All of a sudden, it seems all time has frozen. The world has come to a standstill. The puppetmasters who are present heave a sigh; for with the absence of other puppetmasters, the show cannot quite go on for a bit... But with an exchange of glances all around, they begin to think...how about we take things Behind the Curtains? Okay. So let's face it, it's apparent that wonky time zones, busyness, writer's block, and unforeseen real life occurrences are causing our RPs to become rather...slow. And those of us who can be online more often than others are bored to tears, waiting for them. Apologies if that comes off as so blunt, but I'm sure some of you are thinking it. ;P Not to mention, in a surprising turn...RP sometimes tends to take over a certain place that is supposed to be a one of regular idle chatter. O.o;;
Well, welcome to the "backstage area", a place where the characters can relax and engage in idle chatter in a peaceful setting, or spar in some open space when they're itching to pick a fight. ('Cause we know some of you prefer action. ;P) A place to randomly RP without being restrained by a plot.
You see an open-air lounge. It's a wide, circular area where soft couches line the short walls, with a pointed roof providing shade. The carpet is a burgundy color with flourishing golden tan patterns. The middle space is not completely empty; there are coffee tables here and there with pillows to sit on. Lining the outside of the walls are a series of round tables with seating for two each, ideal spots to take a one-on-one conversation. There are random Joe waiters and waitresses on hand to take your orders, where they are made in the basement kitchen below the lounge, by a team of cooks headed by the one and only Wonder Chef.
The lounge appears to be surrounded by vast expanses of short-grassed fields, ideal for sparring.

RULES AND GUIDELINES
1. Keep it PG13. Don’t overdo it with violence, language and romance scenes; keep it within Gaia's Terms of Service.
2. All characters are welcome! From New Tomorrow to Aftershocks to START ME UP! and everywhere in between! So are the characters from the entire Tales series, if you wish to have a shot at playing them! Even canon characters of other fandoms!
3. As much as possible, please try to post OC profiles in the General Profiles sticky, if you are to use characters that aren't in any current RPs.
4. You are to remain in-character here. If you're starting to have a lengthy discussion out-of-character, I ask that you take it to the Chatterbox or PM.
5. This is probably a given, but to clarify: Everything that happens in this backstage area stays in this backstage area. They shouldn't interfere with or be mentioned in the other RPs. (Except maybe chatroom-like RPs... o.o)
6. No Godmodding. Anyone is free to call the other on godmodding, as long as they can back up with a good explanation. That being said, I introduce rule #7:
7. I also intend for this to be a place of training, for people who are new at RPing wishing to seek advice as they try out things. Everyone is free to critique each other's entries when they feel like, be it OOC (within indicators like (()) or []) or IC (as in, a character deciding to play the referee for a bout). But be careful not to venture into the territory of flaming.
8. Please be literate. I mean, I would just prefer that you refrain from using chatspeak. Spell out your words. That's all I ask. One-liners are fine, occasionally, but do try to be descriptive. No one can get into your mind and see things the way you picture it. Give the others something to work with.
9. It doesn't hurt to backread. Read the previous posts so you know what’s going on, so you don’t confuse other RP’ers, and use the material as much as you can to flesh out your posts.

A very travel-weary Rhone seeks shelter in what looks like a very large lounge. Once inside, he notices it's also....very empty. Seeing the many places he could rest, he quickly seats himself at a coffee table, and rests his feet on the table itself. He tips his hat down in front of his face slightly, so anyone walking into the lounge wouldn't be able to see his blue eyes. Well....this place is as good as any for a rest... As he sits at the table waiting, his body begins to relax and his mind starts to wander...

A very tired man walks into the lounge, panting slightly. He had run around looking for one of his friends but didn't have any luck. He looked around and saw that there was only one man in the room. He walked over and took a seat across from him. "Hello there." Cerberus said.

The door to the lounge flew open as Izzy walked in. He had his signature grin, and was covered in blood - somebody else's, of course.
He sat down at the nearest open seat in the way all cocky people do - tilted chair, legs on the table. He peered around to see the lack of activity. "Must be a new place." He muttered to himself. He pulled out a book that had no title on it and began to read.
He acted as if he wasn't covered in blood, or being cocky at all, but the smile.. that demonic smile.. it assured those who looked that he was up to no good.

Cerberus turned and faced the man that just walked in. He met his crazy smile with one of his own idiotic ones. "Hello there, did you get into a fight or somethin'?"

Izzy moved his eyes to look at the potential enemy, his grin widened. "Something like that, kid." His eyes rolled back to his book.

Cerberus chuckled. "Love street fights. Well, I just love to fight in general." Cerberus said as he began to laugh.

Izzy raised an brow. "Is that so...?" He didn't look like he was paying attention; but then, in a flash, he swung his over-sized sword near Cerberus's head.

Cerberus stopped laughing when Izzy swung his sword at him. He pushed off of his seat with his hands and propelled himself backwards, away from the attack.. He landed a few feet away in his battle position. He was still smiling. "So, you wanna fight then?" He said as small flames began to circle around him.

Rhone speaks without ever looking up. From that gust of wind I just felt you just swung something at the man in front of me. I'd appreciate it if you left me out of your childish squabble. I don't get much time to myself and I was rather enjoying my own company. He smiles slightly out of the corner of his mouth and folds his arms across his chest.

Izzy's sword hit the wall and crumbles of the structure hit the ground. "Take note; I don't fight trivial little quirks as you do - You try to take me on, and.." He stared at Cerberus with a murderous grin. "..I'll kill you."
He turned to Rhone and removed his sword from the wall, sheathing it. "Oi. It'd be over in a flash if I had wanted to fight him, so I won't. Don't worry about it."

"Well, I'm not as weak as I appear. I have a lot of hidden potential." Cerberus said as his yellow eyes began to glow slightly. His smile still hadn't faded. He walked over to Rhone and saw that he was slightly smiling. "Hey, do you think this is funny?"

"'..Not as weak as I appear'.. I've heard that before." Izzy chuckled and went back to his book as if nothing had happened at all.
