As you all know, I am an intellectual pervert.

As some of you may not know, not everything I do is sexual. Being a closet pervert in real life, most people do not generally view me as a pervert, but this is not completely relevent.

Anyways, my problem is that, half the time when I'm messing around (in a non-sexual way of course) with my friends, people make comments like "Stop flirting with everyone." or "That's sexual harrassment."

Now, at this point, both me and my friends just sorta look at eachother and think "ummm....what?"

So, then, what is the line between sexual and not? Are most people too quick to judge things to be sexual?

Hmm...I think it depends on how the person was raised and what they were raised around.

Example, in Japan, panty shots and lookin' at young girls isn't that much of a big deal to them anymore, while over here in the states, they'd be callin' the cops on yo' a** for sexual harassment of them of some sort, or generally call you a freak.

And different sets of beliefs will lead people to think diferent things about certain subjects, or actions. In some circles, it's considered taboo to even holds hands or show affection in public, while full on hugging and kissing each other on both cheeks is the norm in others.

So in reality, it all depends on how the person views things, and what they're beliefs are. Of course, in this day and age, their beliefs might land you in court for sexual harassment...

Yeah, it's not a big deal, but that's not the point, Koi, because the behavior and acts you described are still part of their sexual behavior. It's not deviant, even though over here it would be considered so, but still.

It all depends on the participants. Wether something is sexual or not is not for outside parties to decide, but on the people participating. Some people would consider me carrying my friend, not only a bit weird, but in some way perverted, since I have to hold her up by the butt sometimes (either that or she slips). But we don't because that's just the way we say hi after not seeing each other for a while. People have asked her wether it bothers her to be carried around, and people tell me that I should feel bad for "feeling her up". But she doesn't see it that way, neither do I, and that's all that matters.

Exactly. Lord Vyce, you are a god, and so are you, Koiyuki. I couldn't have said it better. I mean, my friend Roxanne and I greet one another by loudly exclaiming, "MY WOMAN!" then running into one another's arms. That's just how we greet one another and show our friendship. I can do that with her because she knows that it means nothing but friendship. So don't worry what those others mean. If your friend tells you they're uncomfortable, then don't do it.

The line between sexual and not is pretty near, and not at teh same time. From people to people the lenght of the inbetween of the two can change.

Example: I go up to you and give you a friendly hug, then take both your hand and fling your arms everywhere and say let's go eat someplace or go to some book store...that's friendly touching.

or

I go up to you, drop my pant, whip out the hugest boner ever and start dry humping you...that's creepy sexual.

See, now the two are pretty close to each other, but in one point, one can shift to the other pretty easily (depends who you are). I dont know, I guess I aint good on that subject.

Me? A god? Woah... Now you made a big mistake. All shall hear of my omnipotence for weeks! You've done it now! Why do you think no one in this guild comments fervently about what I do? It's because I'll annoy the hell out of the guild with one of my ego trips.

But now I would think that would be rather amusing to see razz

Believe me, I'm trying my hardest to not do it, because I do it in the most obvious way possible.

The line between sexual and not is relative. It depends on the individual. There are some people who are extremely uptight, there are those who have rather laxed standards. Everybody must find their own line between sexual and not. They must also be ready to accept that few others are going to accept their method of distinguishing the difference.

It is both a cultural and an individual thing. Some subcultures even have specific ways to express love, like the mall goths with their wrist-cutting. stare

In America it seems the most accepted traditional way to express sex is to turn out the lights and fade to the next scene. The hippies are infamous for their free sex youth, but for the most part they seem to have grown out of that as they aged. It makes me wonder what will become of our generation with our even heavier emphasis on sex and sexuality.
