Is anyone else bothered by the fact that the Zomg map and the regular Gaia maps dont match up.

I was bored and was doing a comparison, I wish they would update the world map. I see they added the Von Helson Manor a graveyard and a Halloween Town but thats about it.

XD
I noticed that some time ago and was wondering if Halloween town is going to be that new area attached to DMP.
But that first map is the OLD gaia map before zOMG came out. I really wish they would fix the site up more instead if playing around with other aspects.

All I can think to explain this is that there are parts of the zomg world that were never made into areas so the world is smaller and all close together instead of walking a long distance with nothing really in-between the areas. This could explain some of the problems not all and zomg. The zomg story line can include gaia’s but gaia story line does not and probably will reflect what is on zomg so they will never change things on the sight so it will never coincide with zomg

Yeah but Gaia seems to miss the revamp the old before you send out the new concept.
The other thing that bugs me is that there's all theses NPC's but their story-lines are so vague. Most of them appeared in Rigs but only if you spent butt loads of money on them would you even have an inkling of what transpired as far as a story plot is concerned.
I guess I miss when the Manga/Storyline was the main aspect of Gaia aside from the forums and even the town map which now is useless played a big role in the plots.

This, this, and this. It's nostalgic, but I miss using the World Map to get to shops, and when it used to be a big part of things like caroling and trick-or-treating... I know they still 'decorate' the towns, but they're just recycling the same images they used five years ago because very few people actually notice anymore. Now the Shop tab's killed the map completely and it's like they don't even care enough to redo it to fit the more recent changes to the physical Gaia world.

honestly I had never seen the actual gaia map. xD But now that I see it, I'm pumped up to see aekea on zomg. Although I guess I'm rather biased to it, since I've been with aekea since the start. >.> But anyway, idk it doesn't bothers me, I guess. I guess they might fix it later.

ya... its a little annoying. maybe that just gives them some room to expand zomg. it would be nice if it got expanded. my only purpose for zomg now is to get gold faster. some new areas to explore and a raise in the lvl cap would be cool.

That's so funny! I always felt like something was off, but nice work showing the exact places. Now its prolly gonna bother me more. I dont see how they can fix things without totally redoing one of the maps or inserting some weird dimension warp. The updated map doesn't make any more sense, even though they added more spots.

It would be nice if they zOMG map was the same as the gaia towns map. I wish we could have more map in zOMG too.

Yes, the Gaia World map is ancient and not nearly up-to-date, but you can still see similarities in zOMG's areas, like DMP and such. I see the World Map as kind of a rough, simplistic sketch done when they had little idea of how they were going to expand the place. Since the rest of the site forgot about it (not us, obviously) they decided to kick the Map off of the backburner and onto the floor, like they did with Towns and the housing feature.
However, y'all might find this interesting, the zOMG devs seem to be considering opening up different areas (some of them that were never even used when people were still using the map) in zOMG. Since they seem to look to the community for what areas to start working on next, like with the Boardwalk, I would say it is pretty safe to bet that we are going to see some new areas formerly only seen on the world map in-game. Whether or not they'll match up with the Map, I can't say. But I'm pretty excited about the possibility of seeing G-corp and Halloweentown in-game.

I hadnt thought of comparing them either but youd have to be really bored to think to do that.
