I saw all those post about inflation in the bugs forum earlier and I have an idea on how to deflate it.
For those of us who have sufficient inventory and gold, we can deliberately sell items for lower prices, forcing others to do so too. In this way we can lower overall prices of overly inflated items to something more reasonable.
I am not asking those who are newer and gold poor to join in without first building up their own inventories. Fair is fair.

Exactly. Now, even midrange priced items are out of reach of newer members.
Gaia is doing this deliberately of course; all those rare collectables and expensive e.i.s. They keep raising the purchase prices, encouraging greed. They are also not introducing new starter items either.

Yeah, Here's what I think of the starter outfits:  They need to improve it like they did with the aquarium.

I'm not quite sure how to get inflation down in the MP. Some people tend to buy up all the lower priced items and sit on them in order to increase the price. *rolls eyes* It's called market highjack.
Now ....as to the price of items in the Cash Shop....this is where I really have a problem. There are a lot of people on here who just can't afford to spend real cash. I don't see why items have to be $5.00 or higher. Come on! It's only pixels for goodness sakes. Gaia has become very money hungry. It's all about the cash and not the people anymore.

And look what has happened since we've given Gaia our money:
*Servers go down, sometimes for hours or a day
*Database errors affect the site, sometimes for an entire day
*Events are scaled back or not even held anymore for certain days
*Gold shop updates come with like, one or two items and various recolors of it
*Site layout has been changed to the anger of the users
But the cash shop never has a problem! And that new RIG that comes out every month always gets an announcement.
As far as the inflation goes, I don't even buy anything from the market anymore. Its just ridiculous.

I second that motion. =D I mean, there's a bunch of stuff in gaia stores that we can easily save up for and the stores won't change prices.

One item that has totally skyrocketed in price is the Blue Gold mountain top. Last time I checked it was somewhere 80k and it's originalyl only supposed to be 15/25k. people are rediculous. its the same thing with the red shirt too!

We should try to get Gaia to have clearance sales before they get new items or something. Or maybe even one day a year where everything in the stores is half off. I remember when i played Webkinz that they'd have sales and I think Fantage did it too-can't remember. I think that if we want to help make items go down in price is to not be greedy and lower the price for example: the blue gold mountain top. Instead of it being 80/90k we can bring it back down to 25k or so. When i sell things in the marketplace I usually sell it for 1k less than the previous seller is offering the item for. So people will keep lowering the price with the occasional idiot who wants to higher it will higher it. In other words; we need to get people into the habit of REASONABLE PRICING. (I am really starting to love this guild!)

I used to play webkinz of course, but my account recently expired. But anyway, back to the matter at hand. Sure it would be nice for them to have a clearence, but will they get rid of the item is the question. Some of the stuff in stores is pretty good (except the ones in junk in the trunk though some of the stuff there is good.) Not counting what's up with derrnier cri? That place is flipping exspensive. X_X

X_X That is a very good question. Maybe they could have a 75 percent off sale for the item they're giving away for people to buy it or something?

I don't get why gaia can't just put EVERY SINGLE ITEM in the stores so we don't get ripped off by the greedy people in marketplace who wants to sell items for 10 times more than what they're worth. They need to just do my idea and get rid of marketplace all together. Gaians will definetly save much, much more money. I for on am sick of the people who want to skyrocket prices.

Selling things on the MP for a lower price than others is a good idea, but you would need to have many of us doing that in order to drive the prices down. Sadly, greed does prevail in the hearts of many.
As to things being over priced, much of this is Gaia's own doing. They have their own ''gold sink'' shop. Nothing for the aquariums can be purchased with only gold. It has to be bought by someone with real money first before it even hits the market. Even your MC's, EI's, etc, cannot be bought without them being originally purchased by someone with cash. Till Gaia stops looking for the almighty buck, this will not stop.
My suggestion to all of you ...... STOP BUYING GAIA CASH. It could take a few months, but it will drive the message home to their Accounting Department. *shakes head sadly* Now if only we could get people to do this and stick to it for a while. That is the way to curb inflation.
