That alien you see in a water tank at the beginning of the game, then notice is missing from the tank at the middle of the game, then have to fight at the end of the game, only to find it transforms into a bigger and more bad-a** alien when you defeat it and thus make the end boss a two-part battle.
...Maybe even three-part... Those ice shards are kind of tipping me off to big technological mojo...
