The red headed woman took at seat at the back of the inns dining hall. Usually speaking, she wasn't much of one for public dining, but as she was far from home, she didn't have much of a choice in the matter. Mercy had come to this city to deliver a commission, a sculpture of her patrons finest horse. She did not usually deliver her own work, but she was particularly proud of this piece. Besides, she reminded herself, it would only be for a few days.

A gruff looking man entered the the inn, scanning back and forth. Keeping his head down to avoid attention, his countenance betrayed his anxiety. He held a sachel in his hands, and with each step forward it clinked to annouch his arrival, much to his displeasure. Spying the sculptress, he headed to the back of the inn, taking an abrupt seat beside her and rudely tossing the sachel into her lap. At least she'd chosen a seat far removed from the rest of the inn, any further into the public eye and he would likely have left. "I brought you the gold, now where is my statue?" He fidgetted in his seat, casting a nervous glance back at the door.

xìn niǎn shì zài lí míng qián de hēn ànzhōng néng gǎn dào guāng míng de niǎo Lydia was in the kitchen kneading bread when her mother’s brown head appeared at the door. “Lydia, we’re packed! We need you to take orders.” Her message delivered, the brunette walked out. Lydia shook her head. Her mother was a cut-to-the-bone sort of woman. She had managed to make the inn prosper, virtually on her own after her husband’s death. Lydia wiped her hands on her apron, hung it, and walked to a couple in the back. As she drew closer she noticed that that neither was talking. The man looked impatient, but the woman seemed oblivious, as she calmly examined the contents of a satchel. Lydia smiled brightly and said, “Hi, I’m Lydia, I’ll be your server today. Can I get you two anything?” Faith is the bird that feels the light and sings when the dawn is still dark

He'd get his statue after she made good and sure she wasn't being short changed. Carefully sticking her hand into the satchel, she began moving the coins from one side to the other, counting them out of plain sight. After Mercy had satisfied herself that everything was there, she looked up at the man. "It's in the third warehouse on right of the closest brothel on this street. They've been told to expect you". With that, she tossed the key she'd been hiding in the folds of her dress toward him. It wasn't the best place in town to store a statue, but she had very little connections in this place, and the short notice had given her no time to acquire any. In any case, her patron did not exactly inspire fondness in those who worked for him, so the trouble he'd go through to retrieve it was of little concern to her.
With that out of the way, she turned to the server. "A mug of your finest mead, your freshest bread, and your best cheese if you have any dear. I might as well eat before I head on." Her demeanor did a complete one eighty with the girl. Where she had been detached at best with the man, to the girl she issued a glowing smile.

Melinda finds her way into another inn on the street. Opens the door and looks around seeing a fairly busy tavern. She smiles to herself and gets her hopes up. Thinking to herself that this looks promising, starting looking around for someone that works here. She makes her way towards a table near the bar, with her back facing the wall and looking towards the door.

Coughing into his hands, he nods, picking up the key and stuffing it into his waistband. Ignoring the server, he turned back to the sculptor. "If its half decent...I have another horse I'd like sculpted. I'm the stable master for the praeter, if you're interested, I'll be there." Standing, he bumped into the waitress and another patron as he made a hasty exit.

"For the praetor... Well, that was interesting." She mused, tilting back in her chair as she waited. Half decent her arse. If he hadn't expected it to be good, he never would have commissioned her in the first place. Still, to find out that he had a connection to the praetor was good. At the very least it meant that he could pay for a few more statues. A steady paycheck was a good paycheck after all.
The problem now was, it would take him a day to get it back to wherever he was going and look it over. She couldn't go up to the stables and ask him about her next assignment till then. That killed her chance of going home early and left her confused as to what to do with the rest of her day.

She takes her seat and looks at all those around her. Sees a slight commotion going on in the corner as a man storms his way out away from a woman, being very rude.
She grabs one of the waitresses that were walking by. "Miss, would you please send that woman in the corner one of your better drinks in the house. She looks like she could use something." She smiles and reaches into her pouch giving the waitress a few coins on her serving tray. "And one for myself as well, thank you very much."

xìn niǎn shì zài lí míng qián de hēn ànzhōng néng gǎn dào guāng míng de niǎo After speaking gruffly with the red haired woman, the man stood and bumped into Lydia as he headed for the back entrance. While the whole scene seemed odd it was nothing out of the ordinary - all sorts of people came here. She managed to excuse herself and headed to the kitchen. On her way there, a young woman with pale hair stopped her. "Miss, would you please send that woman in the corner one of your better drinks in the house. She looks like she could use something. And one for myself as well, thank you very much." Lydia nodded thinking, Could she ever. The other lady reached into her bag and placed some coin on Lydia's tray. Lydia nodded again and smiled brightly. "Right away, Miss." Then she headed to the back of the kitchen to fill both womens' orders. She went first to the woman with pale hair, as she was closest to the kitchen and had only ordered a drink. She placed the mead on the table in front of the woman and asked, "Can I get you anything else?" Faith is the bird that feels the light and sings when the dawn is still dark

xìn niǎn shì zài lí míng qián de hēn ànzhōng néng gǎn dào guāng míng de niǎo The girl raised an eyebrow. Who pays twice? And not only that, but for a stranger too? Lydia tried to wipe the surprise off her face smiled. "Alright. If you need a refill, just ask." The woman smiled politely and nodded. Lydia picked the tray up and headed to the back. She put a plate with the fresh bread and cheese in font of the woman, alongwith her glass of mead. "Is there anything else I can do for you?" "Not right now, hun, but thank you all the same. I actually have a few things I need to catch up on." She replied, moving the food to a large piece of clothe she had removed from her bag and folding it within it. Placing that away, she also took out a small tankard as well. "Need to make sure that oaf doesn't damage my work" Mercy said with a grin to the girl, as she took a swig from the cup and poured the rest into the tankard. "Hope to see you again, as I'll be back here before my trip ends. This place has uncommonly good service." And with that, she was up and out, making her way to where the statue was stored.

The stable master wandered through the streets, half tempted to stop at the brothel as he passed it. Shaking away his thoughts, he moved up to the warehouse and inserted the key. He slid the door back, moving inside to examine the statue. It was indeed a fine piece, and he circled it twice to ensure that it was of the highest quality. He turned his head when he heard a commotion outside. Ignoring the rabble, he continued to examine the work inside the warehouse.
