Well we just had a contest about this that didn't do so well but maybe as a discussion this could do better. So what was your introduction to fae? Was it reading a book of faery tales, meeting one, hearing about them, what was your first mention or incling of faeries?

Mine was that my dad used to read me Brian Froud books. I learned as much as I could from him about them and then when I was about 4 I met a faery and she introduced me to some of her friends.

I learned about them with my longtime experience as one! I also learned about through books. Like the Brothers' Grimm Fairy Tales! My first novel series I ever read about them was "Artemis Fowl." To this day that is my favorite book series of all time! I love and believe in the fae with all my heart and soul! I can never learn enough about them or from them! They are my family and friends!

My friends and I were being stalked by one >.>
Aaaand my friend was path working and met several ^^
Sadly I was a very sheltered child though and my natural abilities to sense things was incredibly diminished (Raised in a christian school where if such things are even believed in you are EVIL [no not catholic think a mix of church of god and Pentecostal *shudder*])
I wish I could interact with them though considering it seems as though I am slowly becoming one

I met them during one of my many flights through upper reality. I have to say, they were very polite and nice to me. Very few races within that realm are as such. I was treated like family, and even had my very first taste of sweetened lemon water from them. Here in normal reality, I make the same drink with boiling water, sugar and lemon juice. Deliciously sweet drink

Books were definatly an influence for me. That, and my friend convinced me that I was one. Apparently, I was a faerie princess, but I'm not so sure of that now. Her sister Teddy taught me how to make "pixie dust" which was basicly crushed leaves and grass mixed with dew.

well i have always been a big fantasy reader so when i started reading my first Faerie book it spoke to me, i dont know how or why to me but the next thing i know all im checking out are Fae books and im printing off pages and pages of lists and descriptions of the different races. i felt like i was learning about something that was open to anyone who could open their mind enough to look and i did but alas i never saw one...what i could give to have the Sight.... emo

Well. I've always been an open-minded child, and my family is not new to things paranormal, spiritual, and realms, and "covens". But because of my partake in nature and love for it, I had to find a true meaning of why I had this serious attachment to Earth, nature, etc. Faeries. When I was 11, I felt that I had a gift, to understand the hearts of plants and trees. I love it, and now, I realized that I've connected with the Fae and my Faery Spirit, Butterflee.
I also have my great share of Faery Tales.

Hmm, a good question, but I need to think WAY back in order to answer this question. Heh. sweatdrop

I can't really say when the fascination with the fey started, I just know that I've always had an interest in them since I was really little. I had a small book of flower fairy poetry with beautiful illustrations that I absolutely loved to pieces (almost literally)

I've never actually encountered the fey face-to-face physically, but I have gotten the sense of them being present before in certain situations, and I think this is, initially, what got me so interested in learning more about them via books. I used to leave things out for them as well, although I haven't done that lately (to my utter shame)

I've been trying to read more as of late. One of the books I'm reading is on fairy that I found at a small bookshop.

I've been told that one of my spirit guides is of the fey, although I have yet to establish full contact yet. (which is my fault as I've been very naughty and haven't been practicing like I should be!)

I awoke one morning, I was about seven, and I saw a small man standing on my chest. I didn't worry, and I didn't freak out. His name is Theryx, and he watches me while I sleep. He's a pixie.

Wow. You're a lot calmer than I would have been. eek Especially at age 7. But perhaps you got a sense from him that he didn't mean you harm...(sorry, I'm just speculating at this point)

I can't even remember the first time I heard of faeries. My mind was occupated with things I can't recall when I was little, but I do remember making offerings to entities out of whatever natural things I had on hand...making things, too, I was very interested in potion-making(But I kinda blame harry potter for that one).
My mother's always had a magical aura around her, all my friends automatically feel more relaxed in my house she filled full of plants and crystals and natural light. Both my parents are pretty much hippies. xd They always encouraged me to read and draw, and fairy tales are my favorites.
It might be silly, but I've always felt the wind loved me.

It's hard to say. Just whenever I feel the wind blowing it felt to me like someone holding me and telling me they love me, giving me encouragement when I need it, ect. >////<;; To be specific I've always felt the wind was in love with me, even back...well, I don't know when I first felt that, since elementary school, I suppose.
