A small leaflet makes it's way to your room. It's rather plain. Not colourful at all, and rather uninteresting. You read the simple black text that's printed on it. "Come to our training grounds. Learn skills from others for a fee, or teach others for some extra money."
Perhaps you just want to take a look around, or perhaps you're interested in the services of the shop. Either way, you go to the address on the advertisement to find an uncharacteristically large building. It's funny, you don't seem to remember it being here before... It's almost as if it appeared overnight.
The doors stand open before you, so you enter. It doesn't exactly exude the feeling of being a business establishment; it looks as if it was built for the comfort of it's employees and visitors. A few couches (one in plus size) rest around the sizable room, with small trinkets scattered about. A bookshelf filled with books of topics ranging from the study of high society to the adventures of the "brave hero" rests neatly at the side of the room. A set of lockable doors bars access to the books, should anyone find them "appealing".
Depending on when you enter, the building may be empty. Or it may be populated by the various members of team Southern Cross. If present, a Scyther greets you. "Hello, and welcome to our tutor service. What brings you here?" If the Scyther is absent, a Rhyhorn or a Flareon with a silver tuft sometimes repeats a similar line in a disinterested tone.
Two boards are posted up against the wall, opposite the entrance. A pair of locked, sturdy doors is beside them. Each board is clearly marked in large, black letters with the words "Martial" and "Magical".
Various sub-categories sit under each board. They range from type to style, giving a comprehensive list. Moves and techniques are listed under each one, each ability having it's own price. A list of instructions is perched underneath allowing anyone to work with the services of the store, even should it be vacant.

The small sheet of paper under the boards is read thusly. Learning Moves If you wish to learn a move sign up by talking to a staff member or leave us a comprehensive note in the slot below these instructions. Please leave a method with which we may contact you. You look down to see a small slot. A sheet of paper or what have you could easily fit inside, although it's too small for even the tiniest creature otherwise. A key-lock sits just above the slot; it probably swings open to allow access when unlocked. A stack of papers sits on the nearby desk. Staff will organize your meeting with the tutor. The fee must be paid when the training begins. During this time, you and your tutor will be granted access to the interior of the building. Training dummy's and other basic supplies are provided for the duration. We implore you to only attempt to learn moves that you are capable of.((Requirements for learning a move: - For Hyper Beam, Giga Impact, Blast Burn, Frenzy Plant and Hydro Cannon the learner must be fully evolved. - You must be of the correct species to learn a Signature Move. - There must be a logical reason you can use this move; a squirtle for example could not learn thunder normally. However, TM's are considered validation; if that Squirtle already knew Discharge via TM, it would be perfectly fine. It's pretty loose, so if you're not sure just ask. Logical leaps are fine.)) Teaching Moves If you wish to sign up as a tutor, speak directly to staff or leave a note requesting a meeting. Any tutors will receive a large percent of any money spent--roughly two thirds. The remaining amount will go to the staff as a fee for the work as well as maintaining the facilities. The price for each move you teach is made at your discretion, although the price must be at least 1,500 PD and no greater than 5,000. At this time we will only accept one tutor for each ability; two people may not teach the same technique.((You can sign up any (or all) of your pokemon as a tutor. Set some prices, etc. If a move already has someone teaching it, you can't; players being able to pick and choose who gets the 66% will only lead to hard feelings. The 66%/33% is rounded to the nearest hundred for the sake of simplicity. Furthermore, you may teach your own members moves. The 33% of the fee must still be paid to me, but unless you wish to undertake the harrowing experience of paying yourself you need not pay the other 66%.))

Some OOC Yay, some OOC. Just to get some things out here and there~ - If you want to sign up as a tutor, PM me with any move/pricing information. If you want to RP them coming into the shop, doing an interview-ey thing, whatever, that's fine. Not required, but whatever~ - Should you want to meet my characters here for RP-only purposes, you're free to do so but I would appreciate the discretion of allowing me to choose who is in the shop when you enter. - You're free (and encouraged) to roleplay the teaching of moves. If you're unsure about the interior of the facilities, you're free to work with your own thoughts but generally: The training dummies come in quadrupedal (4 legged) and bipedal (2-legged, like human) versions, with a three sizes each (going from the size of a cat up to about the size of a Rhyhorn or a Human) Proper measures have been taken to prevent the spread of fire, especially in building materials. Areas are clearly marked off for the training of abilities that are a fire hazard. This part of the building is made of brick, and the floor is covered with a smooth (though not too smooth) material that you "can't quite distinguish" which has fire retardant properties. (No setting my dojo on fire!) The building and doorways are made to work for all sizes of creatures. The roof is about 3 meters high, viably allowing any creature to fit inside, barring wailord and a few ultra legendaries. Some creatures exceed the 3m limit, but all the non-legendaries (and even some of the legendaries) are serpentine creatures and don't need their full height. Mamoswine and Lapras are otherwise the tallest at 2.5m. Other than that, you're free to work in whatever you want, although try to embrace the progressing canon set by other RPers if possible wink

Tolin looked at the funds the team had. They were just over 13,000 PD. It was a fair sum, no doubt. Unfortunately, it was not at such a level where it could really be all that useful. The best thing to do would be to invest it, turn it into something greater than it is now. The best way to do that would be a shop. Something within his area of expertise... Fighting, no doubt. " If only it wasn't so impractical..." " What do you mean?" Tolin righted himself in his chair as he realized he had spoken aloud. " That is... I was thinking that opening a shop would be a good way to earn some extra money. Some kind of a dojo service to teach others techniques. It would be quite a hassle, though." " I'll handle it. Just give me about 10,000 PD and I'll get it up and running in no time." Tolin thought about it for a moment before giving his assent. " Alright. Feel free to, just make sure it has adequate facilities." Albus spoke back with a glint in his voice; it made Tolin somewhat worried. " Don't worry. I'll deal with it." --------------------------------- Tolin stood in front of the building the next day. It was huge... The size alone made it appear almost gaudy. " This is fine, right?" " Well, yes. But... what happened to the other buildings? I would have sworn there were others here before..." " Nope! No buildings were here before, ha ha ha!" Tolin decided to leave it well enough alone.

When Team Polaris got the flyers, Altus's first idea was to go and sign up as a tutor. It would be a good experience, he'd get some practise (and no matter what, he's still a Riolu from the warrior's plateau at heart), and he's make the team a little money. Not that the Team has been short on money- Polaris has been relatively prosperous compared to the first month or so since its existence. He had another idea too. When he shared it with the rest of the team, everyone was pretty happy with it, except Morana and incultyr. Morana because the idea was that she'd go and sign up as well, and Incultyr was worried she might get hurt. Promising he'd look after Morana though, Altus took her with him after Incultyr was convinced. Morana agreed reluctantly. When the two got to the new building, they entered and approached a rather familiar-looking scyther. --- When Atra had received the flyer at his own room, he had opted to go down to the city by himself. Normally he had Katara fly him, but he felt like a walk today. When he entered, he went straight to the board that listed the possible moves. Time to learn some more magic! Grabbing one of the slips of paper, Atra started writing in a neat tight handwriting, with almost perfectly formed Footprint Runes, requesting tutors for the moves Water Pulse, Icicle Spear, and Shadow ball.

The letter came to Atra quite quickly. Later that day, in fact. The letters came in elegant swirls, written with extreme precision. They were methodical but aesthetically pleasing. " Thank you for using our service. Tutelage for Shadow Ball is available as soon as two days from now, shortly after lunch. Icicle Spear and Water Pulse are being taught under the instruction of the same individual, so you may learn both at an extended session three days from now. If you are unavailable at such time(s), please send us a message as soon as possible. Please confirm that you are able to make the meeting three days from now when you enter the facilities for Shadow Ball.
Icicle Spear and Shadow Ball will cost 2500 PD each, and Water Pulse will cost 3000 PD. You may pay this as one sum, or you may pay prior to learning each individual move. Regardless, the total is 8,000 PD.
--Tolin, Store Management." TolinTolin had been staying inside the building since the fliers had reached homes earlier in the day. He was hoping that there would be a surge of initial attention; a personal greeting from the store owner would no doubt leave a positive impression on the any who came in. Although that was not to say he stayed all day; often he left to go visit his team members or simply wander about the city. He was passing the time reading a novel from the bookshelf he had moved in. He was finding that the experience as a team had brought back his ability to use many skills he had thought lost of him; not the least of which was a mildly strong psychokinesis. He was was rather absorbed in his novel when the two approached him. The (seemingly) sudden arrival of the pair broke his concentration, and the book fell to the ground with a slight thud. Uncharacteristic to the intellectual and aged Scyther, the book was a well-known adventure novel aimed at older children. " Ah, hello there..." Tolin's voice trailed off for a moment as he thought carefully. " Ah, Altus! Morana! Hello! I haven't seen you two in some time now. How have you been, and what brings you here?"

Morana && Altus "We're um, fine...and we came to sign up as tutors." There wasn't anything wrong with the reply, except that Morana started talking about a split second before Tolin even opened his mouth. When she heard him finish his sentence after her own, she stammered an apology for interrupting, stepping back, tail between her legs and ears flat against her head. "Yeah, I'm ok..." "Are you ok Anna?"Altus sighed as he realized what was going on. It was that visit to the Dojo a while ago. Morana still hasn't learned to control her ability to see the future. Hopefully she'll get the hang of it soon. He turned back to Tolin, smiling apologetically. "Well, that's the jist of it. What do you say?" AtraAtra came into the building two days later, a bag of 8 coins, each worth 1,000 PD in his mouth. This time he had Katara fly him here, and left the Ditto-Skarmory outside to explore the city as she wished. He looked around, trying to figure out who was in charge. His eyes fell on a rather battered-looking old Scyther. Something in Atra's mind clicked. The letter he had gotten was signed Tolin... If this was the Tolin Atra knew, then that would mean the Scyther's the one in charge here. Naturally of course. The eevee padded up to him, and dropped the bag of PD. "I'm here to learn Shadow Ball today."((Sorry for making you RP the same character in two separate time frames XD))

TolinTolin nodded, returning the smile. He wasn't exactly sure why Morana was speaking ahead of him, though he had guesses. Either way, he wouldn't let it phase him. " Of course. I'd be glad to have you both as our staff. Please, come this way." Tolin slid the book over towards the shelf, picking it up mid-way with his mind and letting it settle neatly in it's place. He stood and walked to the door, pulling the key from the desk nearby into the lock, where it turned with a neat "click". " If you have any questions, just ask." Tolin pushed the doors inward and entered the previously locked room. It was almost suspiciously large, with rooms and areas scattered about the larger structure seemingly at random. " This is where you will train any who come seeking your tutelage. Please look around." Puer & TolinTolin was surprised when Atra came into the building. The two days that had passed had granted him the ability to concentrate a tad better. At least enough that he could notice people coming in, even if he was reading. " He looks rather..." Tolin let out a soft chuckle, pulling together the strings rather quickly. Tolin's reply was a simple nod. " Puer, come here please!" The Rhyhorn had been pacing back and forth, obviously nervous. He greeted the Eevee with a raised eyebrow and a confused look. " Puer will be your tutor for this ability. I will accompany you both to supervise for today." Tolin got up from the chair and moved towards the door, the lock quietly clicking as he approached it. Puer spoke quietly to Tolin as they entered the training area. " Isn't he...?" " No, but you're close. I'll explain later, don't worry about it for now."

AtraAtra stepped into the rather large training room, eyes darting between the different areas, each probably designed to help teach different kinds of moves. This would be interesting- at the Dojo they simply gave you a TM for you to gain the magic necessary, and you're to figure it out on your own. Here, you're taught the move but they can't do anything to give you the magic. "C'mon, let's start!" The impatient Atra ran into the training room, not particularly caring where they'll be training as long as it was soon. One more move for his arsenal, and two more tomorrow!

Puer & Tolin" Yes, yes. Please be patient." Tolin led the two to one of the longer rooms. A large, reinforced wall stood at one end with several (rather large) targets placed. Distances of every few meters were marked on the floor; it was clearly meant for training ranged abilities with considerable kinetic force. Something that could punch a hole in a normal wall. " As I said before, Puer will be your tutor. Puer, if you would." Tolin moved slightly away from the pair to stand nearby. Not too far, but far enough that he wouldn't get in the way. " Alright, so you... uh..." Puer considered where to start. It was weird teaching someone else, especially when he was teaching something he had some difficulty with. He finally spoke with uncertainty after a few awkward moments. " Here, I'll show you." Puer turned to face the targets and began to focus. His eyes narrowed and his legs tensed as he concentrated on pulling out the energy he needed. The small ball formed just above the tip of his horn. He let it grow for a moment before firing it off at the target. " It's something like that." Atra stared back at Puer, a mixture of disbelief and vexation showing clearly on his face. Tolin openly laughed at the situation, although it was one free of derision. He'd expected Puer to do something like this, but he hadn't expected him to be so frank about it... He'd known from the start that his companion would have a hard time teaching someone else; it's why he came. Puer turned his head to the side, obviously embarrassed by the laughter and his own stupid-sounding explanation. " Atra, since you signed up for this, I'm assuming you have something similar? Could you show us and explain how you use it? It would give us a better idea of how to explain Shadow Ball to you."

AtraAtra huffed indignantly, more than just a little annoyed. Figures the tutor wouldn't know how to teach. Atra would go and get some money from home to hire a professional tutor, but if Albus found out...grrrr. He turned to the Scyther, who actually seemed to know what he was talking about. "I got a TM a while back. It's Night Slash, but I've...altered it." Atra offered, and then fell into the concentration of spellcasting. This was one of his more powerful spells, and he's only used it twice- once on a Charizard and once on a Gyarados. He didn't need the full power here though, and summoned a few wisps of dark energy. As they swirled around in a whirlwind, he sharpened them into blades, giving them deadly points. They all suddenly turned inwards, converging at one point before dispersing. If anything had been in the middle of it, it would have been impaled half a dozen times. Atra let go of the magic, allowing it to disperse. "About the closest thing I have. I just have to concentrate the Dark magic until the force of it can cut." It's a lot more complicated than that, but he'll explain further only if they needed it. Magical Theory wasn't something that could be explained in a few minutes, and it's not like Atra's the one here to teach.

Puer & Tolin" Thank you, Atra. Does that help, Puer? Puer nodded and turned back to the target. Closing his eyes, he began to concentrate as Atra had. His breathing slowed down and a small Shadow Ball about the size of a marble appeared above his horn. The murky blob began to churn as it increased in size, it's contents seeming to fold in upon themselves and expand at random. The blob suddenly shifted, it's shape morphing. The movements became constant and uniform, spiraling towards each end from the middle. The streams shrunk in size and multiplied, each one as fine as silk. He fired it at the target, only to have it dissipate shortly before reaching it. He stared after the path it had taken for a moment, cocking his head slightly. " Hm... I think you're trying too hard. You just kind of need to... put "it" there and keep it there. Pull it out and then push as much of it as you can into one place. Don't try to do anything to it." Tolin dug his scythe into his bag. Leafing through the contents, he eventually pulled out a small slip of paper and placed it on the ground. Held with psychokinesis, it hung unnaturally to the tip of his scythe until it reached the floor. " Atra, try holding onto that when you use it. It'll give you a better idea of what to do." (( It's a Spell Tag razz ))

AtraAtra stared at Puer for a moment, and then shook his head, accepting the slip of paper from Tolin. Screw it, let's just try it first. Immediately he could feel the magic amplifying powers imbued within the paper, and he felt its connection to ghost magic. Hiding his distaste for ghosts -he will learn this move damn it- he followed the line of magic through the slip of paper and summoned his own through it, augmented with his dark magic. A blob of dark purple energy gathered before him, and as he closed his eyes to concentrate, it only got larger and more powerful. When he opened his eyes it was a contorting blob about the size of a grapefruit, and Atra gave it a simple magical push. The blob flew forward, missing the targets, and dissipating as it smacked against the wall. Not bad! It took about an hour, but Atra finally mastered it enough for himself to practise it on his own without the help of the Spell Tag. --- The following day he came back again. Having already paid for today's moves, he carried nothing on him except a small standard explorer's bag. Just like yesterday, he hopped over to the Scyther the moment he spotted him, perhaps not paying a bit more attention to others who were also there... "Good morning! I'm ready for Water Pulse and Icicle Spear!"

TolinTolin noticed Atra entering the door. He closed his book, placing it neatly on the table beside his chair. " Good Morning, Atra. Your tutor's already inside. Please, go ahead in; he's at the same place we were yesterday." The door was slightly ajar, revealing that it was unlocked. Tolin called ahead, " Your pupil is on the way!" After Atra went inside, it quietly swung closed and locked quietly with a slight "click". Tolin let out a small chuckle as he went back to reading his novel. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- AlbusAlbus had gone in early to practice Water Pulse and Icicle Spear at Tolin's behest. " You need to have a good idea of how they function to teach them to someone else, so go inside and get a bit of practice first. Try to figure out how you'll explain it." Albus hadn't particularly agreed with the analysis; he felt he was more than competent enough to deal with it as he was. But he followed the advice out of respect and a slight dash of trust. When he heard Tolin's voice call through the door he was relieved. He was pretty sure he'd figured everything out and that he'd be able to teach it easily, as long as his pupil was competent. He turned to face the entrance to the range, shock enveloping his features as he saw his brother walk in. " What. What are you doing here!?"
