"Steph if you don't get your makeup done in less than an hour I'll throw you mascara down the toilet!" The tall brunette pounded on the bathroom door with a fist. It was like this almost every morning; Steph taking up the bathroom for almost two hours, Kiara telling her to hurry up, and her brother sleeping later than both of them. Key slammed her palm hard on the door. The lock clicked and out came the petite sandy-blonde girl who took hours to finish her hair. "I'm done. Happy?" She glared at her older sister, her voice coming through clenched teeth. Stephanie had dyed her hair blonde Freshman year and got her roots touched up every month or so. She said she was born a blonde at heart. Kiara didn't doubt that at all. The 16 year old pushed past her sister, trotting into her room and closing the door. She was a vision of skinny jeans and aeropostale, followed by a cloud of perfume. Kiara coughed, heading into the bathroom. She stripped and showered faster than it took Steph to brush her teeth. She blow dryed and brushed her locks before quickly applying her makeup. Kiara said she didn't care about how she looked, but she really didn't have to. She was naturally pretty without the caked on makeup most girls needed to be pretty. Key threw on the outfit she had brought with her and practically ran downstairs.
Mrs. Rickers was seated in the breakfast nook with her laptop and a cup of coffee. Steph was munching on a bagel and staring out over the backyard from the kitchen window. Her mother looked up as Key came in. "Morning Key, your brother up yet?" Kiara shook her head, giving her mother a quick peck on the cheek. "I've gotta run if I'm going to stop by the theater on my way to school. Oh yeah, thanks for the mascara Steph!" She called, waving it over her shoulder as she grabbed a banana and bounded out to her car. Muffled squeals came from inside the house as she went, along with some calming down by her mother. Key laughed, hopping into the drivers seat of her Corvette ZR1. It was her baby that she got last year for her birthday. She checked her mirrors and pulled out, squealing the tires as she turned downt the street. Last week she had tried out for a part in Oklahoma! the musical. She was trying for the lead female, Laurey Williams. It was the main musical being performed downtown at The Theater. They were posting the roles outside on the information board this morning and Key had to know whether she got the part before school started. She couldn't stand not knowing all through the day. Musicals were her thing. She could act, and was a great singer. She didn't do plays though. Only performances with music throughout the show. She didn't just sing either. She had to be in a cast. Outside the doors to the main stage, a small cluster of people had grouped around the Information board. Over somebody's head she saw a paper that read 'Oklahoma! Cast' in big bold letters. A boy she knew was named Henry, who was an amazing actor/singer, turned around to grin at her. Henry had been in other musicals with Kiara since they were both in middle school. His broad smile and triumphant eyes said he got the lead male. Key flashed him a thumbs up and he gave a small bow. She laughed, pushing her way gently to the front. Her finger trailed down the list to find where the part of Laurey was listed. She found it and ran the forefinger over to who it would be played by. "Laurey Williams, played by Miss Kiara Rickers!" She squealed. A tall woman behind her patted her shoulder and smiled. She was one of the stage directors that Key had worked with before. A couple people in the growing crowd murmured their congrats as they scanned the list.
Kiara skipped back to her car, zipping over to the Highschool. She pulled up, a radiant smile striking her features. She was practically glowing. Key slipped her bag over her shoulder as she got out of the car. The school was beginning to fill with the usually steady stream of people. She glanced down at the text she had received from Joey moments before she arrived. Her eyes caught him standing with practically everyone by his car. At least some of her friends were there already. She checked the time on hr phone. She had time to chat before heading to her locker and English. She strode over to them, trying not to burst out giggling. She was giddy over her getting the part. "Good morning mi amigo! What, is this like the new meeting spot for the entire student body?" She laughed, smiling at Joey. Geez, he was quite the popular one, wasn't he? She rocked back on her heels slightly. He could almost count as a babe magnet for the pretty girls he was surrounded with. Key was just super good friends with Joseph. She had eyes for someone else, and him only. Mister Serious Actor was her next mission. She had gotten the part, now she needed her man. She watched Arianna kiss Joey. She really was a slut. She was always clinging to Key's brother whenever he was around. Arianna probably just knew Key because of the fact that Mister Man Whore was her brother. It was a suckish reputation, but she really didn't care.XXXXXXXX ██████ ██ █ ███ ████████ Outfit

A single spotlight lit the lone microphone stand on the stage. A murmur ran through the crowd as the wait grew longer. The crowd was antsy and wanted something to happen. A couple stood up to leave as a ripple of awe spread through thecrowd. Now a tall girl with light blonde hair stood by the microphone, eyes closed and lips poised. Then she opened her mouth, the couple caught dead in their tracks. Her voice was a haunting melody, beautiful and enough to make the meanest old man cry. The audience was struck silent. The girl continued to sing, her voice growing louder and brighter as the song went on. When she was done she closed her eyes and stepped back from the microphone, head bowed. The spotlight still illumianted her. She looked up solemnly, scanning the crowd before breaking out in a bright smile. The audience stood up, clapping loudly and a coupole people whistling. A single rose landed at the girl's feet. But the rose wasn't a red one, it was a bright, cheery yellow rose, her absolute favorite. She grinned, bringing the rose to her nose. The crowd was now chanting. "Shaylee. Shaylee. Shaylee." She closed her eyes tight as the voice changed from hundreds to a single voice she knew all to well. The stage around her faded and all that was left was the dim gray of the backs of her eyelids...
"Shay? Shaylee! Wake up before mom has a coniption! She called you like half an hour ago! Was your alarm on?" Shaylee groaned at the sound of her thirteen year old brother's voice next to her ear. Why was that boy always the one to wake her from her pleasant dreams? Shay huffed and rolled over to face the wall. She heard her brother take a few steps to the door, his soft footfalls stopping just short of the hallway. "Oh, and by the way," She could hear the evil grin lacing his words. "You had better get your a** out of bed if you want a ride, cause Sean is leaving in a half hour." Shay whipped her pillow out from under her head and threw it at him with all her might. Kyle snickered and headed down the hall, slamming his bedroom door loud enough that the echo probably reached Sean downstairs. Shay sat up, frowning at the pillow which was now out of her reach. Damn... She hadn't really thought that one through. She flung her legs over the side of her bed, her feet brushing the ground in search of her slippers. Her blinds were open, casting early morning sunshine over the room. It illuminated the red walls, making them seem lighter than they really were. She smiled thinking of her mother's expression when Sean had helped her paint her room. Her face had been frozen in horror at the sight of her nice creamy white wall, gone. She loved her room, with its deep walls and black and white accents. That was her color sceme, as thought of by her and her 19 year old brother Sean one day last summer. The colors were bold and deep, yet quiet and calm, just like Shaylee. She was bold and deep up in front of the microphone, yet quiet, calm, and refined offstage. They were her two personalities that were distinctly her.
Shaylee stood up, digging through her closet and pulling out a random cute outfit from the front hangers. She held it up to her in front of her mirror and smiled. She layed it on the bed and looked towards the door to see Sean leaning up against the door jam. Shay gave a smile and ran a brush through her light blonde hair. She had been smart and had taken a shower the night before so she wouldn't be fighting Chrissy for the bathroom. Her three siblings could get really annoying sometimes. There was Kyle, the 13 year old jerk and heartbreaker, Sean the 19 year old guitarist and the sibling who got Shay into music, and then there was Chrissy. Formally Christine, the 16 year old was the living hell of sisters. She was the drama queen, the one who gave up her virginity as a freshman, went to every party, and was now attending a private school to get her awy from the 'riff raff', as her mother said. She was also the worlds worst bathroom hog. "So is Chrissy...?" Shay asked him, not even having to end the sentence. Sean smiled his funny crooked grin. "Uh huh, she left about 10 minutes ago. Didn't you hear her argument with mom?" Shay shook her head and Sean laughed. "Geez, Shaylee, you could sleep through a hurricane! I'll give you 15 and then I've gotta go." Sean smiled over his shoulder and left, his footsteps thudding down the carpeted stairs.
Shay got dressed and did her makeup before heading down to the kitchen. Her mother smiled at her when she grabbed a banana and muffin from the counter. Sean looked up from the article he was reading in his 'Broadway Monthly' magazine. "Ready?" He set the magazine on the table and grabbed his keys. Shay kissed her mother's cheek and smiled at Kyle who was gulping down cereal. Kyle practically dropped his empty bowl in the sink and went after them. He had the Justin Bieber affect with his hair, which he flipped a million times a day. Shay claimed the front seat of her brother's pearly white Escalade. They weren't rich, but her brother's shows he did earned him a good sum of money pretty quickly. They dropped Kyle off at the middle school and pulled up in front of the highschool. Shaylee's car had been totaled by the joy that was a newly liscenced Christine and plenty off alcohal. Shaylee grimaced just thinking about it. She kissed her brother's freshly shaved face and climbed out, hoisting her bag over her shoulder. She gave a little wave and headed inside. It was early so she headed straight towards the auditorium. It was her favorite place to go when she was early. She set her bag down in front of the stage and climbed up on the polished wood surface, worn by years and year of productions. She clicked the on switch on the single microphone that graced the stage. She did a few warm up bars and then hummed a few melodies. She belted out a few pretty lines from a Celine Dion song, her voice ringing out over the empty seats. She gave a delighted sigh, singing the rest of the song, her eyes closed, heart focused on the enchanting music she was creating. XXXXXXXX ██████ ██ █ ███ ████████ Outfit
