╫A Brief Account of His Life╫
Luo grew up and trained in the mist. He entered the academy at four, and by sixteen, had gone through it and in fact reached jounin because of his high aptitude. Taking two years off to train alone, Luo ventured deep into the mist and trained so harshly in suiton in order to gain what some would call a sage-like mastery over it. He then signed a contract with the sharks, and returned to serve his village. Since his beginning as a ninja, Luo has never failed a mission. His father an ex ANBU and his mother a shinobi from the rain. It was his mother who taught him how to use the senbon, and during his training, he mastered them as his primary weapon as well. After training with his mother, he trained heavily under his grand-father in his clan's jutsu, and under the former Mizukage in water jutsu. While training under the Mizukage, his friend and squad-mate Zane who was more apt at wind jutsu and sought to learn puppet mastery, left to train under the former Kazekage. It was after their training, and the moment they both reached jounin that disaster befell both kages. Since both villages were allied, a coup was set up by a renegade group of shinobi, and both kage's were killed. In each village, Luo and Zane both sought revenge, and slaughtered each and every man involved in the coup. In doing so, their battle prowess was seen, and seeing as how each of them were personally trained under both kages, were best suited for the positions. So Luo, remained in Kirigakure under obligations not only to his kage, but to his village under the silent treaty signed by his clan, and became Sandaime Luo Ushio, and Zane who remained in Sunagakure under obligation to the village, supposedly became Nindaime Zane Hajime. Since that moment, both countries became allies for life, and the two instantly began rebuilding the villages to their best abilities. After this tragedy, Luo became the head of the Ushio clan as his grandfather resigned and gave him the full chakra burn on the back of his neck. He resides in Kirigakure with his family and friends, although he thinks of his best friend quite often.

Missing-Nin

Although filled with countless stories about his adventures with his squad-mates, Luo's story truly doesn't begin to blossom until he left the village. Luo was one of the most studious chuunin in the village, and it in fact got to a point that at his rank there was nothing left for him to learn. It was around this time that Luo began growing tired of the village. His mind yearned for more, and he was not one to openly accept having nothing to do. After weeks of thinking it over, Luo began to gather materials. As one of his friends was part of a clan who specialized in making weapons, Luo bought supplies from the Damascus clan. He then began gathering bare necessities for a trip no one knew about until the day of. As he broke the news to his parents, although a bit displeased that he waited until leaving to tell them, they relented and allowed him to go find himself. It was around this time Luo was seeing a girl named Namika Asaka. The last time they'd truly done anything together was when he met her for dinner after his chuunin exams. He remembered quite frankly how much she scolded him for showing up with blood stains and a torn shirt. When he left, he had neglected to tell her on purpose, fearing she might just be the kind of person to look for him at a time he needed utter peace and unity with himself. Although he never could put a finger on what their relationship was, Luo does know that she became the chief of staff at Kiri hospital, a large title for someone as old as he was.

As Luo left of the rainforests of Kirigakure in the country-side, he kept a full detailed map of what paths he took and different recognizable landmines along his way. No one is quite sure how much of the Kirigakure Rainforest Luo explored, but the map he has committed to memory and has only since shown one person, is said to be the most comprehensive outline of the rainforest to date. Luo spent two years in this paradise, fending for himself against wild predators, making food, shelter, and enduring the seasons. In order to keep from being tracked by anyone, or even running into tourists, Luo never stayed in one area for more than a week. It was only after his first year that he happened on a clearing with a large waterfall which fed a long river that Luo stayed in one area. His first year was said to have been the year in which Luo crafted and perfected the wielding of his custom weapon, Senbon Sakura or rather, senbon cherry blossom/senbon decoy. It was a weapon Luo had spent countless efforts crafting on his own, and after it was finished he delved heavily into the suiton arts. The waterfall he found was suitable for water jutsu, as well as had plenty of fish to feed him. It was after a few months here that Luo realized something he hadn't before about the water: It was flowing in reverse. It is this account that Luo told to Fordon within the first few weeks of him becoming Mizukage:

"I had used the waterfall itself as the source for the behemoth of a jutsu, and found that for some reason, there was a reverse flow in the water. It turned out that the waterfall gave the illusion of front-flowing water within 100 yards of itself, when in reality once venturing out towards the other end, you realize that there's a river flowing towards the waterfall, and into a deep chasm behind it. I don't know what compelled me to do it, but I instantly jumped into the chasm without any prior knowledge of what could be down there. What I found can only be described as a river which lead to a vast underground ocean which used the moonlight which fed into the chasm by light reflecting off of the water and onto thousands of minerals to direct tide flow. This was where I continued the last three months of my training, but it was on that day I was attacked by Kyoubou the shark king. He was trying to protect his family, and for good reason. The battle lasted for three days, and it got to a point where I could take it no longer, but neither could he. It was then he told me their story. Kyoubou was a general in the great shinobi wars for Kirigakure, and in fact he led the Hoshigaki clan in battle, the clan which birthed the infamous Kisame Hoshigaki. In the end, the clan betrayed their ancient promise to never allow humans to intrude on their part of the ocean in the land of waves, and Kyoubou turned his back on them, in fact slaughtering ninety percent of the clan which explains why so few are alive today. Setting out for new territory away from humans, he sent Yochi to find a new home. The whole chasm was dug by Yochi, and it took three years for them to allow enough water to create a vast underground ocean. I had stumbled across their ancient place of solitude. After telling me this, Kyoubou regarded that it has never been in his lifetime that a human has survived a full-fledged attack from him, no less for three days straight. He introduced me to the other sharks, and his school of piranha. They are the ones who trained me for those three months, and in that time, I earned each of their respect. it was like being trained in the military, and it was the most grueling training I've yet to go through. Even I couldn't have ever put myself through that, but I pressed on and gained their trust as a family. They gave me the title of 'Hito Wanizame,' man shark. Out of the six of them, I was considered the seventh type of shark in their family, I still am. I then convinced them that humans have long since changed since the great shinobi wars, and they could be trusted as they trusted me. They told me sharks were loyal, and never abandoned their family. So we made a blood pact out of a scroll I was going to seal kunai into. It states that only those deemed worthy by Hito Wanizame and Kyoubou, can enter the shark sanctuary. It is then that the sharks themselves will see if that man is worthy to call upon the shark family as if they were his own. Although my grandfather instilled in me from a young age that family should be regarded as anyone in need, Kyoubou taught me that family took all sorts of forms. He taught me how to not be discriminative. It is those two forces that caused me to gain the title upon my return as the Pride of the Mist. If you asked most, they would say it was my perfect record. But I only gained that record protecting my family. You have to have something more than yourself to protect. It gives us the resolve to keep fighting till the bitter end."

It is upon Luo's return for the jounin exams, that his nickname was given to him, and much changed...
