I'm told the faithful go to church. Now I have had issues with churches, no i'm not searching for the perfect church but I'm sick of the people that go. All I hear while in the pews is them gossiping etc so I don't attend.

Now if I do not attend church does that count me in the unfaithful part of america?

No... however it is NECESSARY for spiritual growth that you fellowship with other believers. This includes worship, bible study. You do not want to remain stagnant in your spirituality.

Just try out different churches - look for bible studies and youth groups that you can attend (if you're in my age group). Fail not to gather yourselves, right?

i know exactly where you're coming from. i had the same problem with a church i had attended my whole life and i had to leave. for a while i was okay, but i started feeling separated from God because i didn't have fellowship to strengthen my faith. a lot of churches are having this problem, but i've found that small groups and home church groups tend not to have this problem. try looking for one of those.

I don't believe that you would be counted as part of the unfaithful because it is not for the world to judge. Only one has the right to do that and that's God. However I definetly agree with Friar Thomas. It is extremely important for our walk with God that we continue to have the fellowship of brothers and sisters in the Lord. It is also important that we go to church. Psalm 122:1 KJV "I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord" Psalm 122:9 KJV "Because of the house of the Lord our God I will seek thy good". Jesus himself said his house is the "house of prayers". Luke 19:46 KJV " Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves".

Quote:
not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
Heb 10:25 (NKJV)

This verse isn't saying that you have to go to a church building, but you do have to go to "church."
And what is the church? It is the body of Christ. It is the members, not the building itself. The building itself means very little. I would seriously consider the above passage when deciding not to get together with believers, even if they do have sins. You and I have too many sins of our own to choose which sinners we don't want to be around.

Not every church is perfect. None that I've ever been to is, and I've gotten around in my time. Consider this. Perhaps God has a purpose for you in this imperfect church. God had a reason for sending His perfect Son into this disgraceful world, and it could be that you have a reason for being in that church.

Oh find a church of a different kind. My church used to meet in a movie theater and now it meets in a high school. I'd say at least 90% of the people that go there do actually listen to the sermon and carry out what is being taught.
Change isn't bad.

no that doesn't mean that. when someone is being unfaithful to you religion that means that you go against that religions teaching completely. when you do go to mass and you here people gossiping tell them to shut up or say something like this, "Umm. excuse me but we are in church and some of us are trying to listen to the priest." or something like that. Guilt trip them into not talking during mass. that way it is more convenient for you and for the people who go there to worship and not be bugged by gossipers.
