Leviathan

Leviathan Forces

:NOTICE:
You must have already passed basic Training in order to participate in Leviathan Training and Testing.

TRAINING

In order to begin training as a Leviathan unit, you must first have successfully completed basic training. Basic Training is of course the standard for all opening positions in nearly every unit, and so simply making it into the Navy application qualifies you for Leviathan Training.

Leviathan is intended to provide the user with a more in depth look at basic grammar, spelling, and roleplaying rules. Leviathan is also intended to provide a more advanced training in the Arts of Warfare, several kinds of weapons and what they are capable of, how to train, how to teach, how to be a distinct leader, methods of infiltration and spying, how weapons work, how to understand the basic ideas of weapons, how explosives work, realistic physical movements, and military structure in general. Leviathan units are intended to be highly trained individuals with not only the ability to roleplay as an expert, but also to preform all forms of military activities successfully. Guerrilla warfare, Ambush tactics, basic medical training, over-all warfare tactics, and specific roles will be taught at a much higher level, and instead of being briefed over, will actually be taught. In correspondence with the training however, testing will be implemented, to make sure the soldier has learned all that is required.

In addition to this, weapons training, the ability to roleplay leaving a naval vessel and swimming, and the ability to incorporate various styles of naval training into infantry tactics is crucial to being in any Special Forces unit, this force in particular is dependent on pure amphibious infantry capabilities. Swimming, and the mechanics of swimming being infused into roleplay is an integral part of being in this Special Forces unit.

TESTING

In order to pass the Leviathan training program, you must first being capable of expressing excellent grammar, spelling, and the fundamental understanding of the AMP. The User must also present a strong understanding of military operations, including details on weapons, Guerrilla Tactics, Normal Tactics, How to Train, and the basic of Marksmenship. Experience in a Foreign Language, computer programming, or any kind of external skill may also be used to enhance the users chance of becoming a Special Operative. As a set style, you will be expected to have read, understood, and be able to explain the following-

-Sun Tzu Art of War
-Blitzkrieg
-Infantry Marksmen Training

Leviathan

In recognition of a need for a Special Forces Unit, the Navy Formed the special forces unit code named "Leviathan". Leviathan's purpose as Special Forces Unit was intended to provide amphibious warfare capable of delivering mine clearing abilities, pre-established reconnaissance information in an area, and even special target elimination if necessary. Because of the maneuverability and quality achieved by personnel instead of machinery, Leviathan is primarily a personnel infantry established group, and has less to do with the power of a vehicle and more so of the power of independent soldier groups. Despite this, Leviathan does exploit the sophisticated, expensive, and complex devices which the NAVY has to offer.

The Leviathan is essentially a unit of the armed forces responsible for providing force projection from the sea, using the mobility of the Navy to rapidly deliver combined-arms task forces. In the ordinary leadership structure of the military, the Leviathin units are a component of the Department of the Navy, often working closely with naval forces for training, transportation, and logistic purposes; however, as with all SOCOM units, this control can be separated.

Versatility
Captain Samuel Nicholas formed two battalions of Continental Marines on 10 November 1775 in Philadelphia as naval infantry. Since then, the mission of the Marine Corps has evolved with changing military doctrine and American foreign policy. The Marine Corps has served in every American armed conflict and attained prominence in the 20th century when its theories and practices of amphibious warfare proved prescient and ultimately formed the cornerstone of the Pacific campaign of World War II. By the mid-20th century, the Marine Corps had become the dominant theorist and practitioner of amphibious warfare. Its ability to respond rapidly to regional crises gives it a strong role in the implementation and execution of American foreign policy.

So too does the Leviathan hybrid land and sea group preform in a similar manner. While trained somewhat comparably to the United States Navy Seals or Marine Force MARSOC, the mission objectives can still remain the same as they have ever been for the last 200 years.

The entire force can be used for both hybrid and major combat operations, that is, the Leviathan units can cover the entire Three Block War.

Weaponry

The Leviathan can use any kind of weaponry known to date. Like most Special Forces units, Leviathan is capable of garnishing special Issue weapons, meaning that most kind of weapons needed for any mission can be specially purchased.

The Leviathan personal armory has close to unlimited funds in it's category. Although the military does not have unlimited funds, for a small well trained group, a weapon that is even ten times the price is not as expensive in a small group as a large group would be.

For reference and guiding, the Leviathan uses the Infantry Armory.

DF SOCOM
(Direct Force SOCOM)

Of course, while operating as a Special Forces unit, the unit is fully capable of direct action rather than purely covert affairs. There are again, two main forms of Special Operations- the first are Green operations, or not combat operations, generally consisting of intelligence retrieval or acquisition, reconnaissance, or diplomatic peacekeeping or alliance forming operations. Of course, Special Forces units are also capable of engaging in standard warfare operations, or taking direction action. In this application, Special Forces unit act as regular units, just with more gear, more communication, more training, and in different roles. Just a sniper team would be given different objectives but be fully capable of being attached to a squad (In this role technically being Squad Designated Marksmen), so too can a Special Forces unit operate. They may use special tactics, weapons, or simply an increase in skill, possibly involving a different specific use in tactics or a deviation from standard operation.

An example of an application for the direct use of Special Forces units would be that of Guerrilla warfare in a standard war. True, most of our units may indeed be involved in Guerrilla warfare tactics, but Special Forces groups can be exploited in this manner to both guide and preform actions both tactically and strategically of the armed units in the combat scenario. Alternatively, they simply act as regular units, with increased combat skills and better training in particular combat oriented situations, such as counter terrorism, house or boat operations, scenarios that require extreme marksmanship, or scenarios that otherwise require the user to possess a less than regular skill, in which higher quality or more expertise in that particular area is required or requested. Special Forces may also simply called into action, calling on forces to be activated in warfare scenario. As well, all SOCOM units serve as regular units within their branch, making them regular units regardless of their position in SOCOM, meaning that on a regular basis they are simply units within their branch that although fighting along side ordinary forces, have specially trained skills in many forms.

This also involves the use of restricted or otherwise hard to acquire weapons or devices, and the specific training of such weapons already present. For instance, a Leviathan unit may be prone to using sub-machine guns or .50 caliber sniper rifles as regular weapons, and therefore given the tactical advantage in a certain kind of weaponry, may be capable of responding to the situation better. Conversely, even if such weapons are given to regular units, it is possible that Special Forces are better trained and equipped to deal with such situations.
