Being a vampyre was amazing. He could hear and smell everything. And his sight!!! It truly astounded him. Though, vampyre wasn't all he was. He was at least a third Fey thanks to his grandmother, the Sin, Avarice. The proof of that was the faint silvery glow surrounding him. A small, hidden smirk spread on his lips as his dark rainbow striped tail curled around his dark paws. His midnight black eyes scanned the small garden he crouched in. His ears flicked, laying completely back on his head. He was hunting. He didn't need to be thinking of the wonders of his existence.
A small rustle made his ears perk slightly. Another smirk broke out on his lips as he wrested his emotions calm. Centering himself, he sent his senses out, searching for the source of the sound. .....THERE!! A rather deer grazed, happily oblivious. With a low growl, he lifted up, winking suddenly from visibility in a soft lavender flare of light.
The deer's ears twitched, his nostrils flaring. He knew a predator was near... but where? His ears strained for any sound. None came. Slowly, he lifted his head, scenting the air. Nothing there, either. Confused, he lowered his head again, grazing nervously now. A small breeze whooshed by him and his head jerked up. His now wide eyes locked with the blazing heat of onyx canopied by sky blue. Shrieking, he turned and ran, galloping off like a rocket.
Zeru laughed, his mismatched wings flaring in victory for a moment before curling back to his body. He wasn't hungry. He was just practicing his Fey and vampyre talents. His speed and hearing and smell were gifts from his father. His Fey talents were few but powerful. He was a master of the Spirit and Air magics, and a third level talent in Fire magic.
Lavender Spirit swirled at his paws, as result of the invisibility weave he'd just dispersed. And the breeze the deer had felt? That hadn't been him moving, he'd been standing in front of it the entire time. If the beast had better vision, he could have seen the faint silver tint to the breeze signally it was magic. But, the animals were not nearly as fun as the creatures his Gramma spoke of. They seemed like they would be a challenge to hunt, unlike the prey he was forced to make due with here.

The little Goddess had been flying around a garden that she spotted from above. Her wings carried her effortlessly through the air now after spending much time practicing. She powered herself through the sky, enjoying the feel of the wind in her hair. She, of course, made sure not to fly too fast so her feathered friends would not end up separated from her.
The tiny birds flew with all their might to keep up with her, their tiny wings fluttering as fast and strong as they would let them. Avia swooped up and circled behind them, scooping them up in her arms and laughing.
Feeling a bit daring with her newer skill of flying she decides it's time to try diving. After taking in a deep breath she holds her companions close and angles herself towards the ground, tucking in her wings to pick up speed. As they get closer and closer to the greenery of the garden she spreads her wings and swoops over a deer as it's running away from something.
As per her nature, curiosity gripped her and she turned about to try and find the source that scared the deer. slowly down she fluttered her wings steadily and lands softly on the ground. She opened her arms, letting her bird friends go and began to pad about, in search of something or someone.

A new scent drifted on the winds, making his ears perk. A second later, his ears pricked as the sound of something landing softly in the lush greenery sounded like an explosion in his head. He lifted his head, sniffing lightly. The scent seemed somewhat.... familiar. But how did he know it? Frowning, his brows drawing together in confusion, he summoned his magic. Lavender tinged tendrils snaked around his paws, merging together in the patterns of his invisibility weave. Again, one moment he was there, and the next he was gone.
Cloaked in his weave, he darted forward. Silvery Air threads burst around him, condensing quickly in a tight weave around him [a precautionary measure to make sure whatever he was tracking didn't pick up on his scent unless he wanted them to]. The scent got stronger. It was warm and sweet, meaning whatever it was was female. He slowed his pace, creeping forward silently now. His onyx eyes scanned the vast expanse of the garden. Nothing, so fa--- What was that?
Something small, though about twice the size of a normal kit, was wandering around. With what looked to be two small white birds hovering around, the something--or someone, rather--looked to be searching for something. Tilting his head, he sauntered calmly over, still cloaked in his weaves. The closer he got, the more distinctive the little things markings and body became. A slow, easy smile spread on his face. Oh, yes, he remembered this one now. What was her name...? Avia? Yes! It was Avia, the little bubbly Goddess whose happiness was contagious.
On a whim of pure mischievous wickedness, he padded over to her. After a moment of gauging which way she would most likely turn her eyes to next, he dropped both of his concealment weaves and appeared to pop out of the air from nowhere. "Hello, little Goddess~" He purred, his dark eyes dancing with barely concealed sparks of magic.

Avia took in all the beautiful colors and scents that surrounded her in the garden. So many wondrous flowers. Delicate petals danced with the small breezes that blew through them, captivating her eyes as if to lure her in. A small contented sigh slips through her lips as she takes it all in.
Her small companions found a couple puddles nearby. They chirped happily as they scurried over to them for the chance to enjoy a refreshing bath. Avia's eyes followed them to keep a close eye on them for they were her forever friends and she'd be lost without them.
After a minute or so her ears picked up a quiet sound that was close by. Figuring it was just a little creature that lived in the garden she paid it little mind. Just a few seconds after she dismissed the thought, another fox appeared right in front of her. Startled, she tumbled back a couple steps and let out a gasp. "Oh my!" She took in a deep breath as she tried to regain her composure after the scare, her body tensed.
Her birds looked up from their splishing and splashing to see someone near Avia. Worried the quickly fluttered to her, settling down on opposite sides, protectively giving small hisses.
Avia looked at him closely and tilted her head, fluttering her wings. She knew he was familiar to her and loosened her tight muscles and relaxed a bit. After a minute she sat up, resting a light paw on her friends to calm them. "Settle down Tui and La.. He won't hurt us" A sweet smile spread across her face as she finally remembered his face. "Zeru~"

The hissing birds amused him. Why? He didn't know. They just... did. Wrapping his multi-coloured tail around himself, he sat, flashing the kitling a grin full of fangs. "Aiyah, kem'falla, I am Zeru," he purred, his voice throbbing with the seductive air that seemed to surround him. His onyx eyes flashed with lavender, silver, and red sparks. The tip of his tail twitched, and he turned his eyes skyward.
"Where are your parents, kitling? Do you not know that there are many who would see prey in a young Goddess?" He murmured, subconsciously moving closer to her. Fey warriors protected females, at all cost. If her parents were not here, it would be his job to make sure nothing befell this sweet vixen. Settling that thought into his mind, his eyes flashed yet again, this time with fierce purpose. His black wings flared, the only sign of the slight agitation he felt. Her parents must know what a wonderful gift she is? Then why let her wander on her own? The thought baffled him.
He looked back at her, remembering that he had forgotten to apologize for scaring her. A bright, utterly embarrassing red flush dashed his cheeks. He looked so like his father when that happened [or, so said his mela]. "Forgive me for scaring you, aijana. I keep forgetting that most here are not few and do not weave magic as we do." He smiled, this time a bare lift of the corner of his lips.

Tui and La settled down a bit, at least not hissing anymore, but they still weren't sure about him. Their small wings flitted in frustration then tucked them in and they both sat, quiet and watchfully over Avia, keeping an ever so close eye on the male.
A laugh had made its way from Avia's mouth at her protective little friends. "Don't mind them.. they are quite protective of me." Her purple eyes gazed over Zeru's body, picking up on his body language of agitation. [Through her eyes she can see deeper, their color giving her the power to judge others' intentions and sense their feelings] "Yes Zeru.. my parents know I'm out and about~ I go out a lot. I was blessed with the power to see others' hearts and such. It still has a long way to go before it's closer to perfection, but I at least get a sense of who others are and I know that I can feel safe with you~"
She paused a moment and gave him a reassuring smile and giggled a bit "Plus I have my daddy's powers of winter!" A swirling fog began to form around her body, sending a chill through the air and frosting the flowers close by. A wide grin spread across her face as she sent a chilled fog towards him, weaving it between his feet then up around his neck with careful concentration. Goosebumps prickled up on her skin with the chill and excitement of using her powers.
Not wanting to hurt the surrounding flowers, she dispersed her wintry power and gave another giggle to Zeru.

The amusing little birds were watching him closely. This only amused him more--almost to the point he wanted to laugh, but that would be terribly rude of him. So, instead of laughing, he sent a slight smile their way. A moment later his onyx eyes became hazy as he wove a thread of Spirit, spearing out to both of the birds. «Do not worry, little Fey'cha, I will not harm your Goddess.»
Turning, Zeru spoke aloud to the young Goddess, "It is good to be protective of one's friends. They have the heart of a warrior if they protect you so fiercely." He hoped he hadn't startled the birds with his mind-to-mind Spirit weave. A slight frown creased his mouth at that thought. A frightened animal would well up his hunter's instincts, and that was something he refused to show this kitling.
His body relaxed as she spoke, explaining her divine powers. It was a good ability to have, especially in times such as these. His heart clenched--a feeling he only felt thanks to his mela's mortality--when she smiled and said she knew she could feel safe with him. "Aiyah, kitling. I would never harm you," he spoke softly, watching as she summoned a frigidly cold fog.
The bite of the chilled air never reached him--to him, it felt like a simple breeze. Too bad, he thought bitterly, with my absence of warmth, I can't feel it. He watched as she pushed the fog towards him, felt the slight tingle in his paws as it swirled around him. But then it traveled up his legs and arms, curling around his neck and up his cheeks. He inhaled, and regretted it immediately. Her scent was infused in her powers, and her powers were more or less magic.
His eyes shot open, flashing brightly with lavender, silver, and red sparks. Silvery tendrils of Air magic snaked out about him, lashing wildly as his magic surged, somehow renewed and feeding off of her fog. The back of his throat was burning. His body felt like it would explode with all the contained power fighting for release. He growled low in his throat as she dispersed her power. His fur crackled and popped, sticking out in all different directions. His bright hair ruffling in the silver tinged maelstrom swirling around him. His body's natural silvery glow was no longer faint, but a bright, blazing light, like a star just before it turned super nova.
Shaking his head, he groaned as he dropped--ungracefully--to the ground and pulled his paws through his hair. Slowly, the maelstrom dissipated, leaving only a smaller breeze circling him. His fur stopped it's crackling, his body's glow faded back to it's original faint, soft light. He hid his eyes, groaning again. He knew he had probably just scared the living hell out of this female. And, honestly, he wouldn't blame her if she ran. In fact, he hoped she'd run, as bad as it sounded. He just... didn't want to hurt her.

Tui and La became slightly unnerved by the message because it confused them at first, but then they realized she would be safe and decided to go back to their puddles. Avia watched her little friends and guardians scuttle away, almost wanting to play in the puddle with them. "My mother has a bird companion, but I never know it's name. It keeps getting changed cause she never seems to remember it!" she laughed.
As she went to talk to him more about something, it fell from her mind in an instant as she noticed something happening to him, the change in his eyes was unsettling. Her eyes went wide as she felt a powerful surge of magic surround his body.
The winds of his magic blew about, sending painful shudders of fear down her spine. She couldn't breath as she watched what was happening in horror, knowing that somehow what was causing this was her fault. The light around him began to burn into her eyes so she ducked down and covered her face with her paws.
Tui and La felt the disturbances, and without any hesitation, rushed to Avia's side. Sensing their presence, Avia extended her wings over them and brought them in, close to her sides, shielding them.
Shivering and petrified, Avia didn't move, even when the unexplainable insanity of the magic burst settled.

The flutter of wings against the ground and the worried chirps of the the two white birds confirmed his fear. He had scared her. Badly. He groaned, picking himself up off the ground. His eyes still blazed with power, turning the inky blackness of them into molten amber. "Sieks'ta," Zeru gasped, his voice rough and gravelly, almost as if he were brutally tired, "I am sorry. I did not mean to scare you. You powers are... very potent magic." He grimaced, hoping she never did that to him again. It was an exhilarating rush; a heady, seductive lure to both his natures--vampyre and Fey. She was a Goddess, and kitling or not, she was powerful.
Another searing blush spread across his cheeks, seeping into the coolness of his flesh. Frustrated, he ran a paw through his already mussed hair. "Teska, please, forgive me. I swear I meant you no harm," he murmured, his ears falling in shame. He stopped, at a loss for words. He didn't know how to make this right. He feared he might not be able to make this right. His sharp teeth gripped his lower lip as he thought. A frightened kitling was a horrible a thing, especially when it you whom had frightened them.
Shoving back another surge of shame, he crept closer to her. Slowly, softly, he began to sing. His voice was a deep baritone, the words of the song were Feyan, perfectly accented. He knew she couldn't understand it, but when he was a kitling, it always calmed him. When he came close enough, he slid down beside her, wrapping his tail around her. Bright red threads of magic surrounded his paws as he wove them into a loose pattern and cast the warming Fire weave over her to make up for the absence of warmth in his body.
As the song came to it's crescendo, his voice fell away. He didn't breathe--thanks to being a vampyre, he didn't need to--for fear of making the burning sensation in the back of his throat worse. He simply hummed now, more to calm her than to ease the burning--though it did help. He only hoped it would work. He didn't want to lose the friendship of this Goddess.

The little goddess stayed still, not wanting to face the trouble she had caused.. she knew it was her fault and the guilt pained her deep down inside. She was one who loved bringing happily and love to others, and she had brought him pain.
Tui and La wriggled their way out from under her wings and stared at the male, feeling unsure of him once again. with loving chirps and soft touches they both stroked her sides in reassurance.
Continuing her state of hiding under her paws, she could sense the different emotions Zeru is going through and it made her heart ache even more. Hearing the sound of his voice, her ears flickered forward. Slowly she let her paws down and peered up at him with sad eyes.
As he began to sing her fur started to stand on end. The sound of his voice brought and instant comfort to her that sent shivers down her spine as it swept over her body. Her eyelids felt heavy and closed, her head now resting on her paws. A contented sigh slipped through her lips as he laid beside her, the comforting magical warmth calming her further. The small birds were hypnotized by his song and merely hopped out of the way.
Attentive ears had listened closely to the words, not of any tongue she could understand, but somehow they spoke to her soul. As his song turned to a gentle hum she began to hum along with him. The next thing just came so naturally.. her head leaned towards him and rested on his shoulder.

The sad, tormented look in Avia's eyes struck Zeru to the core. His heart clenched and his every protective instinct roared to the surface, demanding that he destroy whatever had made her look like that. The only problem was, he was the reason the happiness in her eyes had fled. He growled softly, the vibrations of his throat making his humming seem eerie for a moment. The birds had eyed him suspiciously again before his song had seemingly calmed them. Which, he supposed, was a good thing. If he was going to keep Avia close, it would be wise for him to win the trust of her two closest friends.
'But', he thought, looking down at the seemingly content kitling lying curled warmly in his tail, 'it is ultimately her decision as to whether or not she becomes lost to me.' He grimaced, purely terrified of that answer. Her soft voice joined his as he hummed, and a small smile curved his lips. Maybe her answer wouldn't be what he thought. He shifted slightly, bringing her smaller form completely--and firmly--into view. It was then that her little head moved, resting on his chest. No doubt she had intended it to fall on his shoulder, but he had moved unwittingly. He tilted his head slightly, recognizing it as a sign of affection--his mother was a slightly touchy-feelly vixen, so she did that to his father all the time.
"Avia, kem'falla, would you object to my staying here? Ku'shalah aiyah to nei. Bid me yes or no," he whispered, his voice still vaguely rough. This Goddess-kitling amused him, and the sigh she gave earlier sounded soul-deep. His brows creased as he wondered if maybe--just maybe--the Gods had deemed him worthy enough of shei'tanista bond. His throat clenched and tears sprang to his eyes. Ah, Gods, if they had! It would be such a wonderful thing, but he knew he was not worthy of such a treasure. Nor would he ever be.
The happy thoughts came crashing down as he forcefully pulled himself back to reality. The Gods toyed with him. That was all this was. Avia couldn't be his shei'tani. She was too happy, too innocent. And he? He was a warrior not worthy to protect and love her. He frowned, his still-molten-amber eyes turned towards the skies. They played a dangerous game with him. and he did not like it.

Emotions surged around Avia.. emotions the she wasn't sure belonged to her.. or really what they were. Her sensitive soul had picked up on Zeru's feelings even more so now and it was a bit confusing to the little Goddess. Once again she looked to her companions, seeing their relaxed nature... Once again she was reassured by them. They had a better insight to others souls better than her current ability allowed so what choice did she have but to trust them.
The sweet melody of his song stuck with her and she continued humming along to it, her sweet voice bringing a different life to it. She let her voice fall into silence and listened to the stirrings of the garden, snuggling close to him. As she laid her head on him, missing her target due to him shifting his body, she just went with it. He seemed to be comfortable with it and she knew she was. She tried for a moment to see if she could hear his heartbeat.
Her ears flickered as he spoke her name and asked her permission to stay. Slowly, her head nodded in response. Happy her heart was that he wanted to stay with him, so happy that her heart skipped a beat. "Yes Zeru.. please stay with me." she purred out to him softly.
With that she closed her eyes, feeling the most comfortable and content she's ever felt... even more so than with her own parents. A strange feeling tickled at her skin though, making her muscles twitch. She paid it little mind at first, thinking it was just from her pure state of happiness, but it became more and more persistent after a few minutes. A bit annoyed she opened her eyes and looked around at herself only to find that her body was now glowing a strange yet wonderful glow.

Quietly, Zeru listened as she hummed, leaned so comfortably against his cold chest. She confused him. She intrigued him. She drew him in. Faintly, he realized his head was dropping, his nose almost touching her. Without realizing it, he inhaled. Deeply. His throat was set afire; his eyes snapped open, blazing with the coloured sparks of his magics. She smelled like power, like innocence and mischief, like giggling bubbly laughter inducing summer days. A slow, deep growl rumbled in his chest, the sound more appreciative than anything.
His growl stopped, stuck in his burning throat when she answered him. He smiled, inwardly delighted with that particular answer. Her purr roused an answering rumble from him, a sense of relaxation and calm washing over him. He did not recognize those feelings as his, which threw him for a very unexpected loop. The only way for a Fey warrior to feel another feelings would be if they were projecting them or... He looked down at the little Goddess, not noticing the slight twitch of her muscles or the soft golden glow starting to surround her.
He flexed his paws, claws digging into the ground slightly. He also didn't notice the flows of silver, lavender, and red that streaked from him to her, seemingly feeding the glow. He turned his eyes, the tip of his tail and ears twitching as he thought. He felt tired. Very tired. And it was getting worse by the second. He sighed, looking back down at the kit encircled in his tail. Only... he couldn't see her. All he saw was a bright golden glowing blob. Startled, he flung open his senses, searching the surrounding areas for the source of the magic, but it looked like it was coming from nowhere and everywhere at the same time.
Another growl ripped from him, this one more menacing, as he flung his senses toward the unknown glow. It seemed... gentle and loving. The flows of it both taking his own magic and replenishing it over and over again. He attempted to shut down, to withdraw the weaves flowing from him. Nothing worked. His magic just kept seeping out, feeding the strange golden glow surrounding the kit. Frantic, he wove a quick Spirit weaving, pouring all of his panic and concern into it, «Avia! Kem'falla! Are you alright!?»

Concerned about the growl from him, Avia looks up at Zeru, wondering what was going on. The sight of his eyes ablaze once more was a bit unnerving, but not as much as the first time.
Her attention did not stay on Zeru though, but to the faint glow growing brighter and brighter with each passing moment. She could no longer feel anything, her senses closed off to the world around her. Strange sensations filled her mind and body... an intoxicating feeling.
The tingling feel became more and more intense and the glow enveloped her body like a cocoon. her body moved on it's own accord, her feet tucked themselves in, her wings stayed closed to her sides. It was like a strange dream... strange wonderful dream.
A few moments later her body began to feel different.. outside of the feeling the glow created. It began to feel heavier, longer. The strange sensation of the tingling began to fade away as the light dissipated. Her eyes slowly fluttered open as the last of the glow disappeared. In a daze she looked at Zeru, feeling a bit off. "What... what happened?" she stammered out.

Horrified, Zeru watched as the Spirit weave he'd flung at the strange glow got absorbed. A loud, defiant roar ripped through him as he prepared every ounce of his strength to battle back back the unknown magic surrounding his charge. Frantically, he spun all of his power into a single, solid, and extremely dense weave. With a snarl, he tensed, ready to hurl the wall of tri-coloured weaves to her. Seconds before he could, the glow faded away, seeping into everything and nothing all at once. He blinked, releasing the weave so it could disperse.
The Goddess-kitling was gone. In her place stood a fully grown, elegantly gorgeous Goddess. Something in him shifted, reaching for her before that something snapped. When it did, he was at her side. Her scent washed over him, making his throat clench. Before he knew what exactly was going on himself, he heard his own voice growling, "Ver reisa ku’chae. Kem surah, shei’tani. Your soul calls out. Mine answers, beloved."
Shock rocked him, sending tremors down the entire length of his body. He'd just spoken the claiming words of the shei'tanista bond. To Avia. She was his shei'tani. His legs felt weak, almost like they'd fall out from under him at any time. Her confusion bombarded him, beat at the barriers of his mind.
With a considerable amount of effort, he wove thick lavender strands of Spirit into a mirror and held it up for her. "This happened, shei'tani," he murmured, his voice husky and deeper than it had been. His paws shook slightly as he held the mirror for her. Tears welled in his eyes and threatened to spill over. The Gods had a very dark, very misleading sense of humor, it seemed.
