I really thought about it long. Just when a goth cut himself, he is a goth, because he felt so. The different between Emo and goth is just that the Emo only is in love for the darkness and mystic thing around us. A goth doesn't love... he know that he lives in darkness and a mystical world. He opened his eyes for something the most ppl. dont see.
So what we are doing is totaly unimportant... the thing that counts is that we are believe in our view of things. And when we see that the death is apon us... we should greet him. ^_^

Goth fashion is stereotyped as a dark, sometimes morbid, eroticized fashion and style of dress. Typical gothic fashion includes dyed black hair, dark eyeliner, black fingernails, black period-styled clothing; goths may or may not have piercings. Styles are often borrowed from the Elizabethan, Victorian or medieval period and often express Catholic or other religious imagery such as crucifixes or ankhs. The extent to which goths hold to this style varies amongst individuals as well as geographical locality, though virtually all Goths wear some of these elements.
There is some overlap in fashion, especially when it comes to wearing of the colour black. However, emo fashion seems to have more of a focus on androgyny, that is having no gender value, which is characterized by both genders having extremely similar looks. With gothic fashion, females tend to emphasize femininity more with skirts, dresses, corsets and similar erotic wear. plus emos are just whiney little pricks who say they want to kill themselves but dont have the guts to go through with it

If a Goth cuts themself it might to others mean "emo" but no it doesn't MAKE you emo. Cutting yourself never really means automatically emo, many people who cut themselves don't consider themselves emo. So if your Goth and you cut yourself you can still be a Goth just know that others might consider you emo if you do cut yourself. Your still a Goth, Cutting yourself wont change anything about that.

Goth's no better than to judge for a real gothic knows judgement all to well....We are judged by people all the time and we know the pain it brings, but we learn to ignore it. Now emo is emotional, their feelings are my sensitive and they do tend to be more sad than gothics. I am emo, but I don't complain and want to die. I am also a Romantic Goth. I love poetry, I easily get upset, I love the spirits who are lost in Reincarnation process, and you have to understand that not all people are the same.

I love poetry about love and death, hate and suicide, pain and life. I love red and black roses with blood drops. And goth's do like the darkness and mystical wonders out in this world and the other worlds, but as I said eariler it all depends on what goth you are.

You guys are kinda...all wrong. Goth is not so much a fashion as it is a stemming from a Musical genre that first surfaced in the 80's. It split from punk-anarchic rock. If you listen to Marilyn Manson, you are not Goth. If you listen to Nine Inch Nails, you are not Goth. Death and darkness is an often natural subheading for the Goth, it summarizes our inherit and personal connection to the macabre. We express ourselves with alternative and eccentric clothing. And being Goth has nothing to do with cutting yourself. You are Goth if you love the music and know where it came from in the first place. You are Goth if you embrace and feel the connection of the night. If not, you are a poser. Being goth is not black and white.

goth isnt something you can be or not be by cutting yourself or some other crap like that, and i have to agree with some of this s**t but some things are more wrong. you can't just be called emo because you cut yourself, there's a difference, and you can't just be goth because you cut yourself, again i say there is a difference. goth is dark brooding and hatred by steriotypical nature, and emo is well yess short for emotionel. and yes the groops do stem off from music and a bunch oif other s**t brought about the creation and spread of gothic and emo culture. still we're in the same boat when it comes to other people's opinions of us. in general normals see goth and think one word, freak, they see emo and think weirdo. either way people are all bastards.
the main question though, yes if you cut yourself you are considered more emo then you are goth. though goth and emo are more of a point of veiw and a lifestyle. you cut yourself you cut yourself, doesn't make a difference to wether you're goth or emo, we're all just freaks in this ******** up world. that said i'm going to settle with no. it doesn't make a difference if you cut yourself. i think cutting yourself is a little nuts, if you ask me, but hey i really wouldn't give a flip if someone cut themselves or not.
and yes i agree with the statement there are different types of goth, and even though what that one guy said about clothiung is true it's not a given, saying this i don't mean that you have to ware that s**t to be goth or emo. (don't think i'm calling it s**t, thats pretty much my word for stuff). you can dress like a normal human being, (not that there's anything wrong with that stuff i wish i could dress more like a goth but...) and still be gothic or emo. i'm gonna shut up now because damn i have never said that much, even in real life.

THANK YOU one of the first people on this thread with the knowledge to know what goth is! painful paradice goth isnt something you can be or not be by cutting yourself or some other crap like that, and i have to agree with some of this s**t but some things are more wrong. you can't just be called emo because you cut yourself, there's a difference, and you can't just be goth because you cut yourself, again i say there is a difference. goth is dark brooding and hatred by steriotypical nature, and emo is well yess short for emotionel. and yes the groops do stem off from music and a bunch oif other s**t brought about the creation and spread of gothic and emo culture. still we're in the same boat when it comes to other people's opinions of us. in general normals see goth and think one word, freak, they see emo and think weirdo. either way people are all bastards. the main question though, yes if you cut yourself you are considered more emo then you are goth. though goth and emo are more of a point of veiw and a lifestyle. you cut yourself you cut yourself, doesn't make a difference to wether you're goth or emo, we're all just freaks in this ******** up world. that said i'm going to settle with no. it doesn't make a difference if you cut yourself. i think cutting yourself is a little nuts, if you ask me, but hey i really wouldn't give a flip if someone cut themselves or not. and yes i agree with the statement there are different types of goth, and even though what that one guy said about clothiung is true it's not a given, saying this i don't mean that you have to ware that s**t to be goth or emo. But to clarify as i did on another post, Self Mutilation is a serious thing, i admit i did it, have some scares from it, but i did it out of a phase of actual medical depression, and at the time, it helped, then it got worse and worse and i seeked medical help, they helped for only a short time, the medication they prescribed me stopped working in actuality made my depression worse, and i was thinking about starting to cut again but haven't since, Ive used other forms of outlet, other than self mutilation, if you are a cutter please, please seek medical help, not for me but for your self. sorry for ranting.
