"Drifters" is Hirano's second manga series. He started it after he finished Hellsing. The first chapter was published last April. It's currently 12 chapters long. Its story revolves around several actual historical figures (some of whom are well-known, some of whom are not) "drifting" out of our world and into a fantasy world (complete with magicians, elves, orcs, and dragons) where two opposing forces attempt to use their knowledge, skills, and abilities to further their own ambitions. The plot is just now beginning to pick up steam, so it really is a great time to get into it. You can read the English scanslations here. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

If you look closely, Toyohisa (the central character) bears little resemblance to Alucard (I think he looks more like the Captain). Nobunaga (the character in the upper right corner) looks more like Alucard (although his stringy hair is more reminiscent of Walter). Now, as always, Hirano is recycling character designs, adding little touches here and there to make them look a little more original (and failing miserably). Easy (one of the main antagonists) is a carbon-copy of Girlycard. That being said, only the first chapter is set in feudal era Japan. After that, the story moves to a fantasy world in which humans and demihumans (elves, dwarves, and hobbits) fought a great war. The humans won, and now the demihumans live and work as serfs in human fiefdoms. The Black King (another main antagonist) seeks to eliminate all humans.

I thought for sure it was alu when they showed her up in the tree with just her shadow. ya can't hear voices, ya know? anyway, I need to read more.. I'm just wondering how easily he's going to follow and epic like hellsing.

I know this is probably a stupid question, but what happened to the guy in the airplane after that whole epic battle about 10 or 11 chapters in? They really didn't show us where he went.

He just... flew off. sweatdrop Lyle_K_Nives i found this on wiki... kouta hirano serieshe did have a lot of others as well, but most of them are not available in the net through manga hosting sites... emo I don't consider Hirano's previous works to be "series" because most of them are only a few chapters long. I said Easy was a carbon-copy of Girlycard. People should listen. stare

yeah.. us manga lovers are sometimes forced to use scanlations.... whichc is fine cuz Im broke XD
manga books are so expensive, even when they're made here (not the original drawings, but the translating and manufacturing)
and also...
YOISHI'S A GUY?
I'm sorry... from what I've seen of "him" I cannot imagine "him" having a p***s.
