I have pretty big arms. Larger than your average girl. I don't think they really match my somewhat slim body. It may be due to playing softball. My pitching arm is a bit bigger than the other. However, I don't play anymore, and the muscle is slowly going away. I want to get rid of the fat!!!
Is there a quick way to lose the fat? Should I completely stop with any weight lifting? And any further advice?

If you have fat on your arms, the only thing that stopping lifting weights will do is to make your arms weak and make you burn fat slower. You can't spot-reduce fat. The best way to get rid of fat is to get plenty of cardio exercise (running, swimming, jumprope, anything that gets your heart rate up). 3nodding

I'd quote penguin's response but that would be redundant.
Don't stop doing weights with your arms, having the muscle there will mean it burns fat there. That's not a spot reducing tactic it's just something that will help overall, though muscle burns 3 times as many calories as fat does, it's a difference of 2 calories per pound for fat and 6 calories per pound for muscle.
Using a rowing machine would help with arms as it's cardio more or less for your arms. Jump rope might also help as well.
But there's no quick easy way to do it.

You should keep doing weight training with your arms. If you stop, then the muscle will lose all its tone and look flabby and fat, which you probably don't want.

Thanks for the advice. The thing is though, my arms seem manly to me. I don't know if it is just me but I've been teased for them. I have muscle already, so I thought the weights would make them stay as big if not bigger. Or is this not true????

This is something I've heard, so I don't know if it's 100% true. But if you do weight lifting with smaller weights it focuses on toning, where as if you use larger ones it will build visible muscle.
Anyone else heard this? I've started doing weight lifting with small 5lb hand helds, and I've noticed that my arms are starting to tone up and be less flabby.

More reps with lighter weights tones, heavier weights builds muscle.

Focus on cardio and stretching, lengthening exercise like yoga if you're trying to lose muscle there, however continuing to get some weight training in with small weights, you seem fairly strong already so 5 pounders would probably keep you strong but not be enough to put the kind of strain on your muscle that causes you to build it.
So in effect cardio would burn fat, and your weight training would keep your muscle there.
Imagine your arms with no muscle at all, and the entirety of the bulkiness there would be fat rather than some fat some muscle.
For something so specific my suggestion is to go to a gym and take advantage of it if they have a free or cheap first session with a personal trainer, or just book a session with a personal trainer anyway the session will be worth it's weight in gold to you.

I would actually continue weight lifting, at least in moderation. It will leave some muscle tone and will leave your arms looking more fit, even if they still have a little extra padding on them. Because really, you be be stick thin, but muscle tone is a pig part of looking in shape.
Other than that, cardio is the best key for losing weight. So do some of that as well.
