POKÉMON BREEDING
User Image
"Team Rocket's sophisticated Pokémon Breeding Labs are pushing the frontier in the world of breeding Pokémon. Using cloning technology, Team Rocket can manufacture offspring from any combination of Pokémon types or genders, even same-sex pairs. With just one DNA sample from each Pokémon, the labs can create a clutch of eggs for you. No need to leave your Pokémon anywhere or anything!

Trainers, unfortunately, don't have access to this technology. Luckily, the traditional means of breeding, using a male and a female in the same egg group, is still as effective as ever. It's nowhere near the fine science Team Rocket has harnessed and involves uncontrollable variables such as personal desires and compatibility, but if successful, it'll net you a clutch just the same."

BREEDING RULES AND INFORMATION

  • Make sure to read everything here, as well as the colorist's specific breeding rules, before trying for a breeding slot!

  • When trying for a slot, you can submit two of your own Pokémon, or one of your Pokémon and one owned by another TRHQ member. If you're breeding your Pokémon with someone else's, that person must post permission before slots close.

  • The price of a breeding is due once the breeding slot has been obtained. This can be paid in full by one member involved in the breeding or split between the two. If both parents are normal/dark/shiny/uniquely colored, the cost is 4bil. If one or both have unique markings, the cost is 16bil. If they have physical edits you'd like to pass on to offspring, the cost is 40bil (you don't have to pass on line edits if you don't want to). One discount coupon may be used per breeding, not per person.

  • Remember that if the breeding is through the labs, both Pokémon can be either gender. If the breeding is natural, they must be a male - female pair in a compatible egg group. Neither of them can be an egg, a baby Pokémon, or a legendary Pokémon.

  • Each successful breeding will produce three to four eggs. Each player may only keep one egg from their breeding, and the remaining egg(s) must be given (not sold) away. If you don't know of anyone to give the egg(s) to, let us know and we'll flaffle the egg(s) for you.

  • The Pokémon species resulting from breeding will be determined by the Pokémon being bred. If you breed an Umbreon and a Pikachu then the babies will be either Eevee or Pichu. In the same vein, a Ditto can produce baby Ditto, rather than have such a breeding made up of only the other Pokémon's species.

  • If either of the Pokémon being bred has unique, dark or shiny coloring then some or all of the babies may share the coloration or combinations of it. Very rarely, shiny Pokémon may result from the breeding of any kind of Pokémon - even normal colored ones. The chance of a shiny Pokémon being produced in a breeding will not increase if one of the Pokémon being bred is shiny.

  • In some cases, physical line edits may also transfer to the babies. Each colorist is able to set their own conditions on inheritance, so be sure to check their individual threads for more specific information.

  • NOTE: "Blind date" breedings have their own unique rules and cost. Check the thread, linked below, for full information including allowances/limitations and pricing.
