In English Class we are supposed to write a persuasive essay on something we feel strongly about. I'm doing mine on why Twilight is a really horrible series. We were supposed to read aloud our topic sentences for him to approve and when I read mine, he looked at me, laughed said, "Oh, I approve all right, great topic!" And moved on. It made me laugh, well that and the little glares from the Twitards in my class. You guys want to give me some points?

I did the same thing in English last semester. My topic was "Twilight doesn't deserve the fame it has." I got 13/15. C:

Epic win! I had to do a similar paper, but we had to do it in pairs. My partner sat of her a** and texted the entire time instead of working. stare My topic was "Is Pop Music a Bad Influence on Kids?" I was on the "No, they do stupid stuff conciously" side.
We have to a do a Book Talk in a few weeks. We have to choose a book to read on our own, get into groups, and then do an oral presentation on the book. I'm gunna do Nightlight. cool

Awesome topic choice for a report. I'm in college, so no book reports here for me hehe. And Nightlight is awesome, I just finished reading it. ^^

Evelyn Eastbrook The Unholy Shadow Start with the misuse of "chagrin". Ω
Quite. If there's gonna be a report about Twilight on English Class, I'll use that graph, and defend the notion that Twilight is a horrid piece of literature by going on the offensive in the report. 3nodding biggrin

WIN! biggrin
What was the topic specifically? You could write an entire book on all the thing wrong with Twilight. Its best to simply focus on one thing. Personally, I would go with how anti-feminist it is. Thats the easiest one to do.

Wow, I wish I had an english teacher like that. Sadly, I'm about 80% sure that mine is a Twitard.
She hasn't said anything outright though.

Sounds great, I´m glad you didn´t get murdered by rabid twilight fans after reading it aloud! In my class I could actually see such a thing happen... sweatdrop

Thats the easiest one to do. I agree. Bella is docile, useless, extremely dependent, emotionally unstable/neurotic, hopelessly clumsy, and lacks a backbone. Edward is her exact opposite, he lacks emotion. He's also abusive and sadistic, but she'd still make'em a sammich! Damsel in distress storyline never ends, only repeats.

I was more going towards that fact that Twilight doesn't possess the literary elements to even be considered a novel, let alone a good one. It lacks a plot, dynamic characters(believable ones), good style, theme, and many other things. Yes, the Anti-feminism bit does come up, but it's more of a contributing factor, my paper is already 6 pages long and I'm not finished yet... I feel like such an overachiever redface .
