No, really, it took me four years to realize that Twilight is actually a really nice book ! I had to move to another continent just to see that !
. . .
I now hereby give you permission to sue me for lying.
I really am reading Twifail, because someone in this very guild was asking people, " Have you actually read Twilight ?" and I answered, "Nah, I just read like four pages," and that kinda made me feel bad. I mean, we should give everyone a chance to prove themselves, right ? (I may as well be a total pacifist. Or Buddha. No, I'm not Buddhist. I'm definitely Christia - wait, where was I ? ) Anyway, I have read around half of the book, and I was wondering : How do Twifags stand this . . . thing ?! (Trust me, I would've said something much worse if I was certain there were no fourth graders running around Gaia ). I mean, really, just how did Stephenie Meyer convince people that she should not be carted off to a mental institution on an isolated island ?! Dx<
For those who are totally devoted to this kind of topic, I give you permission :
Discuss.

You scared me. D:
The books made me roll my eyes a lot. They were sore after I finished the series. I might just read the series again to try to understand what the Twitards are thinking. o3o

Because she puts out a sense of mystery that stupid people eagerly follow because they are unhappy with their current life. You take plan ol' boring day put night over it, and imaginations run wild. I think the people that are reading this are addicted more to their own fantasies.

People only think it's well-written because of all that damn purple prose. And I agree, Meyer needs to be put in some sort of institution. She's MAD!!

First off, you scared the hell out of me. Anyway, the only reason she's got so much hype is 3things 1:Vampires 2:"love" story 3:a shitload a big words for little girls to grab dictionaries for. Seriously, its retarded, she DOES need to be carted off to an island.

Haha, you had me goin' there for a bit.
Thank [diety] you were faking.
I read the books tons of times actually. *Former Twitard* The fourth one made me realize how crappy they all were. I only read them for the trashy romance because I wondered why my grandma was obsessed with those types of books.

Holy Christ, I was going to ask how you got in here. xd
I read the first five chapters. I have to get around to finishing it some time soon, as painful as it is.

My theory is that Meyer does what a romance novelist does; she appeals to the idea of the 'perfect guy'. But unlike most romance novelists she is catering to the teenaged audience, which is a VERY influenced crowd.
In some sense she throws around this sense of hope for any dowdy 'average' looking girl and makes it seem like it's possible for a normal girl to make a drop dead gorgous guy fall in love with her. What kind of insecure teenager is not going to love that?

Bleeding Heart Willow the only reason she's got so much hype is 3things 1:Vampires 2:"love" "story" 3:a shitload a big words for little girls to grab dictionaries for. Fixed. I've really only read about maybe five chapters in... I've read eleven chapters in snark, but it really dose'nt count because it's not whole. I should finish reading it, but it makes me roll my eyes so much... and everytime Bella whined that Edward (a guy she had barely spent a few minutes with) was not at school and that it made her feel like she just wanted to OMG DIE, I wanted to bang my head on the keyboard. It's popular because the audience she is catering to is obessed with the idea of a perfect man that will come for them one day, he's just so gorgeous and he's rich and mysterious and he'd save them from rapist and quote cheesy s**t all day to them. Twilight would have been much more awesome if the Cullens turned out to be teen stalkers with Bella as another victim (instead of "special girl"), but then ***** is not a ***** and helps her fight the evil vamps razz

Sadly, Meyer could never have her beloved Eddie be bad. sad ... she would hate my main character >: )

I've only read the first book. I actually did like it until he started sparkling. At that point I found myself doing a head desk and wondering what she was smoking. Yes, it's original, but it's not creative. It's idiotic.
