So with the recent mysterious small patch, I have been unable to access the European servers. I use one client, at first I had a US based client and would switch over to EU, but yesterday I installed EU and decided I'd see if it'd let me switch over to US.
I can only assume the US realms have a patch that the EU realms do not... because every time I try to switch over to the US realms via changing the realmlist file, it'll prompt me to download some patch. Any idea what this patch is and what it does?
Edit: Yeah I know they don't condone changing the realmlist file, but it's always worked for me in the past and its easier than having two clients.

I have no idea either. It wouldn't work for me for a while. It would be at 100% and then say "Update failure!" Until I went into my files and opened Blizzard Updater. I even searched it, nothing came up. I think it might be some sort of pre-cata event like the other expansions. That'd be neat.

I think it might have something to do with the 24-hour downtime the US realms had a couple of weeks ago. This didn't occur in Europe, so it could be that although nothing was visibly added, they changed some of the current patch/version that is not the same as the EU version

Ooh... I never even connected the two but I downloaded a patch recently and since then haven't been able to access the EU test realm I'd been playing on.
