red sends Lapras. Mewtwo remains on the field.
Mewtwo uses Thunderbolt.Lapras in deep red. Lapras uses Blizzard. Mewtwo barely holds on. Mewtwo uses Thunderbolt again while Red uses full restore. Mewtwo KO'd by hail, lapras in deep yellow.

Sent out Gallade. Gallade uses close combat and KO's Lapras.

Final tally: Sandslash and Mewtwo KO'd, but the win is mine. 3nodding Only needed Mewtwo, Vaporeon, Sandslash and Gallade. Gotta love Stealth Rock ^.^

Mine was much more simple than that...

Me: Sends out Garchomp, level 75 with Choice Band.

Attack of choice, EQ.

everyone besides Charizard proceeds to get OHKO'd with EQ. Sent out Starmie to finish off Charizard with Surf.

i cant beat him. xp why do his pokemon have to be in the high 80's when hes surrounded by a bunch of level high 40's and low 50's wild pokemon, it throws everything out of wack. i was horribly unprepared. it was the biggest dissapointment in my history of battling trainers. congratz on ur victory.

Well, that's kinda the point. It makes you think he will be in the 60's or a reasonable level, then you black out after losing to one of his level 80 Pokemon. I haven't beat him in HeartGold yet, but I doubt I will try.
