Old Topics?
Delete them, theyre useless anyway and they take alot of space.

hello freaks, I thought about deleting topics with more than 5 days of inactivity. Do you prefer that I delete them, or Should I make a Recycle Bin Section to store them?

So tell me what you think, after how many days should they be considered old and if we delete them or not.

I say 13 days since last post.

(Because that's about two weeks, and my favorite number.)

Sometimes, people just can't get online (like me sometimes), or are held up on vacation and waiting for someone to get back. It happens.

That, and sometimes an RP needs members before it can start, which can take a week more often than not.

2 weeks is a good gauge of if this is the problem or not.

Furthermore, I think topics should NOT be deleted unless they break rules. A locked subforum of "dead threads" is a good idea.

Some people want to reference old work, or revive an RP (sometimes by starting over), and need the material.

Other things, like a conversation, tend to die, yes, but could randomly spark up again at any time.

I don't think there's anything wrong with just letting them sit there. That way if someone wants to revive something, all they have to do is bump it once.

thats want I wanted in the first place. but people seem to want the useless
topics to be deleted, or to be in a recycle bin or something.

I also don't think there's something wrong with letting them sit there...
But if people absolutely want them to be gone you should put them in a recycle bin and it should be after two weeks or so. Like A Shade of Darkness said. 3nodding

why would you want to delet some topics ? ... delet them only if they are stupid ...
I think u should let the topics because maybe after a so long time, ppl will want to wach and try to remember the first topic where they did comment in this topic ... so if u delete it .... they won't be able to remember the first comment in this guild ... and it would be a little sad .. it's like u can't know abouth the biging ... ....
i think the memories should be keep forever ... even if they are sad or happy memories ... ... they are just like a part of us ...
... sweatdrop ... maybe i write to much .. my answer is : don't delete them !

If they're unused for over a span of two weeks, move them into a locked area of the guild that only crew can go into.

If somebody needs something from there, the person can ask either a crew member or Kaos to get it for them.

Simple, no?

As a relatively new user, I say, "huge archives are intimidating!" & it's an awful deterrent from community involvement, if it seems that the community is already so well solidified--then trying to become part of the group (enter the 'inner circle') is like trying to find your way through a brick wall.

Well, okay, more than just coming from the perspective of a new user that's also coming from someone with a diagnosed social deficiency. sweatdrop
