Welcome to the Gaian Superheroes/villains! We're gonna need your:

Name:

Age:

Alliance:

Powers:

Strength:

Weaknesses:

History:

Appearance:

No need to put this if you already have your profile in one of the two sticky threads in the Hero and Villain subforums, like me!

Our cause:

Heroes and heroines keep evil out of the world and try to save Gaia from the impending doom or domination, etc. etc. as well as keeping the villains alive so that the hero guild won't go out of work.

Villains and...villainesses? are out to destroy the world, or dominate it, or take revenge, or something like that. Either way, they're evil. twisted But they somehow tend to lose to heroes... gonk

Our REAL cause:

To have fun! We're just joking around, using our powers for whatever we want in this incredibly unusual RP.

Rules:

No criticising writing styles, since this isn't really a serious RP.

Obey the TOS! gonk

Don't cuss; the RP's not serious enough for that.

No ultra-uber-awesome-1337-supers-that-cannot-possibly-be hurt or contained or defeated in any way.

No god-modding.

Don't get too serious about the thing. This guild isn't serious
. The Internet is serious business.

No pointing out that there are waaaay too many rules for a not-very-serious RP. xp

Have fruhn!

The young roughneck leaned against the counter smiling and flirting with the cashier. A police officer was buying a box of donuts and giving the roughneck a foul look but the young man took no notice to it. The woman gave the police officer a little too much change but the man took no notice. He simply walked out rolling his eyes. The roughneck grinned leaning in closer. “But yes as I was saying, a woman's face is the most interesting part of her body.” The cashier a young girl of about 18 giggled. “You don't say?” she asked batting her eye lashes at the muscular 23 year old. He nodded in return. “Oh absolutely. You can tell a lot about a girl based on her face.” he responded. The girl flicked her hair over her shoulder and tilted her head. “Like what?” she asked. The roughneck grinned looking thoughtful. “Like if she smiles a lot. If she's a screamer. Or even..” he leaned in close causing the girl to blush furiously. “If she's been mugged.” the girl blinked looking confused but the roughneck pulled his fist back smashing it into the girls nose cracking it. She feel to the ground bleeding and passed out.

Instantly the roughneck jumped behind the counter and grabbed his back pack off of his back. He opened the cash register shoving all the money into it. He turned grabbing a few dozen packs of cigarettes. He jumped to the other side of the counter as the officer opened the door again. “What the hell is going on here?!” he demanded reaching for his gun. But before he could draw it he found himself on a ground with a broken nose of his own.

Ten minutes later the roughneck was speeding through the streets of Durem on a motorcycle he had high jacked. Smirking and feeling quite pleased with himself he didn't notice the giant rubber duck just around the corner. Smashing into it when he turned he fell to the ground bleeding from the head. Phantom was sitting on the head of the duck looking up at the clouds thoughtfully. Slowly he slide down the neck and jumped from the body onto the pavement by the would be thief with a head trauma.

Phantom picked up the young man who was moaning in agony standing him on his feet. “I've made a scientific discovery.” he said absent minded. “What the ******** god..not you.” moaned the rough neck. Ignoring the boy Phantom pointed at the giant rubber duck. “I have discovered the function of the rubber duck.” he said proudly as he took the boys backpack. He let go of the boy letting him fall down his nose cracking on the pavement. “Oh my. I expect that's irony isn't it?” asked Phantom sounding rather gloomy.

Suddenly the backpack was surrounded by a dark claw, snatched away at impressive speed. The claw grew out of the ground. Soon an arm joined it, and then a shoulder. Slowly the dark shape took form out of the shadows of the giant rubber duck, writhing as if made of a thousand snakes. Finally it took form, and the darkness dissapated from its body. What remained was just as dark, with the exception of having quite a bit of orange. It stood 8 feet tall, with a grin that either spoke of infinite amusement or unspeakable horror.
"What do we have here?" the creature hissed as he opened the backpack.
"A few tasty treats? A snack or two? For your sake, I hope so. Im hungry."
The creature dumped the contents of the backpack on the floor. The money blew in the wind, scattered throughout the street. However, the cigarettes fell with a thud to the pavement.
"You rob a store and don't even take anything of value? What kind of criminal are you?"
It was then that the creature noticed the being whom he had snatched the bag from.
"I like your style," it said, pointing one of his razor sharp digits at the rubber duck, "Its quite amusing."
"I am the pumpkin king...but you can call me Jack." The creature hissed, the flames in his eyes buring brighter at the mention of his name. The cape that flowed behind him twitched, almost as if it were alive.

Phantom blinked not that Jack could see that. He watched the money blow away and sighed sadly. He was going to give it to the orphanage. “Jack.” he repeated turning back to the sentient vegetable. “I like that. I was going to call you Dylan but you don't look like a Dylan. Jack suits you better what with looking like Jack and all.” he commented speaking of the Demon lord of Halloween. “Uncanny resemblance.” he said absent mindedly turning to look at the duck. “The papers. They call me The Phantom Slasher. Phantom rolls off the tongue easier though. Except this one man I know. Movie director on another island. Calls me slasher. Slash is slang for urinating there you see.” he explained matter of factually. He paused shaking his head. “Sorry my mind wandered off to another world again Dylan..Jack that is sorry.” He looked thoughtful picking off the cigarettes and dropping them again. “Do you like candy like the other Jack?” he asked.

One month ago...

There was chaos within the Gaian government.

"It's headed right for Durem! What the ******** is it, a giant eyeball?"

There was panic, lots of it, in the government building. The heroes' guild was also preparing to deal with it.

General Kcuf Ffo was about to land on the planet Gaia. He was in a rather big ship, big enough to fit himself in a seated position. However, it looked more like a space pod, which was shaped and designed after his own head: which was, of course, a giant eyeball.

As the eyeball grew larger, and more visible, the people of Durem panicked. However, then it stopped, it stopped in mid-air. It then flew back up, went over to the ocean, and landed deep down in the water.

General was working on several ships like this for the past 100 years, as well as blueprints for... something else. He was thinking.

"I was supposed to have a job here hundreds of years ago. I have doubts that the technology was even advanced enough to communicate me. I doubt the slavers had any idea of this planet. They probably threw out any random name."

He sighed. Best not to make any public appearances for a month. In space, there were several other similar ships of his. All were cloaked, all had no one piloting them, and all were scanning the planet. He did not want to make a public appearance until he'd gathered enough information.

One month later...

His ship subtly hovered over Durem, seconds after Jack met with Phantom.

General was rather absent-minded, though. His ship was not cloaked.

Jack tilted his head to one side at the odd being before him. Previously he only had the weak humans to toy with. None of which had powers, and none of which were anywhere near as odd as the person before him. His curiosity always getting the better of him, Jack was instantly intruiged as the person known as Phantom rambled on.
Jack grew confused as he mentioned another Jack. Having escaped from his previous confinement not too long ago, he knew nothing of the creature he was shaped after, and while Jack possessed a rather uncanny ability to learn, he had yet to master reading, and so had never heard of the real pumpkin king. As Phantom went on, Jack became more and more engrossed.
And then he mentioned candy. Instantly the eyes in his pumpkin of a skull grew slightly brighter, and all other information was stored in the back of his head for another day.
"Like candy? I love candy. There is no greater substance in this world than candy."
Even the pressence of a ship floating overhead did not tear Jack away from the subject of candy.

A thermal updraft made the woman rise in the air and for a few blissful moments all was right in Gaia. Clouded eyes that were the golden-brown of a bird of prey surveyed the city below, people the size of ants scurrying to and fro from their neat normal lives. At one time she had envied them deeply, and flying in a cocoon of shadow that constantly covered her body in a haze the woman had to admit that yes, a part of her still wanted a normal life.

That was impossible now, as the lone hero of Gaia her plate was full and by the sounds of it the wailing keen of sirens below indicated that her peaceful flight was going to be short. Angling her wings, the woman began to dive seeing the upwards billowing of smoke, smelling the acrid tang of burning wood and catching the faint screams for aid on the wind. The woman took a breath and closed her eyes, seeing a window that was clouded with smoke but had not burst open yet from the heat. Firefighters were quelling the blaze below and she could see that they were getting out those on the lower floors. Good, less to worry about then. Within the span of a few breaths, the woman's dive arced and she smashed into the top window, rolling once and landing on her feet.

The heat pressed upon her and she gasped and her body raced to adjust, nonetheless sweat beaded along her face and hands and her mouth tensed as she folded her wings against her back and pressed on, cries reaching her ears from another room. Swiftly the woman slid into once seeing a small form huddled against the far wall and she made for the child, seeing the boy look up at her. His mouth dropped open and he tried to spreak through coughing as the woman raised a hand "I'm here te get ye out. Won't hurt ye in the least. Come now." she stated, voice hoarse and weary, the faint lilt of Scotland underneath. The boy, whether because he knew the woman was Hawk and had heard of the publicity she hated so, or because he was smart and knew that if he didn't follow he'd die scrambled towards her, wrapping his arms about her waist.

Not wasting a moment she hauled him up, and seeing no faster way out braced him against her and flew out the window, a whip-thin tendril of shadow smashing the glass outwards. The boy cried out, shock and glee in his voice as they were airborne and in a few short moments they were safely on the ground. "Seth! SETH!" a woman pressed through the crowd and gathered the boy up, sobbing unashamedly as Hawk took to the air once more. Sweating, overheated and knowing that her shirt was singed the woman moved through the floors and lead people out, sensing no others left as the roof began to groan after him.

She stepped out into the air and blinked smoke-sore eyes feeling the light pain from a few too many singes and her lungs working to clear the smoke from them. Major property damage, minor injuries, no lives lost; chalk this up to a success. The boy, Seth's mother approached Hawk graditude and awe shining in her eyes "Thank you, thank you." she murmured and clasped the woman's sooty hand, brown eyes ready to overfill.

Feeling immensely awkward at the eyes of the crowd on her and the flashes of what she knew to be cameras Hawk nodded jerkily "Be wrong, for a mother to lose a son. Glad to help." she murmured, embarrassed as the reporters began to shout questions. Not replying the woman tugged her hand free and darted into an alleyway close by seemingly swallowed up by the shadows.

Indeed she was and a few moments later she popped into another alley, head pounding and stomach heaving, making her fall forwards and retch until her meager breakfast was gone. Standing eventually and feeling the nausea recede and the headache remain she groaned muttering a few choice curses to herself before she halted, staring into the cartoony large eyes of a giant rubber duck that shifted into an eight foot tall man with a pumpkin for a head.

She couldn't be going mad, that had already happened years ago. Had to be real then. And that was definitely a gigantic eyeball flying in the air. And here she though the day was going to be boring. With a faintly quizzical frown the woman stepped out to face the small, misfit crew in all her ragged, burned and dressed like a homeless person glory.

Phantom blinked up at the flying eyeball seeming interested but he heard the familiar sounds of hurling and turned looking and Hawk. “That happens when I do that too.” he commented looking down at the half digested breakfast. “I hate shadow travel.” he commented before looking up at the eyeball again. “I'm going to have to cut you off jack. I'm afraid I need those claws.” Then he grabbed Jack by the waist and lifted him up tossing him claws first at the rubber duck. They punctured the duck and it went flying into the air like a punctured balloon. Straight towards general's ship. Phantom looked away from the chaos he had just caused directing his attention at the young homeless looking heroine. “I stopped a thief.” he said pointing at the unconscious and severely bleeding roughneck. “I think he'll suffer some form of brain damage.” he said sounding vaguely curious about that.

Jack, after having pierced the duck, imediately melted into the shadows and watched from a distance off, his eyes darting wildly with confusion.
He had never encounted someone who could go toe to toe with him, let alone pick him up and hurl him through the air. Then again, he had never encounted anyone like Phantom, or any hero or villain for that matter.
Jack, unsure of what to do next, watched from the shadows. He would stalk this group, find out just what they could do, before he made anymore rash interactions. He would play it safe for now. Like an animal, he ran purely on instinct, being so young he had not developed his mind to its full potential. Instinct told him to fear what he did not understand. And so, like a wolf, he would stalk and wait to assess the situation.
Jack chuckled in pleasure seeing the giant rubber duck fly towards the giant eyeball though. The sight caused his much happiness.

The woman blinked started from her watching of the ship and grimaced at the mess she left behind. "So do I." she remarked and shadows bloomed from under her feet rolling out and soaking up the vomit, leaving the concrete bare. She watched the man toss the one with the pumpkin head into the air impressed with his strength. He vanished as he soared into the air and she recognized the telltale shadows swallowing him up, her stomach giving an unhappy lurch. She nodded at the thief, eyes sweeping over him "Not much in his head to damage I'm sure. I've heard of you; Phantom. A puzzle" she remarked, watching him idly shadows snaking through her fingers.

His ship immediately scanned the rubber duck, deeming that it was not a threat. It hit the ship, and then just kind of slid off.

He was getting a reading on the three of them though. It detected that Jack had some sort of supernatural powers, but no information was posted about him. He then began to zoom in on Phantom and Hawk. He did some typing, and his network of eyeball ships began to construct profiles for Phantom and Hawk.

The Phantom Slasher: Member of heroes' guild.

Hawk: Member of heroes' guild.

Of course they weren't in-depth. All his ships tended to get him was basic information. He learned a lot about the heroes' guild. He knew that joining it was the first step in the right direction.

It was time... to be social.

The eyeball lowered. It cast a red light on the ground, and then a red, transparent figure appeared. It was eight feet tall, like Jack, but it was also freaking huge. It wore a long fluffy coat as well. The handle of a katana was sticking out of the coat, too. It looked a bit out-of-place as well.

Finally, his full body materialized. The eyeball then vanished.

This was his first time walking on the ground of Gaia. He walked over to Hawk and Phantom, gathering quite a few weird looks, and a few gasps.

"You are the one known as The Phantom Slasher."

His eye turned to Hawk.

"You are Hawk. You are both members of what this planet calls the "Heroes' Guild". My sources have been rather sketchy and I don't have much information. I would very much like to join said guild, and I will do whatever it takes to join."

There was a pause, as if allowing time for one of them to respond.

"Money is not an issue. I have money stored away safely. If there is a fee, I will be able to meet it."

Erik blinked at the statement. “Me a puzzle? No no I'm gaian.” he explained. Taking off his back pack shaped like a demented black teddy bear he reached into it pulling out a box containing a puzzle. The image printed on the front was of several kittens cuddling. “This is a puzzle.” he explained handing it to Hawk. Under his mask his lips twitched into a smirk. What may seem like a random act was actually more sinister. Once she put the puzzle together she would discover that it would seal itself together and that on the back there would be a cartoon drawing of Phantom pinching Hawk's rear.

Turning Phantom watched the General materialize. He listened to the giant speak then nodded waving. “Hi Dan.” he said casually. But then he leaned in. “oh. Sorry. I thought you were my friend Dan.” he explained. “You both are eight foot tall hulking men in red coats with giant red eye balls for heads. Dan has a top hat though.” he explained. Shrugging he put his back pack back on after closing it. “Not up to us. The council makes that decision.” He explained. “You need to make some headlines.” then paused thinking. “Start a cooperation. That would get you tons of press.” he insisted.

Hawk shook her head "No. You're...complex an enigma, not an actual logical brainteaser made out of wood or plastic." she stated and watched the teddy bears mouth open as the puzzle was taken out and she held it in her hands. She shrugged and placed it into a battered satchel bag before turning to the man with the eyeball.

She had to wonder about them all, in a way they were the most outlandish crew she had seen but watching them made her feel an odd sense of familiarity. Maybe because she was as strange as they were "I like top hats." she murmured seemingly to herself and shrugged "No amount of bribes or coercion will get a license. You do what you can to make the city better; help others, kiss babies, shake hands. No, that's the mayor. Don't actually kiss babies, you'd give them nightmares." she added.

"I believe I attracted some attention about a month ago when I landed on this planet. The scare was unintentional. I have never started a corporation, though. Perhaps I should buy one? I believe my scanners picked up that the one named Johnny K. Gambino... Johnny. Jhonny. Johnny."

He paused for a bit.

"My apologies. Gambino, Johnny K. Gambino. What does this man do? I will seek audience with him at once."

Then again, bothering these strangers was a bit rude. Perhaps he should buy them dinner, he is going to be in the guild with them, after all.

'The guild...' Jack thought to himself as he watched the scene unforld.
'So to get into the guild this Jack must make headlines....curious.'
Jack was cautious about making himself too known. He prefered to stay in the shadows, where he was strong, where he was safe, where things were warm. Putting himself in the limelight would also alert his father of his wherabouts.
"Father..." Jack hissed.
He shook away the feelings of emptiness he felt, and the memories of the horrible room he had been enclosed in for years. Though he thrived on darkness, that room contained a level fo darkness even he would not dare to venture into. Not just an absence of light, but a mental darkness for him. So many lonely years had driven the creature to insanity. He resented his father so deeply for locking him away. He was also the only man he knew who could destroy him, or lock him away again. Neither of which he wanted. He was having too much fun in this world.
"Perhaps this guild could prove...entertaining."
