please talk about LORD OF THE RINGS by J. R. R. Tolkien here.
its a great series a big classic that has been on peoples minds for at least 3 dercards. thats pretty fantastic for a book series come you have to agree with me on that poeple ^-^

agreed ^^. and the movies was great - a lot of the films are ruin when tranlated from the book's pages to the big screan but the lord of rings films wont all thanks to PETER JACKSON ^-^

 I don't even think there's a way to justify saying that it sucks. In order to say it sucks, that would mean that you either have not read the series or you just don't get along with older, more stylish ways of writing.
It's a brilliant series, even if I think there was an overload of detail that could have been scrapped. Still, it was a fun read and the movie adaptations were amazing.

Still, it was a fun read and the movie adaptations were amazing. but dont you think that the writer needed to do that to make the book SEEM like a real place. i mean he did that couse he wanted perople to see the vision of the world that he created. and it works LORD OF THE RINGS is now in allmost all shops. books, dvds, art and more he was amazing writer

In pretty much every book that builds up a world, there are some details that could have been scrapped and it would have been just fine and people still would have gotten the idea.
I'm not saying that a whole lot needed to be taken out. Maybe just a sentence here or there.
There's no disputing that his work is genius. After all, he created his own written and spoken language for the series.
