The Touchings:
The distant sea egg
Hello, you doing alright there? This medium-large egg - probably brown by its size - gives out a feeling of welcome and caring for each and every candidate. It feels like a very cheerful sort, and merely touching the shell will be enough to make most people smile a bit. While there is also a feeling of confidence but its not a pushy aggressive sort of confidence by any means. A very sensative candidate might feel that the egg is learning as much about them as they are about it, but its certainly not an unpleasant feeling. This egg sits amongst the main group and is tilted slightly towards the orbiting egg as though watching over it.
Narisa: The distant sea egg was where she found herself next. As soon as her hand brushed against the medium-large egg, a smile formed along her lips. It was a strangely nice feeling to go from the previous two to this egg. This one was very welcoming and held an air of confidence. However it wasn't the sort of arrogant confidence either. Oh, you will be a very lovely dear. Narisa still felt that small smile on her face as she let her hand run along the egg just a little long before bidding it a silent farewell in order to move on and allow another the chance to spend time with this egg.
Melina: Smiling, she moved on to yet another egg, following what her fellow candidates were doing yet starting to wince as she took her steps - the sands were hot! She was getting closer to the center of the group now, approaching the distant sea egg. As soon as she touched this egg, a gratifying smile made its way across her face. Here was a dragon that was calm, friendly, assured of itself, and......there was something else, but it seemed just out of her grasp. She spent a bit more time with this egg, relishing how welcoming it was, and how it seemed to treat all of them this way. She looked up and noticed that a few people had visited the queen egg already - was she supposed to have done that first? Ah well, she'd leave the little queen for the very last. The best for last, as they say.
Balt: Forgetting about the swirling egg, Balt greeted the distant sea egg next. At every Touching he had a system of starting in the center, where the most outgoing eggs usually lay, touching the largest ones first then moving onto the medium and small. He also made a point of going out to the edges of the Sands to touch the more distant eggs, though he usually paid less attention to them. This egg didn’t seem particularly special but its warm aura still brought on a faint smile. Dragons could be so much kinder than humans.
Eliza: The next egg she encoountered was the Distant Sea egg who was leaning over a little bit towards the Orbiting egg in an almost protective fashion. It was a medium sort of egg but edging towards the larger scale - which eliza guess probably meant a brown and so a dragon for the boys..but it was still on the edge sizewise so she could be wrong. In any case Eliza didn't plan on skipping any of the eggs in the clutch and eagarly laid her hands on the shell to see who might be inside - and was instantly welcomed by a cheerfull and kind feelings - Eliza got the feeling that thi dragon really actually cared about everyone and thier well being. That would be a dragon anyone would be proud to have, who wouldn't abolutely love such a nice personality? And caring about others was certainly a trait that was good to have. You'll be a bnefit to the Weyr to be sure! She thought to the egg before moving off to the next in line.
Ceta: She moved around the eggs she had already touched and closer to the central cluster that held the Queen and a few of the larger large eggs in the Clutch. There was one on the other side of the orbiting egg she hadn't touched yet, and so with a hint of apprehension she rested her hand against the distant sea egg and was relieved. This one was again interested in her well-being, although she wasn't entirely sure it would be meant for her. As with the guiding light egg, though, that didn't seem to matter much to it.
Zerivon: Moving onward Zerivon came up beside the distant sea egg, and tried to size it up inside his mind. Looked like about the right size to be a brown so again he doubted this one would be for him but just as he'd greeted the other large eggs he laid a hand gently on its shell... Well it certainly seemed to like him; he felt as though it was asking after his wellbeing after his encounter with the burning egg. Could it know that he'd just come from there, or was it the caring protective sort in general? Well, whatever the reason it was nice to encounter another friendly presence even if it probably was a brown inside.
Guaden: The distant sea egg, being clustered with the oribiting and guiding light eggs as it was but clearly larger than either, drew both his interest and his speculation. A Brown? Small Bronze maybe? Gauden took ample time to investigate the open, friendly temperament of this dragon as the dragon, likewise, seemed to study Gauden. Or so he assumed, since it felt eager when he began to "question" it as best as he could without words.
Jaydan: That mean that the Distant sea egg was next and just a little more hesitant after the last eggs anger Jaydan laid his hand on the shell..and sighed blissfully. Doing better now he told the egg honestly as he bathed in the egs kind and caring sort of nature. Thi was going to be a good dragon he tol himself a nice and kind and caring beast - in fact jaydan almost didn't want to move on and go to the next eggs, leaving the almost protective circle of this one was hard to do given the mixed dealings he'd had with some of it's siblings - but if he stayed too long he'd likey get yelled at, or kicked out or who knows what and so reluctanly, letting his hand trail along the eggs shell for as long a he could reach it as he moved away.
Nawa: Next up was the distant sea egg, yet another very likable egg. By and large, it was an excellent clutch so far, and she was certainly looking forward to the Hatching. This was welcoming, too, and seemingly interested in her (and everyone else who touched it, she assumed) and her wellbeing. What a courteous, wonderful dragon must be inside! Judging by its size, it was probably going to Impress to a boy, but there could always be a surprise.
Ariel:Her next victim was the distant sea egg. Its welcoming, cheerful, and caring attitude reminded her of herself (or at least the sweetheart she was pretending to be). The egg was amiable enough, but Ariel was not sure she liked being reminded that she was presently living a lie. Maybe others would smile at this dragonette, but she saw no reason to stick around here.
Lilias: The Distant Sea Egg made her grin. It was quite interested in her and Lilias found this gratifying as she was interested in all the eggs as well. It seemed to generally care how she felt and Lilias felt more cheerful for it. She liked this egg as well.
Allaxon: The Distant Sea Egg felt soothing but not altogether too interesting to Allaxon, he liked the confidence but didn't feel any sense of inner fire from this egg. Overall it was quite mellow and would make someone a fine and cheerful companion, if not a partner in crime.
Ruvan:
Moving on after a few moments, Ruven approached the distant sea egg. Something gave him the impression that this egg and the previous two were part of a set. Each of the trio had a unique identity. This particular one was curious, cheerful, and self-confident. Ruven approved – those were all enormously positive qualities. The creature inside struck him as the “big brother type”. Even though it lacked the impatience of the burning egg, Ruven wagered that this egg would be one of the first to hatch.
Lena: The next egg she approached was tilted towards the one she'd just left, and she placed her hands next on the distant sea egg. Another welcoming, cheerful sort—this was quite a well-tempered clutch, wasn't it? It seemed inquisitive as well, a trait Lena certainly approved of. She only hoped there were enough candidates who were the warm, caring sorts at this rate! Not that she'd had any encounters to complain of with her fellows.
The Hatching:
As the three greens made their way towards the candidates the distant sea egg started to rock and crack in places. Distracted once more the orbiting green stopped and turned to head back over towards it, but the guiding light green quickly stepped in front of her and nudged her gently back towards the candidates. The orbiting green, however, didn't seem too interested in good advice and tried to get past her sister to head over towards the mid-sized egg. Without any sign of frustration the guiding light hatchling stepped in front of her again and gave her another nudge, this time rumbling encouragement at the same time: it really was time for her to go to her rider now. Giving a slight huff the orbiting green seemed to assent, and once more turned towards the candidates as the distant sea egg continued to crack.
As the guiding light and orbiting greens reached the male candidates the latter flopped down and rolled onto her back with a cheerful snort, seeming to enjoy the heat of the sand. For her part, the guiding light green sat down beside her sister, but rather than looking up at the boys her gaze turned over to the female candidates. Back amongst the unhatched eggs the distant sea egg rocked and cracked a bit more, and eventually burst outward to reveal what was unmistakably a massive blue. The egg had been big enough to contain a brown and this pale-hided young fellow was too, perhaps not a large brown but he was certainly bigger than any blue to hatch at Trine for quite some time.
Giving a cheerful trumpet he started off towards the male candidates, and was met half way by the orbiting green who had got back up and wandered off again. Much as the guiding light green had done he nudged her, although it was more of a big-brotherly pointed but careful shove than the guiding light's gentle nuzzles. As the guiding light green joined them again and gave the orbiting green more nudges of her own, she took the hint and turned back to the male candidates once more. Just as it seemed she was going to be distracted again by her siblings over at the feeding tables, her gaze caught on a particular young man in the middle of the pack of boys and she charged forward with a piercing squeal of joy. It would probably be a good idea for anyone between her and Tarel to get out of the way.
Impression time
With Lunath finally Impressed, the distant sea blue and guiding light green turned around to inspect the rest of the unhatched eggs. The luminous egg gave another twitch as if reacting to their scrutiny, but it seemed that the young queen still wasn't ready to leave her shell just yet. The scattered stars egg started to move then, and the guiding light green started towards it but was quickly stopped by her brother who gave a reassuring rumble and nudged her back towards the candidates. To this the green dragonet dipped her head gracefully and, turning away, she padded towards the female candidates.
The blue meanwhile kept his eyes on the scattered stars egg, which soon cracked open to reveal a larger than average green. Shaking herself off the dragonet stepped out of the remains of her shell and then lay down in the sand, turning her head slowly this way and that. The distant sea blue gave a questioning chirp, tilting his head and taking a few paces towards her, perhaps meaning to make sure she was alright. Before he got very far the scattered stars green gave an almost inaudible hum, causing the blue to halt and give a satisfied rumble before turning back towards the candidates apparently assured that she was doing just fine. Reaching the boys once more he moved amongst them with confidence until he reached Saykiro. Giving a happy bugle he bumped his head against the boy's knees before looking up into his eyes.
"Alright Saykiro, we can go now, I think the others will be alright without your Neptanth. Can we get some meat? I'm starved!"
Neptanth has arrived!
Name: Neptanth
Colour: Blue
Inspired by: Neptune
Personality: Blue Neptanth is a jovial, caring blue who has an easy confidence to him – much like a big brother. Loyal and supportive, this dragon has a soft spot for fuzzy and tiny – which, to this oversized blue, is pretty much everything on four legs. He's happy to take direction but also encourages His to put himself out there a little more – observation is great but you need to interact to make friends! Indeed, Neptanth is also somewhat of an empath and he required someone who have a gentle heart and understood emotional rhythms. He'd likely make a great Searchdragon one day: he's attentive, brotherly, and has a knack for getting a correct sense of a person. However, first impressions are most important to this blue because while he's forget particulars like names and places, the quality of an encounter will flavour his opinions from then on. Stand up for yourself and he'll respect you, be mild and he'll want to protect you, make an arse of yourself and he'll consider you foolish... if you cross him or His, he'll likely never trust you again.
Why me?Saykiro and Neptanth are a friendly pair, and as loyal as anyone could ask for. Neptanth will encourage Saykiro to come out of his shell in large groups so that if the young man's observations and input aren't missed. As kind and empathic as his big blue bondmate, Saykiro has the potential to be as good a Searchrider as Neptanth has to be a Searchdragon once he matures and gains a little confidence; new candidates will have nothing to fear if picked out by this pair!

NeptuneNeptune is the eighth and farthest planet from the Sun in the Solar System. Named for the Roman god of the sea, it is the fourth-largest planet by diameter and the third-largest by mass. Neptune is 17 times the mass of Earth and is slightly more massive than its near-twin Uranus, which is 15 times the mass of Earth but not as dense. On average, Neptune orbits the Sun at a distance of 30.1 AU, approximately 30 times the Earth–Sun distance. Its astronomical symbol is ♆, a stylized version of the god Neptune's trident.
Discovered on September 23, 1846, Neptune was the first planet found by mathematical prediction rather than by empirical observation. Unexpected changes in the orbit of Uranus led Alexis Bouvard to deduce that its orbit was subject to gravitational perturbation by an unknown planet. Neptune was subsequently observed by Johann Galle within a degree of the position predicted by Urbain Le Verrier, and its largest moon, Triton, was discovered shortly thereafter, though none of the planet's remaining 12 moons were located telescopically until the 20th century. Neptune has been visited by only one spacecraft, Voyager 2, which flew by the planet on August 25, 1989.
