Best advice I can give you is to either get over it, or leave and not give two shits what your bd says. Or, learn to take nothing personally, and when he yells at you to shut up, it's no longer a big deal. Other than that, not much you can do. Good luck!

Unless you're just walking out during class, you shouldn't have that much of a problem changing your schedule.
That is, unless it's in the middle of the semester/year. But if you're that unhappy, you should be talking to your school advisers, and just be informing your BD that you're quitting.

Just ignore him or go up to the office and say u want to quit...you don't have to tell the bd...or make up some excuse why u can't continue in band.

Get your schedule changed. Then if your BD asks why, just come up with a good excuse. I don't know any off the top of my head but hopefully you can figure one out. And if he flips out then don't take it so personally.

Well, you could refuse to play, but you'd get in bigger trouble. sweatdrop But, it'd be worth it b/c you'd maybe get kick out of band.

ya pretty much what they said. deal with it. when a BD yells and tells you to shut up, its tends to mean you guys need to be quiet and be productive. out BD yells at us sometimes, but its so we can get something done

'Yells at us' as in yells at the class to shut up or yells at you to shut up?
If he's yelling at the class to shut up, then maybe you guys should take the hint. I can't possibly list all of the reasons why band is better when the kids don't immediately start blabbing after they stop playing.
If he's yelling that you, then chances are he yells at people all the time and has learned that it helps shock them into staying in band. I'd either get used to it, or go to the office. He can't force you to stay in band.
I agree very much with MezzoPianoX. Do not let this man ruin music for you.
