As the people I can relate to and care most about on this site I post this message to you. I pray that nothing comes of this information that I present, but it is intensely likely. Please take it to heart, and digest it with a grain of salt. Maybe you distrust my source, or it's poster, but know that I only post the information and thoughts that I feel will uplift the knowledge and safety of those I care for. Steve,
Having listened to Hawk's broadcast, I wanted to pass something along.
Two weeks ago, a lifetime family friend who runs a hunting service, stopped by my office. (He has another business which our business utilizes.) He dropped off our invoice (they are usually mailed) and he said to me, "Can we talk for a minute?"
We went into my office, and he said, "You might want to sit down." He has a hunting client who is retired CIA who told him that the grid would go down in June/July. Our friend told me, "It is to mask the global monetary collapse." He then went on to say that it would be, "either an EMP attack or the Chinese would shut the lights out 'with the push of a computer key.'"
He then said something that I didn't understand (until I heard Hawk's broadcast.) He said, "they are going to evacuate the cities....you don't want to be next to a railroad track."
I thought this sounded funny and I didn't think that I heard it right. Until I heard Greg on Hawk's broadcast.

the electricity going off is my biggest fear. and it makes sense to me that they would evacuate the cities because without electricity the whole system would collapse. every store could be robbed, no stores cash registers would work so sales would stop, shipping of goods would probably stop, gas pumping would stop, even water could be turned off by the selfish privatized companies because their meters could no longer track how much is used. the people of the cities would run out of food fast, and would be begging for aid. they would beg to go to FEMA camps. I just don't know what I would do in a situation like that, I am not prepared. I would be at their mercy =/ oh god, and what about all the cats and dogs.. man that would be sooooooo horrible!

I'll believe it when I see it. If it happens then bring it on; I'm prepared for that kind of thing.
My only concern is for my friends and loved ones that aren't, or live closer to the population centers.

the US power grid is not hooked into the core network. It's a standalone from the internet. China can't hack that unless they were on site. If the power grid goes down u can bet the US gov is doing it, not the Chinese. but it may get blamed on the Chinese.
Anyways, i doubt this will happen... Seeing as how information like this shouldnt be leaked so easily. An ex CIA can't have obtained information like this, else the people involved in this plan, are bad with security and i doubt anything of this magnitude would have such terrible security that it would go on the net. Anyways, its on the net now, if its true... It probably won't happen now. neutral

I'm in the UK, so I really don't know what this will do to us. But if anything does happen, I'll be pissed. Having grown up on electricity, something like this would scare the crap out of me.

The train part makes sense. When I mentored a Civil Engineer, they mentioned that the railways are a higher priority than the highway, and the trains get higher privalidges, despite being less used than the highways.

EMP could leave '9 out of 10 Americans dead' Analyst: 'That is exactly what Iranians are working toward' Posted: May 03, 2010 9:47 pm Eastern
© 2010 WorldNetDailyEditor's Note: The following report is excerpted from Joseph Farah's G2 Bulletin, the premium online newsletter published by the founder of WND. Subscriptions are $99 a year or, for monthly trials, just $9.95 per month for credit card users, and provide instant access for the complete reports. There is renewed alarm about the possibility of an EMP attack – electromagnetic pulse – on the United States because of Iran's work on a multi-stage Space Launch Vehicle, according to a report from Joseph Farah's G2 Bulletin. And experts forecast if such an attack were a success, it effectively could throw the U.S. back into an age of agriculture. "Within a year of that attack, nine out of 10 Americans would be dead, because we can't support a population of the present size in urban centers and the like without electricity," said Frank Gaffney, president of the Center for Security Policy. "And that is exactly what I believe the Iranians are working towards." A recent launch of an SLV by Iran has sparked renewed concern of an attack that could send an electromagnetic pulse powerful enough to wipe out computer controls for systems on which society has come to rely, officials say. As the G2 Bulletin reported last week, Ronald Burgess, director of the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency, revealed that Iran successfully launched a multi-stage SLV, the Simorgh. The device ultimately could be equipped with a nuclear bomb, which the U.S. intelligence community assesses Iran is developing. Officials also report Iran has been testing detonation of its nuclear-capable missiles by remote control while still in high-altitude flight. The development makes a potential EMP attack on the U.S. more probable.

The possibility of an EMP attack was a subject of discussion on Coast to Coast AM the other night.
What are the odds that this is being added to the list of reasons why we invade Iran in the next couple years? This could all just be more of Saddam's WMDs.

Solar Flares could make the electricity go out too. EMPs are so strange to me, I don't understand how they work, is it like an overload of energy (the same as solar flares)? Would an EMP damage live beings? Oh and they don't affect cars like in War of the Worlds right? lol.

Would an EMP damage live beings? Oh and they don't affect cars like in War of the Worlds right? lol. The way an EMP attack would work is a small nuclear device would be detonated high in the atmosphere over the target. The gamma rays emitted by the detonation excite the gasses in the atmosphere and cause them to give off high amounts of electromagnetic radiation. This radiation induces charges in unshielded electronic components and overwhelms or burns them out, effectively destroying them. The actual EM does not harm people. There are ways to cause an EMP without nuclear detonation, but it's a good deal more complex. The basics of an EMP pulse are that it's effectively a power surge in all unprotected electronic equipment in range of the weapon. An EMP would affect all of the vulnerable electronic components of a car. EMP can also cause a detonation of fuel or ordnance, depending on various factors. There are some electronics that would not be harmed by an EMP and there are a lot of variables when talking about EMP vulnerability. Generally though, if someone were to attack the United States with an electromagnetic pulse weapon, currently, we would be super boned.
