I usually only watch dubbed because I'm all about audio, but sometimes I'll watch subbed because this happens...

I like the subbed ones, mostly. the dubbed ones usually just feel wrong :/

but i've come across some that were dubbed really well.

shaman king? nuh-uh. subbed all the way. the americanized version was bastardized by 4Kids D:

I agree on Rurouni Kenshin-- when i watched it, it kept flipping between subbed and dubbed, and i didn't hardly notice. they did a really good job on dubbing it : D

well I used to read shaman king on the monthly US shonen jump and watched it on the fox-box every saturday morning so I hold a little more love for the dub I guess sweatdrop

Subbed. Most of the time watching dubs make me feel awkward, especially when I watch my anime in public. It's a rare look but it makes me feel good inside when someone looks over at me and wonder if I really know Japanese. Since I don't look at the screen most of the time. Off topic. I know. XD

Yeah...dubs are just awkward.

subbed. cause then you actually get to know the intended words, not what the American dubber think they should be, or made into 'politically correct' words.

Almost anything by Funimation is dubbed amazingly, I've noticed. With few exceptions. I'm an auditory person, and am easily captivated by peoples' voices. sweatdrop So when I hear a good voice actor that matches up perfectly to a character, I'm awed. xD

It depends entirely on how well the dubbing is for me.

Usually I prefer dubbed purely due to the fact that it's easier to come by and because I prefer to watch what's going on rather than stare at the bottom of the screen the whole time. But if the dubbing is attrocious, I'll watch it subbed without complaint.

The 4Kids dub of One Piece and Shaman King just killed the entire series for me though. I used to read both manga versions religiously, but when the dubs came out I just couldn't enjoy the manga without hearing those horrid voice overs in my head, so I just gave up.

It usually depends on the subber for me because when it's translated directly from the Japanese, then the subs tend to sound a little ridiculous. But I usually don't have any problems with Funimation subs. My boyfriend and I were cracking up last night while watching FMA: Brotherhood. Jean Havoc is so hilarious!

I prefer dubbed because listening to Japanese (or any other language for that mater) for long periods of time gives me a head ache and I'm a slow reader so I have to keep pausing the show to get the full message of it.....
