Dragons
Dragons, probably the most diverse group in the category of beast. Some are large while others are small and while some are white, others are black. These creatures sit on the top of the creature hierarchy. Even baby dragons are looked upon as powerful beings. The dragons do not have classifications such as Rogue, Skilled, and Elite. They are so diverse in power levels and powers it would be impossible to provide general statistics for them. There are many different kind of dragons for each element and then some. Dragons work in mysterious ways, rarely interfering with worldly affairs. A dragon's lifespan can be longer then a few millennia, making their existence very mysterious. Most of the sagacious elder dragons live in elemental shrines all around the Oukoku Seken. Here is where many young dragons will come for advice and shelter. Very rarely do other lifeforms come to these shrine unless for a matter of grave importance. Never in written history has an elder's shrine been attacked. This could be due to the fact that many fear the elder's power or it could be that the shrine locations are so well hidden it's almost like they only exist in fairy tales.
Skills:
*[Ikimono Sacchi(animal sense)]
With this ability all five of a Dragon's senses grow stronger. They are able to observe any and every detail of the things around him. Their sight improves and becomes very sharp, everything he sees has heightened detail. They can hear even the slightest of noises. The sound of a small ant's footsteps can be heard loud and clear. Their sense of smell also sharpens, so much that he can even smell magic. Their taste becomes keen, they are able to taste small trace particles of DNA in the air(hair, sweat, blood, etc.) and use it to hunt down their prey.
*[Dragon Roar]
The creature lets out a powerful roar that shakes the ear drums of the people around it. The attack can only be used once per battle by a single individual. The victims who get caught by the sound lose Agility -10 and Dexterity -10 until he or she can rest to regain it.
*[Elemental Immunity]
All dragons are born with hides capable of withstanding any level of attack from their own element. A fire elemental dragon will be resistant to all forms of heat, while a water type will never fear water attacks.
*[Dragon Hide]
Dragons have a thick and powerful hide, capable of deflecting many attacks with no trouble at all. By tightening their scales however, they can raise the defensive power even more than they naturally have. Doing so however, makes it more difficult to move than normal, because the scales tighten and make it harder to move the limbs.
{Defense +20, Agility -20}
{Lasts ten posts or until released. Five post cool down between uses.}
*[Dragon’s Breath]
The technique that made dragons famous, and feared, is their powerful breath attack. Most well known is the fire breath, but of course, that isn’t the only type around. Different dragons have different breath abilities. A fire type dragon will have the famous fire breath, while a wind type will usually just blow a powerful gust of air, and a water type can spray water like a fire hose. Different elements and even elemental combinations may bring forth amazing new breath abilities.
*[Dragon Sense]
Dragons are born with the innate ability to sense the presence of another dragon. This is generally used by newborns to find the larger, hidden colonies of dragons, while older dragons will use it to avoid running into one another.
*[Dragon Bolt]
{Obtained at D Rank}
By concentrating the power of their breath, a dragon is able to shoot their element in short blasts rather than the usual breath attack. These blasts are more concentrated, and act as a small explosion upon impact with the target.
*[Dragon’s Telepathy]
{Obtained at C Rank}
All dragons are capable of understanding any language, however, while some older dragons manage to learn how to speak other languages, many do not. For the purpose of communication with other species, they develop the ability to speak directly into the mind of the one they wish to talk to. The mind automatically translates the words into the target’s primary language, allowing them to hold a successful conversation.
*[Gas Breath]
{Requires Fire element.}
{Obtained at C Rank}
Some fire dragons obtain the ability to separate their flammable gasses, from the spark that turns it into fire, and simply release a cloud of highly flammable gas rather than breathing fire. This gas will spread quickly to cover a wide area, until it hits and form of spark or flame. When lit, it creates a large explosion. The explosion is more powerful the higher the concentration of the gas, meaning if a small room is filled with gas, the explosion will be stronger than if it was set off in an open plain, where it can dissipate into the air. Along with this ability comes the ability to create a spark from the mouth, which is mainly used to light the flame.
*[Nightmare]
{Requires Fire element}
{Obtained at A Rank}
{Lasts three posts}
A truly powerful fire dragon is capable of lighting itself aflame, turning it’s own body into a powerful weapon. This fire only lasts a short while, and is generally only used in quick bursts for intimidation, or sudden destruction. The power of the flame is capable of burning through wooden barriers in a split second.
