This is important, but I'm going to be brief about it. It would really help me out if you guys could vote on the above poll and thoughtfully post comments or questions in this thread about the poll's options. I will update this post when there are major issues to address. Responses may not be immediate.
Keep searching for the mystical, MPRILC.

I think that more activity would solve most of this guild's problems. It just seems that in order to do that we're going to have to recruit.

I agree with Obscurus. I also think that we should do some cleaning a bit. Terminate persons that do not post that sort of thing. Clean out some old threads. Create a "Popular Thread" listing. That sort of thing.

I would hope that I do not count as one of those people 'who do not post', though I don't seem to be above the status of "lurker" since I've really gotten back.
I've frequently wondered about what it takes to keep an occult oriented forum running, and still something more than a 'constant newbie help/question/etc... area' for a lack of better wording. In short, I think/agree activity would probably be the main solution with some cleaning, though I doubt much would be needed (maybe just some guideline about necroing, or not doing so or something).
Edit- Though I have a few forums I go to when I'm interested in looking up/for things and learning, I don't really feel the dissolution and/or emigration of the guild would be the best choice since I view it as being a bit of a stepping stone or something for some people, potentially atleast anyways.

In order to maintain activity outside the normal "Q&A" most of these guilds get, we'll need to find motivation for occult activity, topics for discussion, and other such things that will keep "lurkers" from just checking and leaving.
The OWO was a good success in that...but that's kind of an event. Perhaps if there were motivation to keep at projects like those for more than just a week or a month.

I agree with Azana, we need more room for activities and monitored experiments and which what. I myself thought this guild died out so that is why I haven't been posting as much lately and have been keeping to the Supernatural forum.

Like Angus, I've been keeping to the Supernatural forum for most of my Gaia activity.
I think that if we wanted to recruit then all it would take is for those of us that are Supernatural regulars to just put a banner with a link in our sigs, then the mods of this guild could pick and choose who they want. There are potentially a few problems with that, but it might be a start.
Another problem is that when I come up with a good topic for a thread I usually post it there since I know it's going to get seen. There's that and the fact that most of my interest these days is focused on conspiracy theory, fringe/alternative science, and aliens/UFOs.
I still have an interest in psychic abilities and things of that kind, but I feel that all of the general, basic stuff has been hit in here already. Everyone here has the knowledge foundation. This means that only specific topics will see discussion or be helpful and I'm really not that good at coming up with specific topics.
Maybe we should think of expanding the subject matter of the guild some to include UFOs and conspiracy theories? These subjects tie into the occult quite often when you begin to study them. I would also be more likely to come up with new topics for discussion. I don't think there's a specific rule against talking about such things, but the guild never really seemed to lean far in that direction.

I think expanding it to include UFO's, Cryptids, and Conspiracy Theories would be pretty neat.

-X-Luciferin-X-Bandit-X- I think expanding it to include UFO's, Cryptids, and Conspiracy Theories would be pretty neat. Ditto. My knowledge base is larger in these areas than it is in magic.

More activity, honestly.
I've come back and scanned over the guild forums every time I'm on Gaia, which is honestly rare, but there's never really anything I can add to.

I think a refreshing change/refocusing could bring in more activity personally.
Also, sub, I need to talk to you on AIM sometime.

There's a lot I could talk about, on a few subjects... excluding UFOs and conspiracy theories, because I, uh, yeah. XD
One reason I've never gotten into this guild is because by the time I joined it, it was already the same half-handful of regulars answering the same all-too-common newb and n00b questions, and I was already a bit tired of that from Obscurus' guild... which had less of that, on average. =P I don't much desire to open up to or in front of newbs and n00bs, at least at this point in my life.
In fairness, it was a rather brief period when I was willing to do that.

I haven't been around much. Just got back from Wales. More activity in the guild would kick start discussion and interest back up again.
