So I go to GameStop for my Pikachu-colored Pichu (which, to be completely honest, doesn't look any different from a normal Pichu to me) and figure, "Hey, I'll reserve XIII while I'm here." So I do. Turns out when you pre-order, you get this handy-dandy little guide, which is mostly an ad for the strategy guide, but is pretty interesting nevertheless.

You would like to see yes?

I've actually completely avoided looking at the walkthrough part, but just the gameplay explanations turned up a couple things I hadn't heard about before.

For one, you can skip cutscenes. Not a big deal, but it's nice to hear I won't have to go through the equivalent of another Seymour speech fifty times while freezing my butt off on top of a mountain. Likewise for the Retry button in battle.

I also really like the idea of being able to pull up the map easily to check which road is a dead end (and, of course, nice to know that there are dead ends after all xd ). The red glow of the screen when you're critical is gonna be really handy too, I think.

Not going into detail, the weapon information is pretty interesting, too.

HEY, does this mean the walkthrough's not being made by bradleygames?

LOL, looking at that first map, I can tell why people complain it's linear. xd

Aww, that almost makes me want to go and pre-order the game, just to get that. xD

EDIT: HOLY s**t GUYS, AMAZON IS SELLING THE COLLECTOR'S EDITION OF THE GUIDE FOR 19$. WTF, AMAZON <333

Yeah, I was surprised that it's not Bradygames too. What's weird, though, is that I just went to Piggyback Interactive's website, and they apparently have their owns guides for every Final Fantasy since VIII, and they're calling them official. Whether they were actually official or not, I guess it's not so much that they're starting to make them, just that Bradygames is stopping. Wowww, thanks for mentioning Amazon's deal. Haha, half the reason I did preorder was to get this thing. I just realized, though, good thing I did; March 9 is a lot closer than I thought... I keep thinking we're still months and months away, but it's only about three weeks. eek

I was going through the website too, and I think the piggyback books were being sold in Europe. I know they were saying that they books are avaliable in german/french/al behd/whatever, I seem to recall seeing a price in euros (maybe not, though). Also, doesn't the cover of the guides match the PAL box art?

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I wish it wasn't coming out for a while. An unexpected expense came up, and I think I'll have to wait for a while to actually buy the game. crying

Ah, Europe... That would make sense. I guess it's the PAL box art; I was thinking more along the lines of it's just the games' logo, eheh. That sucks, though. sad I hope you end up being able to get it; good luck!

Aww, Psy... Did you get it at GameStop?

Mmm, I believe that Piggyback is taking over for Bradleygames in the states, but were previously only selling in the PAL region
