Hal'diira scowled darkly, rather put off that the dungeons of the Baen'duis Household was empty. Apparently while she had been dealing with some of the more demanding jobs in the House that the last supply of bodies had run out. That rather irked her. She didn't like it when those of her family stole her bodies and used them for their own games. It was bordering on theft, at least in her mind.
After all it had been due to her work that there were lesser drow for her family's malicious sadistic games. None of her family would even dare to step foot outside the protective gates of their House. None save her.
Really..they should know better than to deprive her of her games. Her games were the only thing that kept her going every day. And it didn't help matters any that she hadn't had a game in weeks. All because of that dratted mess with her sister's assassination. It really upset her that after all those weeks of work that she would have to go out and search out some new prey.
With a loud, frustrated sigh Hal'dirra turned towards the stairs and ascended them as quickly as she could. She gritted her teeth when one of her overweight cousins approached her and glared her down without saying a word. The cousin backed up, and left her alone though Hal knew that the oaf of a girl would go complain to the Matron of her treatment.
"Tell the matron I"m going out to gather one or two drow for the dungeons. I'll be back when I find one that's suitable." She spat at the female, still rather pissed about having to go out and hunt one down.
Hal'diira was able to slip out the servant's side door before she was stopped by anyone else. She disappeared down the ash strewn streets cursing as she went. Hopefully the Spider Queen would be smiling down on her and shed some favor on her this day. Otherwise..she'd get a tongue lashing from her Matron if she returned empty handed. And that was something that would be unforgivable...especially to her.

Another city. Another street. Just another hour spent smiling at all the fools that came to gawk at him. Oh! They looked down upon him, as if he were the amusing trash that wandered the streets. Like he were the nasty little rat, dressed up as pretty as you please for their amusement. Elkaun smiled and bowed. He danced a graceful swaying dance he had long ago learned from his mother. With limber movements that only the Serpent Dancer had possessed and passed on to her only child. He possessed a serpents grace, a serpents tongue, a serpents smile, and a serpents eyes. He'd have many fooled that he had a serpents heart, and others a mouses heart. It all depended upon the smiles and the glints in the eyes of his crowd. Elkaun was no master by far when it came to the art of manipulation, but he was coy enough to mingle truth with his deceptions. Thus useing the oldest trick in the book for making questionable his nature and fooling the whole lot of them. Well..maybe not -all- of them, but a good many at least. Enough to allow the trio of young circus urchins to nimbly slip through the crowd and lighten the purses and pockets of those who were too busy being condensending or arrogant in their attentions upon Elkaun.
Elkaun skillfully manipulated the magical balls that were his trade. One became two. Two became three. Three suddenly became six as he activated their magic. Each time he bounced the ball against the ground or his foot or his knee, it would seem to split into another ball and merely add to the number he manipulated. Up into the air, around his back, over his arms and across his shoulders. The balls danced as he swayed his hips. A boy followed him, dressed clearly in circus garb and playing a flute to both give Elkaun a melody to manipulate his body and balls to. As well as to draw the attention of those drow nearby. Come look! Come see and laugh. Come and let the young boys too beneath you to notice pick your pockets.
As was often the case, Elkaun preferred to perform for those who were at least easy on the eyes. His mother had always had such a way about her that she could seduce the well dressed young men into her bed just through her dance. Somehow it had spoken promises of carnal delights that Elkaun strove to mimic. Of course..his mother had danced with deadly poisoned serpents and he was dancing with juggular's balls. Somehow his mothers entertainment exuded sexuality, his he had to work fairly hard to accomplish that with. Still, even if his balls lacked the sexual aura, his soft pink eyes, long white hair, and naked muscled torso made up for that he was sure. He winked and smiled at the few in the crowd that seemed easy enough to seduce. Though he doubted he'd find a willing enough bedfellow for this night. Ah well. There was alwaus Sszor that he could visit his need upon if he didn't find someone welathy looking enough to cuddle up to...
((There XD Think the music and dance and balls might catch her attention for a moment? ^_^ ))]

Hal'diira wandered the marketplace her eyes wandering over the merchants' wares in hopes of finding something to rid herself of boredom. She was still in a dark mood and it was growing more and more as she slowly made her way through the crowds. Everyone else raced around her in lightning speed, and she nearly fell over w hen one fat fellow collided with her and didn't even blink or pause to apologize.
"How disgustingly rude," Hal muttered darkly, "You'd think a fellow that fat would at least give warning when he's barreling through a crowd."
All of a sudden a motion caught her attention out of the corner of her eye. She turned to see what it was and found herself surprised to see a very graceful, not to mention beautiful male dancing gracefully as he juggled colorful balls into the air. No..not juggling. Hal frowned, a bit intrigued by the illusion the fellow was weaving with the new balls appearing and drew closer to watch more carefully. Juggling was a low street term given to those who weren't as masterful at the manipulation that this fellow had over his tools.
The motion of the dancer's body and his colored balls followed the melody of the music that the flutist was playing...almost causing a hypnotic affect on her. She soon lost all sense of anger, tension and frustration the longer she watched the feats he pulled off with his balls. She was soon slightly swaying in time with the music, and not even thinking of the task given to her.
At the back of her mind, she knew something about it was wrong, and that she needed to leave but something kept her there rooted to the spot. After all it didn't matter when she returned to the Baen' duis House. It wasn't like they would come out searching for her if she didn't come back right away. And..there wasn't anyone else in the house willing to step foot out into drow society. For once, Hal'diira was actually thankful for her familiy's eccentricities and paranoia of the outside society.

Oh well now now? Elkaun's pink eyes ceased wandering on the crowd when they found Hal'diira standing in the crowd. As she swayed to the music of the flute and continued to watch him so, he let his gaze take in the lovely style of dress she wore. Well, she certainly was not one of the commoners that sometimes stopped to watch him now was she? He could see a flicker of movement behind her, a flash of dull gray cloth and a single tiny hand moving towards her. It seemed that one of the pick pockets working the crowd had noticed her as well. He rather hoped they got something good off this one. With a flick of his wrist, he bowed slightly to the female. For the next few moments, he watched her as much as the crowd watched him. As a small red scarf fluttered to the ground near his feet Elkaun re-focused on his balls. Just as they had multiplied, they magically reconstituted until he was left spinning a single ball upon the tip of his finger. Elkaun tapped it once, causing it to skip and he caught the ball in the palm of his other hand.
He bowed once more to the crowd, then flipped his hair back over his shoulders so he could wink at Hal'diira with that glossy smile of his.
"Ah. Thank you all for your attention and observation. Please, so come and visit the circus tonight for even greater sights!" He spoke to the crowd as he began to step back towards the tents. It was time to return to his tent and get something to eat perhaps?
With small twists of his wrists, the numbers began to vanish. As slowly as they multiplied, they vanished.

Hal'diira found herself slipping out of the hypnotic state when the performer's eyes fell on her. There was something odd about this fellow, something that she just couldn't put her finger on. He was up to something..something the crowd around her was unaware of.
She stiffened slightly when she felt several bodies jostle her all at once. She looked around to see who it had been and then dismissed it. Still..the unsettled feeling shrouded her and made her feel uncomfortable. Something was definitely goin gon.
She watched his performance only half interested now, seeing that his eyes were consistently watching her was a strange thing to see. Was he focusing on her to draw her attention away from something else? Or was he actually interested in her? Did he find her compelling to look at?
Hal's mouth twitched slightly when the male winked at her and shot her a smile. What a quirky fellow, she thought oddly amused by his antics. Perhaps, this one would be a fun one to engage relations with. If...he was up for it of course.
At his announcement, Hal walked slowly forwards; wanting to thank him for his performance and the needed distraction. And of course to see if he was indeed interested in her. She was about halfway there when her hand reached down to check on her coin purse. A sudden flash of surprise and alarm went through her when she didn't find the purse there.
Then she figured it all out in an instant. The fellow was merely there as a distraction for the pickpockets, so they could abscond with people's money bags. What an insufferable wretch! Hal quickened her steps until she was about a foot away from him and then lunged at him.
"You insufferable thief!" She growled in a low anger laced tone.

Oh! Elkaun's pink eyes brightened a bit when the lovely female began to approach him. Perhaps he'd get a little attention tonight after all! He did wonder what her financial status was. If it was appealing enough perhaps he could entice the female for the duration of his stay in the city. He really did prefer to sleep in the comfort of a woman's soft bed in compare to the cot he had to make do so often with. Elkaun squeezed his magical ball in one hand, then lifted up and pressed the compressed ball to his tattooed shoulder. He felt the usual warmth as the magic of the ball bled into a swirl on his shoulder. What better way to transport his livelihood then in a magical tattoo? Of course, this was also part of the reason of his skilled success.
Not that any of that was on his mind right now. Oh no. His mind was more wrapped up in the female who approached him. Elkaun lifted a hand and brushed his long hair back behind one ear as he prepared himself to work a little more magic of another sort. It was about then that Elkaun noted the change in the females facial features.
For a Conartist, he already knew that there had been a discovery. She knew she'd been robbed, the question was if she would turn to find the unlucky scamp that had lifted her purse or not. Not it seemed, as her angry gaze turned towards him. Elkaun foresaw the lunge in a way. He at least knew that she would reach for him. As quick as the beat of his own heart, Elkaun darted back in a small jump. He had not expected the female to actually -lunge- for him though. "Gah!" He exclaimed when she did so. This was not the simple hand grab he had expected! As she was a female and all Elkaun could not dare to strike out at her, so instead he lifted his forearms before him and attempted to push the female away. "Good Lady! I am no thief!"

Hal wasn't surprised that the thief was denying his part in the theft, though a small part of her mind was trying to accept it. After all..why would a drow with such bright clothes and such flamboyant tendencies be a thief? he'd be caught within moments if he were to attempt a theft. he was just way too noticeable.
Still..Hal wasn't about to let her mind reason her out of retrieving her money. Especially not with how vindictive her matron was towards those who failed to fill her requests. She had asked for a new slave for torturing..and Hal knew the Matron would have no qualms using her as a replacement.
"You can deny it until you're green in the face, Male, or you can return the gold that was stolen from me. I'm not some vapid tittering female who's going to allow you to lie to my face. I know you were distracting the crowds with your music to allow the others to steal from them. Unfortunately for you and them..they picked my pocket." Hal said, as she dug her hands into his forearms and hissed into his face.
If she had been taller and had a few more pounds of muscle on her, she could have easily taken the male down. Her cursed shortness and slight frame rather pissed her off to no end. Why did she have to get the worst of her Matrons' genes?
"Now then, you can either pay me back, help me find the little rats, or you can volunteer for a short lived position in my House's dungeons. Its your choice."

Ach! The feel of those fingers digging into his arms was painful. Elkaun struggled with himself. He knew that if he were to fight back it would only land him in worse trouble. Still, he was not one to suffer such treatment normally. He much rather preferred more tender moments with a female. It made his teeth grind behind his smiling lips.
"Truly my lady! The only gold I have are those few coins that the crowd has been so kind to toss to me. I swear I know nothing of your robbery! Crowds draw all kinds of attention you know. It could be just a common thief from your own fair city" He tried to speak sense to her through his lies. His pink eyes darted about as the crowd started to check their own pockets. Ah...now this was going to go badly for him. The little urchins had fled back to the safety of the wagons. As the female would give him her ultimatum, Elkaun attempted to retreat back from her. She was not nearly as powerful as many of the females surrounding them. At least not physically. He was not going to test to see what skills she had been trained in regardless of how slight she was.
He attempted to give her a disarming smile. "Neither of those choices seem very attractive to me. I believe I shall chose the fourth option and merely return to the safety of my wagon."

Hal was seething as he spoke and his words didn't do much to relieve it. Then again..when she got in her state of heightened rage..there wasn't much that could be done to calm her down.
She was even more incensed with anger when the male tried to retreat from her grasp and edge back towards his wagon. She might not be a very strong female..but she had her ways of dealing with males who underestimated her.
"There is no fourth option," She glowered and with lightning fast reflexes she reached out, grabbed a hold of his neck and let loose a paralyzing curse.
What most drow didn't realize, is that a healer had the ability to curse as well as heal. And a healer's curse could be even more deadly, especially when it was rage that motivated it.
It didn't take but a moment for the curse to course through her hand and into the unsuspecting male's body. Hal'diira withdrew and watched with a small smirk at what followed.

Smiles and charm was not going to work. Ugh. Elkaun despised making a fuss. If he ended up getting his hair ruined he was going to be so angry. It had taken him so long to get his hair this long and perfect! When the female lifted her hands, Elkaun began to do the same. Perhaps if he struck her on the chest she'd be startled enough to release him. He'd have to hide for the rest of the time the circus was here...but...it would save him from being harassed and...
The quickness of the female startled Elkaun. His pink eyes widened a bit and he started to jerk his head back. Oh Damn it! She had just stabbed him didn't she! Wait..no...he felt no blood...no pricking..so that meant no poison. Or was he wrong? Elkaun felt his body go fully numb. His leg's ceased to hold him upwards and he found himself falling to the ground with a wordless gasp.

Hal'diira ignored the startled gasps from the crowd behind her and leaned down over the now paralyzed male and sneered at him. Despite his not being able to move, his eyes were still open and focused, ensuing that he saw and heard everything that was going on around him.
"Now..it's time for me to have a bit of fun with you." She said with a gleam of satisfaction in her eyes. "You!" She turned suddenly and pointed at a strong looking warrior. "I require your muscles..you can either do as I ask or meet a worse fate than this fellow." She told the gaping warrior kicking Elkaun's foot viciously to show how he couldn't move a muscle.
The big warrior gulped and inched closer not really wanting to do as she asked but knew better than to deny her request. He roughly picked Elkaun up and threw him over his shoulder and followed Hal'diira from the marketplace trying not to hear the mutters from the drawing crowd.
Hal'diira was a bit miffed that she had to resort to using one of her stronger spells on the colorful fellow, as she wouldn't be able to use it for another twenty four hours. Still..at least she wouldn't be returning home empty handed. Though since she had to go through so much trouble to obtain the fellow she'd make damn sure that she'd get the first go at him.
"You can stay here," She told the warrior stiffly as they came to a stop outside the walls of the Baen'duis House. "Just drop him, I'll have some servants come for him along with something for your trouble." She told the warrior without a backward glance.
If she were lucky..the spell wouldn't release from the juggler's body for another hour or two. And by that time, he'd be sorry that he had ever thought to cross her.

This was...this was inconceivable! He could not move! He could not speak! He could not call out for help from one of the circus folk that were, sadly, only a shout away. But a shout away, when you were voiceless, may have been a whole city away! His irritation warred with his fear as the female loomed over his unresponsive body. Try as he might, he just could not make it move!
There followed a angering period of insult as well. To be slung up like some sort of flesh sack!? He wanted to shout in anger! Instead he could only stare vacantly ahead. Though he was certain the anger was just a warm shield to keep his mind from moving on to fear. He did not want to think about what was going to happen right now. He was out of the safety zone of the circus. He had no help coming. Sszor would clearly miss him and may look..but how much could the mute male possibly do? Elkaun felt his heartbeat speeding up as he failed to hold onto the anger, thus letting the fear edging in on him.
