I had wondered why they weren't bothering to put Rory's name up on the titles or, y'know, anywhere at all. Turns out that's because he doesn't exist and never has done. Even though the doctor, apparently, can reach into the crack with perfect impunity. Cough.
Just as mediocre as part one in all other areas, only this time round I had the dubious pleasure of being awake for the duration. It was a story devoid for the most part of effective tension, characterisation and, most worryingly of all, any remotely sensible plot.
Also what's with scientist lizard suddenly becoming some sort of sympathetic hero of the piece? He frigging cut a guy open while he was alive and conscious. Apparently that's nowhere near as bad a crime as wanting to, gasp, avenge the death of your family. Seriously, the morality of this episode was all over the shop. And this was *before* the doctor failed even remotely to prevent one of his friends from being wiped from the very face of existence. Tsk tsk.

The same morality system came with Beast Below. But we all know that is exactly what goes on in every day life, for example just the other day this recently happened to me so please let me explain.
I walked into a sweet shop and the place got robbed while I was trying to purchase some Jelly Baby's for a small child. However, the owner was out of red Jelly Baby's but offered a large bag of gob stoppers for free but when I turned around the masked gunman hit the child in the head and urinated on his face (No Queens sending off little children to be eaten by space whales in this adventure) After spending 15mins at gun point the gunman gave himself up to the local police and I told him how he now has his entire life a head of him, patted him on the back and told him good luck. I then went back to the owner and punnished him for his lack of red Jelly Baby's and told him he should be shut down for his stupid ape like behavior. Turning around I noticed Steven Moffat cowering in the corner and writing down the events as they unfolded. Taking a quick glimpse at the top of the page I could clearly see a title to his notes. The Doctor and The Candy Stealing Stone Angels.
And could make out bits of line such as "Don't blink. Don't even blink. Blink and you're dead" / "You slept with Queen Elizabeth!" / "He moved closer to River Song, his hearts pumping the dance of the lords of time" / "Note to self: Lone Angel carrying sawnoff shotgun is not evil but needs money to survive." / "The Doctor doesn't like Jelly Baby's anymore and has purchased a bag of Quavers" / The Daleks come back in this story and bring the old Cybermen back with them + the Sontarans, the Judoon, the Hoix, the Weevils, the Uvodni, the Sycorax, the Silurians, the Autons, the Roboform and the Blowfish." just as the doctor is about to be overcome by odds against his life, Amy walks into the shop and see's the obvious that if you throw a glass mirror into a bag of quavers and then re rout power through a light bulb into a sonic screwdriver and aim it at the crack in the wall of the sweet shop it will send everything back to Vulcan!" / "Must re-name show to the Amy Pond Adventures"
So yes. They started calling this a Dr moment. When your faced with a situation and act like a complete t**t. If you don't believe me, look for "A Dr moment" via google.

I thought the episode itself was just okay, but I was really shocked at Rory dying! I do think he's coming back because imdb says he'll be in the finale, but also because there had to be a reason they've been focusing on Amy's ring so much. I'm really worried about the Tardis. It's such an important part of Doctor Who that I think anything that happens to it will be fixed somehow, but still. Maybe the Doctor's worridness is just rubbing off on me. Also, Ambrose kind of annoyed me.

Loved all the sets used for the Silurian settlement. Shame they hate humans so much, it would be a great place to vacation. LOL!
Even though I liked it, this episode made me really mad. I completely understand Ambrose's anger and reaction to Alaya's taunting...but she played right into her hands. With people [or creatures, as the case may be] like Alaya and Restac, there's no pleading or bargaining with them. They were far to set in their ways, far too angry. Self-fulfilling prophecy. They "knew" there was going to be a war, and that's exactly what they got [albeit, on a much smaller scale].
Didn't feel one way or another about Rory, but I'm sad he's gone.
Getting more and more anxious for the finale, especially with that broken bit of TARDIS from the crack. The anticipation is killing me.

I would like to point out the fact the scene in which Rory pushes the Doctor aside reminded me very much of Jenny doing the same to save the Doctor. cry

Rory will be miss i like him more then The Doctor Y_Y, but i was slightly Disappoint with this week episode i was expecting it to pick up pace alittle bit but it felt like there were testing to see if the old format from the original series would work. Weakest two parter so far in my eyes

The writing was all over the place. I don't even want to try justifying 90% of it and I don't feel like ranting, so I'll ignore that for the time being. :/
What intrigued me was the Tardis fragment being pulled OUT of the crack-that-erases-existence by the Doctor.
This suggests two things: 1. The Tardis went BOOM - possibly causing the crack in the first place? We don't know how much power the Tardis holds, only that it's a lot. 2. Stuff is in the crack and/or stuff can come out of it. Theory: Things don't get erased, more like displaced. It took a lot of effort and great pains to pull out the shard, but it's possible. Therefore, I am going to hypothesize that Rory has been displaced from our universe and the only harm he sustains is that of the Silurian shooting him.
Plus, I liked Rory and I feel he wasn't given a fair shake. Also, I don't think that's the last we've seen of him.

Also, Ambrose kind of annoyed me. I'm finding it harder and harder to "care" about this season, since it's more than 90% certain that the finale will involve un-doing the crack in space time, and everything will re-boot, and NONE of this season will have happened. Sigh.

What I don't understand is how the Doctor stuck his hand into the crack and pulled it out completely unscathed, but then, the crack ate Rory by sending its light tendrils to get him. gonk

Plot? Also, the crack didn't reach out at the Doctor, so... I'm still going firmly with my crack-displaces-people theory, rather than complete and permanent erasure.
