A favorite topic of discussion for X-men junkies such as myself.

For one, we have:

THE BLOB (Frederick Dukes)
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

[A QUICK HISTORY OF THE BLOB]

1. Refused to join the X-men. Xavier then wiped Fred's mind. Fred then instead joined the Brotherhood of Mutants after Xavier's mind-wipe was removed on him.
2. Quit Brotherhood after a battle with the X-men where Magneto sent torpedoes flying at the X-men, not caring Blob was in the way. He emerged completely uninjured, but felt betrayed and left the Brotherhood.
3. Formed the New Brotherhood with Mastermind and others.

[POWERS]
The Blob is capable of creating a one-direction gravity field extending five feet from himself. As long as he is on the ground, he is essentially unmoveable and unable to be approached if he doesn't want you to.

He can NOT feel pain. He is capable of absorbing the impact of anything; cannons, missiles, Juggernaut punches, etc due to his elasticity and fast cell replacement.

[WEAKNESSES]
Weak spots include eyes, ears, mouth, and nose. Also not immune to the elements (fire, for example.)

On the other hand, we have:

THE JUGGERNAUT (Cain Marko)
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

[A QUICK HISTORY OF THE JUGGERNAUT]
1. Stepbrother of Charles Xavier.
2. Hates Xavier due to his brother's budding psychic powers enabling him to see the emotional torment his father Kurt Marko was putting him through. Also due to the fact that when the Marko's house set on fire, Kurt Marko saved Xavier first, confirming Cain's fears that Kurt loved his step brother more.
3. Cain and Charles discovered the lost tomb of Cyttorak, unearthing the Crimson Gem of Cyttorak. After touching it, its energy transformed him into a human juggernaut. After the temple collapsed afterwards Indiana Jones-style, Charles escaped and believed his brother dead.
4. Tried to kill Charles at every chance he could.
5. Teleported to another dimension, and helped form the Exiles.
6. Returned to his own dimension only to be flung across the western hemisphere by Onslaught. Found by the X-men and treated.
7. Worked as a bounty hunter for a bit.
8. Joined with Black Tom Cassidy and eventually requested the X-men's help to defeat him.
9. His life was saved by Sammy Pare, whom he formed an immediate bond with, and soon after he joined the X-men.
10. Arrested by Alpha Flight, given the right to stand trial and began a relationship with his lawyer She-Hulk.
11. Samuel's mother asked for Cain to recieve a reduced sentence, and continued work with the X-men.
12. Flew back home to join the British team Excalibur.

History wasn't as quick as I wanted, but lets be honest, he's done more than Blob.

[POWERS]

Juggernaut's power doesn't derive from a mutation; it is magical in nature, derived from the Gem of Cyttorak, meaning that mutants with the power to dampen a mutant's powers canonically cannot affect him.

He has infinite strength, and once he starts moving in a direction nothing on Earth is capable of stopping him; however, he can be slowed down considerably given some effort, but he cannot be permanently stopped when moving.

He cannot be injured.

He is capable of mentally surrounding himself with a force field, only furthering his ability to be unstoppable and make himself immune to any and all forms of injury. This power was eventually stripped from him, so he does not possess it for this canon battle with Blob.

He is able to go without food, water, or oxygen and be sustained only by the power of Cyttorak alone.

[WEAKNESSES]
He is extremely vulnerable to strong magic.
He is weak to mental attacks on his mind as long as he does not have his helmet and skullcap on.

~WHO WOULD WIN?~
PostPosted: Fri Apr 23, 2010 1:06 am

My sympathies to Blob, but I've always been a believer that the Juggernaut would win this one, for the fact that Blob has physical weaknesses that the Juggernaut could take advantage of, while the Juggernaut's weaknesses lie only in magic/psionic attacks, which the Blob doesn't have access to.

However, this is only considering if the Juggernaut could ever get close to Blob. With Blob's gravitational field he can make, he could easily tire out the Juggernaut (He CAN be tired out) from advancing on him too often and too quickly. Juggernaut's pace would be slowed to almost nothing, and the force of the Juggernaut's punch would barely do anything at this point, slowed by countless G's of gravity.

I already said.

the juggernaut, b***h.
through sheer willpower and anger, he would win.
and possibly eat the blob.

heres what would happen from a scientific standpoint. While the Blob is in fact immovable the ground he is utilizing is not. The force generated by the juggernaut would eventually cause the ground to give way under him which would cause him to move even if he was trying his darndest not to. Interesting side note, the hulk has move him before.

Blob has been depowered thanks to the Scarlet Witch.
He's a normal human being now.

Ergo, Juggernaut wins biggrin

When Blob was still a mutant, however, I still feel like Juggie would beat him, simply by wailing on the sensitive parts of Freddy.

It's kinda like the "who would win between Hulk and the Blob" scenario.
