Does anyone else here like Harry potter?
PostPosted: Sun Feb 07, 2010 3:13 pm

i was a fan of the harry potter books when i growed up yes. not a big fan - i didnt get over excited or anything like that like some people do. stare

but the films i must say sucked. i love the first 3 couse they folowed the plot. then hated the others. the one just come out what was it...THE HALF- BLOOD PRINCE wasnt it? i sawed on cinmaras only couse it was my fav out of the whole series. and i throught that was pretty good. and the adding of symbolic i throught personally was a great move.

i know the rule that plots have to change a bit when made into films - yes i know and do understand that rule but the harry potter films, when it comes down to ending i really hated them. they are nothing like in the organial books and i hate them for that becouse in the end - THE END of a film is just as importanted as the start or the middle

I started reading that series waaay back. I was only a kid then. It started sucking when it got to the fifth book. The seventh book was just one long fanfiction.
The movies are just fine if you haven't read the books. Sorta. The third one hurt my heart. That was some of the worst effects I've ever seen for a werewolf.
I agree with TheNightmare on the latest movie though. It wasn't half bad. I'd even go so far as to say it was better than the book.

thanks for agreeing with me.
THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE was great how the drictor decided to put symbolism in it. like when Draco is trying to fix the cabberent. he puts in an apple and when he opens it again its eaten to the core, same with the live bird then reopens its a dead bird laying on the floor i throught that was a nice personal touch. and with the fighting they made it exciting. the fight beween HARRY and DRACO when Harry finds Draco crying in the bathroom. the carmara shots were great in the way they folowed harry as his junping throught the loos and and returning the attacks back to Draco. Also when Harry cast ....i cant remember the spell but the one whe Harry waves the wand like a sword and the blood in the person just fall out.. Whatever the name of that spell is when Harry cast the spell in the film they show Draco falling throught the bathroom door and the fact that his not running and casting the spell couse he was hit and is laying on the floor, the fact that has happen his hidden behind door and Harry opens and walks through to Draco. userly when voliance like that is used in a kids film the end resualt or the deady body isnt shown. they just shown some of the blood and thats it you know.

but with the bathroom searn they showed blood, Draco dieing WITH zoom-in close up.. they have NEVER done that in a Harry Potter film before.

You're right, the way they did the shots was really well done. It shows how much darker the latest film is compared to the earlier ones.

I've never slept on the street to get the books, but I have gone to a few midnight releases (for both the books and movies). I was only in line for a few hours and there was no sleeping or being outside involved. XD

Yeah really. If you know when to get to the theater or store for things like that, there's barely any waiting involved. My friends and I have this down to an art. Although sometimes it's fun to go really early to a midnight release.
Just a week or so ago, we went to a midnight showing of Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. We got there around eight or so and we played Pokemon Monopoly until a line formed. Then we were pretty much at the front of the line and we only had to wait ten minutes before they let us in.
