Information This will be a mated pack.The Gypsy Pack is a family unit, whether or not everyone is related by blood. The members of the pack work in unison for what they believe is best for the pack and the future generations. It is however a pack where entertainment is key, though such entertainment is more for rituals if it entails certain music and dancing. Only the Iolana and Zelig ( Alphas) and their predecessors may have tambourines, the others may have something else similar to maracas or anything that can be held or worn and shaken to make noise from. Thus the four tambourines are like crowns, stating that either the ones with it are the current Alphas or were once the Alphas. Furthermore only the Alpha and their relatives may wear purple. All other colors are open to anyone. There is also the belief that those born with gold or silver as part of their pelt (though not their eye color) are destined for greatness. It is believed that they will be heroes or in some other way bring good fortune to the pack.

Map Trail Southeast from Zira (The Outlands) and Northeast from Order of the Rose, parallel from Acropolis, directly North from Reign of Terror. The Gypsy Song Pack will hopefully then be across the waterway, which looks like a pond or lake with a river/stream shooting off from it, from one of the Human 'native' Settlements. The den would be partially underground and inside the trunk of Sequoia trees where there's a large enough opening that a few wolves could fit into. Example One, Example Two, Example Three (from inside the tree) They also have taken up living in an old abandoned caravan. Caravan Here, by On Deviart. There's also a chuck wagon that no one uses that pups and adolescents may use as a fort for play, Here

Rules 1. OoC should only be found in threads marked [OOC]. 2. Only mated pairs may contemplate starting a family. 3. In order to join, one must speak with either the Iolana, Zelig, or Ezra. However, if one cannot meet them first, they can be guided to them by whomever might already be a member of the pack. 4. In order to obtain a rank, one must be given a task by the Iolana or Zelig. If they complete that task and the Iolana or Zelig believes they have done a good job, then they will present them with a rank. 5. The order of succession will be [male, female, male, female and so on]. Furthermore it is not a divine right that the first born will become the leader in future. It is up to the Iolana and Zelig to determine whom is worthy. If they find that none of their offspring is worthy they may turn to their grandchildren, and place someone not related to them in place until such a time as a grandchild is willing to step forward, whom is worthy of the title. A Seer ( should their be one in the pack) can help to determine who is most worthy to become Iolana ( whether or not they are a member of the pack, whether or not they're even known to anyone) . Should this not be one of the leaders own pups, they may well betroth one of their children to the one whom has been declared worthy. 6. Those within the pack follow a semi-gypsy lifestyle. They do however remain within the territory save on special missions or with special permissions. 7. For mates who stray, as this is a mated pack the one who did not stray will not be blamed and if they wish may choose a different mate. The culprit(s) however may be demoted to Omega or even chased out of the pack. There will be a hearing however with the Iolana, Zelig and Ezra's to determine what should be done.

Whirling dancers with eyes like jet Centuries have not tamed us yet! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hierarchy of the Pack of the Gypsy Song Iolana ( Head Alpha) (meaning: “ To soar like an eagle”) - The head Alpha must always be referred to as Iolana rather than by their name, except by their offspring and any relation or close friend to them. However if their relation has somehow lost their respect, they will not be allowed to call them by their name, but instead their title only until such a time as they decree that they may once again refer to them by their name. Together with the Zelig they plan festivities to do with music and will also discuss such things with the Theron, Namved and Samirah. Zelig ( Alpha's Mate) (meaning: “ The blessed one”) - This is the mate of the head Alpha, though they both share all duties and responsibilities, one is usually a little more dominant than the other over the pack. Still the Iolana will always listen and consider what the Zelig has to say and come to some mutual agreement, rather than go ahead with their own plans without forethought. In this way their bond remains strong. Ezra ( Beta) (meaning: “ Helper”) - There is usually one male and one female Ezra, and usually they are mates, rarely are they anything else. The Ezra's are decided by the Iolana and Zelig, for they must be trustworthy and honest. This means that they are usually either related or close friends with the leaders of the pack. Like the Iolana and Zelig they often patrol the borders of the territory. Zakariyya ( Seer, Shaman) (meaning: “ Prophet”) - Although their powers may not be that strong, they are still looked upon with high regard as the most likely to be correct with any form of divination. While there may be those within the pack that use runes (rocks with symbols on them) to try and guess the future of an individual, the Zakariyya are more likely to get results that could very well actually come to pass. Atka ( Gamma, Beta) (meaning: “ Guardian Spirit”) – There is one or two for each Ezra, Iolana and Zelig. They are like bodyguards, most often used while out of the territory, but while in it they are more of a last defense as they stick around the den to protect it. Usually an Atka is chosen from a pool of Vidar, Theron and Olinda. Paxnuada ( Beta, Gamma, Omega, Familiars) (meaning: “ Peace Protector”) - There duty is to keep the peace within the pack, often the mediators of any disputes, only involving the Alphas or Beta's should their attempts fail. Many a time, when the leaders of the pack are discussing a treaty with another pack the Paxnuada will be present to help with negotiations and see that all goes well. They also happen to be therapists for pack members, as their ability to keep a confidence is legendary. Those who blab are looked down upon and if it continues to happen, they would be stripped of their rank. Vidar ( Gamma, Beta) (meaning: “ Forest Warrior”) - The Vidar are warriors within the pack, and can most commonly be found sparring when there is no eminent war on the horizon. They seem to prefer forests to work around rather than other terrain, which could prove to be problematic. Yamkemp ( Gamma, Beta) (meaning: “ Sea Warrior”) - The Yamkemp are warriors within the pack as well. They however specialize in combat in and around water ways. Hamkemp ( Gamma, Beta) (meaning: “ Hot Warrior”) The Yamkemp are warriors within the pack as well. They however specialize in combat in and around deserts and savannas. Xuekemp ( Gamma. Beta) (meaning: “ Snow Warrior”) The Xuekemp are warriors within the pack as well. They however specialize in combat in and around ice and snow. Theron ( Gamma, Omega) (meaning: “ Hunter”) - They are the hunters within the pack and play an important role in making sure that no one in the pack starves. They feel it is their divine duty to make sure even the lowliest within the pack have something in their stomachs. They work best together as a unit in order to take down large enough prey to fill all the pack members stomachs, even if it means they need more than one carcass. Still, depending on the hunters personality, some may not feel this way, though it is the way a majority of them would feel. Olinda ( Gamma, Omega, Familiars) (meaning: “ Protector of Property”) - They are the scouts and sentries of the pack. They will alert the pack to intruders should they come across them or even just scent them. They also keep a close eye on the resources such as water and prey in the area. Each and every day they make rounds around the entire territory to survey the land for any potential problems or to indicate a new resource that might not have yet been discovered. Raphaela ( Gamma, Familiars) (meaning: “ Divine Healer”) - These are the healers of the pack, or more like herbologists who have learned which herbs help heal and those which are dangerous. They may should their be one in the pack work in conjunction with a Shaman as their helpers. Therefore while they know how to help another heal, they do so only with knowledge of herbal remedies that may or may not work, depending on the individual. Angell ( Gamma, Omega, Familiars) (meaning: “ Messenger”) - They relay messages between members of the pack, but more importantly they are tasked with sending messages back and forth from their pack to another. Sometimes the Voleta will tell them what they found and they will then in turn relay it to the Alphas of the pack. This means of course that they need to have a superb memory so not as to mess up the information they received from the Voleta. Premruya ( Gamma, Omega, Familiar.... rarely Loner or Vagabond) (meaning: " Love sight/vision") - They are the matchmakers within the pack. They do not believe any single wolf or familiar can be happy unless they have a soul-mate. Sometimes the single and lonely may go to them for love advice, even those that are courting or mated might to if they feel somehow discontent or that something isn't right. This means that there are some who love them, but some that probably find them to be an annoyance. They of course will not take one look at someone and say 'oh I know who is just for you', they do take some time to get to know/find out about each individual and then based on that set them up on a 'blind date'. Namved ( Gamma, Omega, Familiars) (meaning: “ Poet”) They are the story-tellers, the bards of the pack. Throughout the generations legends and tales both of fiction and nonfiction have been passed down. History is an important element within the pack and therefore will often work with the Kotjaard to teach the pups and adolescents about their packs beginnings, their past. At least once a week they will gather in a circle, and all within the pack are welcome, even encouraged to attend and listen to the stories being woven. Stories which if remembered well by certain members may indicate that their future lay in this direction. Samirah ( Gamma, Omega, Familiars) (meaning: “ Entertaining Companion”) - They are the entertainers of the pack, though they are not bards and so do not tell tales or speak of history they do entertain the pack in other ways. They are responsible for coming up with games and holding tournaments. They may also act as comedians and mimes. Sometimes they might even put on a play for which any member within the pack may try out for a part, though certainly not everyone will be in the play, but instead the audience. The Samirah will make sure however everyone gets a turn in the limelight. Kotjaard ( Gamma, Omega, Familiars) (meaning: “ Child Watcher”) - They are the pup-sitters within the pack and their duty is to mind the pups while their parents are out attending to their duties or in need of a rest. They become like a second mother to the pups, and so may be called 'Auntie' by those they care for, even should they not be blood related. They must protect the pups when danger is present, even if it means sacrificing their own lives or just a bit of flesh. They must also teach to pups the ways of the pack. When their charges become adolescents they will try to find someone for them to apprentice beneath depending upon their personality and interests. Therefore in some ways they are also like a 'guidance counselor'. Voleta ( Gamma, Omega, Loner, Familiars, sometimes Vagabond) (meaning: “ Veiled One”) - They are the spies within the pack and are rarely found on the pack territory. They do after all need to seem more neutral should they try to infiltrate a different pack and so hopefully be considered less suspicious than if they carried the scent of their pack upon them. They must however attend any important pack meetings and events if only briefly. Acanit ( Omega, Loner) (meaning: “ Hard Times”) - More often than not, a wolf is given this rank, because they are lazy or have committed some crime which warrants the stripping of their rank. However there are some whom only wish to keep a low profile, and while Omega's may be more respected than those whom have lost a higher rank through foolish actions. Irfan ( Adolescents) (meaning: “ Learning”) - An adolescent is not much different than a pup, however they can help pup-sit, but they can also be apprentices to the Gammas or even Betas and Alphas depending on circumstances. They do not play quite as much as when they were pups, for they are expected to slowly take on certain duties. Aldora ( Pups) (meaning: “ Winged Gift”) - They are usually the pups born into the pack. Other pups are also allowed, but are viewed as a little less important than those which belong to the members within the pack, except perhaps by those that may take them under their 'wing'. Gost ( Loners, Vagabonds) (meaning: “ Guest”) - Those within the pack welcome those who have been shunned or run out from their packs. They make no judgments and welcome all with open hearts to join in their festivities. However there will still be someone watching the Gost's just in case they are up to any mayhem.

Members The Iolana and Zelig Username: Mistress Trinket Wolf: Zigana (uncerted link please) Rank: Iolana Personality: Zigana is a free spirit, although that doesn't mean she feels no joy in the company of others or that she wishes to be a loner. No, she is free in spirit, feeling as though she were as light as a feather dancing on the breeze. Dancing is one of her forte's, for she moves to the beat of the wilds music, with the bells jingling on her purple scarf, holding a tambourine in her mouth to shake and when able hitting it with her tail. She moves with gusto, without a sense of rhyme or reason, only knowing that she must for her feet cannot resist the urge to move to the tinkling music around her. While music and dance is a big part of who she is and what she loves, it is not all there is to her.
Zigana believes in the mystical even if she has no powers herself, she enjoys hearing the tales of the seer and shaman from the world over, or at least her small portion of it. She also believes in reincarnation, even if it might not be real. It might get her into trouble at times, especially if she believes someone to be the reincarnation of an ancestor or legend, just by their appearance and attitude. Yet she is so passionate in her beliefs that there may be those, susceptible to suggestion that may very well believe her. She is not deliberately trying to lead others astray, because it is something she genuinely believes though she is never actually correct, but one cannot get her to believe something else. Which shows that she is a rather stubborn sort, but in other areas she may admit defeat and that she was wrong, but not in that.
No one could ever say that Zigana had been cruel to them, for she is quite friendly and only wishes to be of assistance. However due to her bizarre beliefs and the rituals she performs having been partially exposed to humans as a young pup whom traveled in caravans, having arrived on the lands by stowing away on merchant ships. They were the vagabonds, the outcasts of society and sometimes believed to be evil witches. Zigana does not trust all humans, but those of Gypsy lineage she is more inclined to trust, yet she desires to be free from them and live among her kind only. However much of their rituals and beliefs have made Zigana who she has become. History: Zigana was born into a small band of traveling loners, not necessarily considered a pack. They came and went as they pleased, though more often than not they could be found traveling together as a single unit, squatting on territory which was not theirs, though never disturbing the locals. For their keep they would perform tricks, dance and make music with the items that it was possible for them to do so with. Due to this, the group remained quite small however, as the morality rate was rather high.
Zigana was only one of two out of a litter of four to be born alive. However her brother, only a few minutes before her when he was just a pup wandered to far away alone without adult supervision and was never seen again. Zigana believes that she had seen him swooped up by a predatory bird, but she could never be one-hundred percent certain that it had indeed been him. She mourned his loss, and with his loss her father left, never to return to her or her mother again. The pack was not much for mated pairs, everyone doing as they pleased, no matter who might have gotten hurt in the end.
As Zigana grew, the group passed a small human camp. It seemed that they might have been outcasts in comparison with other larger groups. It was the first time she had ever seen the two-legged creatures with opposable thumbs. She had little trust in them, but when one was ill she felt compelled to remain by her side until someone arrived to help her deliver the new life she carried. Zigana would never forget that experience, but she preferred to keep away from such camps, as there had been one that had kicked her. They were unpredictable, but it was also how she obtained the ring in her ear and the purple sash like thing with the golden coins attached to part of the hem. Here too was how she gained her tambourine, a couple of the people having come over as indentured servants only to run away.
After a time, as she grew older and larger, she also grew tired of the group. She did not wish to go from place to place, but instead wished to settle. When her mother perished in a hunt for a large prey animal, having been kicked in the head she decided that it was time to leave the group. There was nothing there for her, even though a couple of the males had tried to woo her, she was not interested. The morals and even some of the rules of the group were not for her. Thus she decided to find her own land, to begin her own pack. Still, her wandering past would mould her future and that of her pack. Yet it would not be entirely as it had been. Reason for Joining: Zigana was sick of the traveling group she was in, with their immoral ways and never settling down at all. She longed for something else, where soul-mates could be with one another happily in a more settled environment. A pack where most of the pups did not die before they'd even had a chance to live. This was why she decided to start a pack keeping some of her Gypsy ways, the music and the dance and the beliefs, while throwing away the less desirable traits of that life. Family in the Pack: None Other:The Omega Quote: Username: Wolf/Familiar: QaletaqaRank: Omega Personality: Qaletaqa often is at a loss for words, at least ones which make sense and therefore is hardly ever completely understood. His words are jumbled or mispronounced making it difficult for others to befriend him as they might not be certain what he says. Which is the very reason he tries to keep a low profile, knowing that he has great potential, if only he could speak properly so that others might understand him. Yet with his speech patterns and difficulty he has been shunned in the past and prefers not to have another repeat of what came before, which is why being an Omega to him seems quite ideal. This, because he feels he can be within a pack, but no one would expect to much from him, at least conversation wise he thinks. However when it comes to protecting others, he wont back down, not from a challenge when others under his care or whom he cares for might be in danger. History: Qaletaqa's mother was a wonderful mother who doted on her three pups. She however seemed to favor Qaletaqa, as though instead of the oldest of the litter he was the youngest and the runt all rolled into one. When it became apparent to his parents that he was a little slower at learning than the others, or so it looked to them, his father despaired of him ever being worthy of the lineage. Blaming Qaletaqa's slow development on his mothers side of the family, he left, taking with him his other son and daughter. Qaletaqa's mother however would not leave him, and feared that her first born would die from a broken heart, never imagining he had such resilience.
As he grew, he was far more intelligent than anyone had ever given him credit for, though still his speech was not all that great. It wasn't that he was mute, but he wanted to speak for he had the ability, but he just could not formulate the correct pronunciations in the correct order other than in his head. He learned some signals, should anyone have difficulty understanding him. His mother of course was very proud of him, though she missed her other offspring. Qale knew this and decided that they should track the other family members down. It didn't take to long, they'd only gone about three days trek away.
When his brother met him, he was a hostile figure, missing an eye. Qale was taken aback, and angered his brother more by speaking. Apparently while Qale recognized him, he thought him to be a stranger. That did hurt, but then it had been a long time and not everyone had as great a memory as the next. He was able to get one word out, for the first time. "Brother," he lifted a paw to touch the hostile male, and gave a nod of his head to confirm it. At least their had been dawning comprehension in his brothers eyes as well as shock. His brother and sister had thought him dead, father had said so after their arrival to their new pack. This angered his brother, however his sister only scoffed.
"Oh, my dear dear brother, do you not recall how dumb he was? What use would he have been, what use would he be even now?" she had scorned, but she had been so motherly toward him when they were pups that it truly put a blight on Qale's heart. Yet he could see she was thin and frail, half-starved and missing a chunk of an ear and half of her tail. He didn't know what had gone on, but he did not like the looks of it. If only he had been able to speak comprehensively and understandably when he tried to get them to leave with him. When his attempts failed, he and his mother along with a couple of her old friends went on a hunt and mother fetched his siblings. They ate as though they had not eaten so well in ages. He could well believe that, for word came that his father was a tyrant and sent even young pups into battle. No wonder the pack was so small and devoid of hope or happiness.
Qaletaqa confronted his father, though he spoke not a word, but his body language and eyes spoke eloquently for him. It was a battle and Qaletaqa did not have a care as to whether or not he won, but he did, driving his father far away from the land. The words he heard his father speak only made him feel more contempt for him. "You, my flesh and blood will see, that only violence is the key, or you'll never get anywhere. Despite your handicaps you've turned out better than your siblings. I'm sure, one day you'll be just like me." With that the male whom had given him life along side his mother left to never be seen in that area again.
Having defeated the Alpha, the pack tried to make him the new one, until they discovered his difficulties and even they too scoffed and scorned. How could one who could not speak understandably possibly be able to lead, or even help the pack at all, so they drove him out together as a unit. His brother and sister followed, as well as their mother, but along the way he became separated from them. He thought that perhaps it was best that way, so that he could begin fresh without so much of the past hanging over his head. Reason for Joining: Qaletaqa wished for a place to go, and the way he believes that Gypsy Song will be run fits him best for he enjoys listening to music and dancing. They also do not care that he speaks weirdly as long as he participates in some way, though his deficiency makes it difficult for him to rise in rank. Username: Kouseki Wolf/Familiar: YooNa Desired Rank: Namved Personality: YooNa is a pleasent soul, she's happy and willing to please others. She cares deeply about others, but craves a safe place with warmth and consistant meals. Pack life is something that she wants very much.
She spends most of her time running around and telling stories to anyone who will stop long enough to listen. Her flaw is that she rarely quiets down, and needs to be reigned in a little. History: YooNa was born to a rather.. odd family and found herself not fitting in with them very well. She wondered on her own and started to listen to the trees and the stories that the forrest told. Through her life she has thrived on these odd stories and would tell anyone who was willing to listen. Reason for Joining: Story time would be fun. She needs a place to be safe and well taken care of, perhaps naive pups that would listen to her strange stories. Adults would probably enjoy her, as she's rather happy and aims to please. Family in the Pack: None. Other: None.

He's not afraid to stick up for what he thinks is right but rarely ever raises his voice and never starts any fights. He rarely ever gets angry and is almost always pretty easy going. He finds that most things aren't worth getting angry or worked up over. He's lived on his own for most of his life but he does enjoy the company of others. If you ever need someone to listen to he's there to lend an ear and a kind word. Taavi is dependable, honest, and quite capable of any job he's given. He thinks that his work should be done before he himself relaxes, but can try to fit in a little bit of fun and humor to make the job a little easier. In short, Taavi is a kind, brave, honest wolf who can keep his calm but still has a sense of adventure. History: Taavi is still fairly young. He lived in his parents pack for the first three years of his life but has now decided to move onto his own pack. He only left his other pack a few short months ago. Reason for Joining: I just got him a few days ago and I'm trying to be more active and I want to do something with him, I think this might be the perfect opportunity. Family in the Pack: No family Other: Since I just got him all of this is still kind of a work in progress and the kinks will get ironed out a bit more.

Well as for starting that thread... just NPC Zigana... ref... and say she told you to meet at 'such and such a place'... you can also use the part about her introducing herself to Taavi and anyone else earlier in a different area.
Oh and... to know that the ones who are supposed to be there who have met Zigana... they'd know the anthem... so one could sing a verse and another the other...
