This pickled vegetable...People who claim to be something without knowing what in the world they're claiming to be.
Example:
"I'm Pagan!"
"Okay. What kind of Pagan?"
"Just Pagan. Its my religion."
"Paganism isn't a religion, its a classification for religions."
"Shut-up! You don't know anything!"
" . That's a classification, not a specific religion."
"Baww! STFU and GTFO!" ... could kick your a** !!

Agreed! If they're a huge mish mash they should at least know the word "eclectic."
It just shows they never did their research.

"Christian Scientist". They claim God will heal everything and God didn't ever want us to be afflicted with whatever ails us be it allergies or sever sickness. It all sound like selfish bull $&%#. Its all about themselves and them. Just believing can heal you ? My a**.
We were created to take our knowledge and pass it onto the next generation to keep the human race alive In my opinion.
How can someone so religious be so selfish? It all sounds like a cult to me.
That's what "peeves me" .

If I'm trying to say what religion I am to someone who has never heard of or knows nothing about Paganism, I usually just say "Pagan" to make it easier. But if they seem to know more about Paganism than most people do or they specifically ask what kind, I'll go into it.
I think giving a vague response is something that people of every religion sort of do, though. I don't even know how many times someone's told me they're Christian and when I ask what denomination they say something like, "You know... Just Christian." Or even worse is the other way around, when somebody tries to explain their specific denomination or beliefs and people just ignore the details and say "Oh, so you're a Muslim" or "Okay, you're just Jewish then" without caring about what kind.

Oh how I love fluffs........ I usually do not go in to it with people in the "real world". My husband knows so that's good enough for me.

But, if Your belief system includes all Polytheisms there are, as well as Buddism ...... Can't You claim to be "Pagan" then?
And saying it isn't possible, since there would be too many conflicting ideas, is not really valid, since there are conflicting ideas in several Mythologies in themselves.
And in several of those, it may also seem common to only choose the "important" divinities, and disregard the rest ......
So i don't consider a mish-mash of them to be improbable.
And couldn't one call that simply "Pagan", then?

Oh, P.S. I got married yesterday =^_^=Congratulations! biggrin My biggest pet peeve when it comes to people in general is when they do something harmful or evil on purpose. If you're stupid, but you sincerely want to know about something but post something that shows you have no idea what you're talking about, then to me that's better then the smart alec who tears that person down.
